Jenifer's POV
After I hung up, I could barely wrap my head around it.
Sure, Kolton could be impulsive, but he'd never ended up at a police station before.
Still confused, I didn't waste any time and headed straight for the Oakwood Police Station.
An officer escorted me to the bail area. The moment I walked in, I saw Lorelei standing there, waiting for the paperwork to clear.
The second she spotted me, shock flickered across her face—quickly replaced by that familiar smirk.
"Jenifer, what brings you here? Reed specifically told me not to contact you about this. He was afraid you'd cause another scene, so he asked me to handle the bail instead."
I glanced at her, wondering why Reed was even here in the first place. Then it hit me—it didn't matter anymore. We were done. Whether he was here or not was none of my business. So I kept my mouth shut.
Lorelei took my silence as some kind of heartbreak and looked even more pleased with herself.
