At Lorelei's house, Gary sat at the dining table, in front of him a Psyduck with lively eyes.

"So, you not only solved the headache problem but also gained psychic power far exceeding that of your peers?" Gary asked uncertainly.

"That's right, my Trainer~" Psyduck picked up a Sitrus Berry from the table and swallowed it whole.

"And, you little guy were actually born in the Sevii Islands~" Lorelei remarked with emotion as she packed her luggage.

"Indeed, madam, in the Orange Islands near the Sevii Islands, I have a good friend, a very wise Slowking.

As you know, Slowking can use Future Sight a little, so I asked him to enlighten me on my future path." Psyduck's eyes glowed blue, using Confusion with ease.

"I think I probably know which one it is." Lorelei nodded, noncommittally.

"Why me?" Gary still found it very strange.

Psyduck sighed helplessly, looking seriously at Gary: "My esteemed Trainer, you are born extraordinary, destined to constantly climb higher, and I am worthy of that position. You understand, among the six at the peak, I will be one of them."

"Sounds good." Gary smiled: "Then, let me see what you can do later."

Psyduck smoothed its three strands of hair: "No problem, you'll see. Ow! Naughty little girl, don't bite my tail!"

Behind Psyduck, Eevee cutely stuck out its tongue.

"What a lovely little girl. I think I should also catch an Eevee. Next, I'll go to my old home in the Sevii Islands for a few days. Maybe I can get a beautiful Glaceon." Ever since Lorelei learned that Ice Island, her old home, had the conditions for Eevee to evolve, she was eager to expand her team.

"Are you leaving?" Seeing Lorelei finish packing, Gary also consciously stood up.

"It's fine, you can rest here for a bit." Lorelei looked at the sky; it was already afternoon.

"No, thanks." Gary shook his head: "You know Lt. Surge, that soldier. I don't want him chasing me down two streets with a rocket launcher or something later."

"Pfft~ Alright. Gary, here you go." Lorelei smiled and pulled out a small USB drive.

"This is..." Gary took it.

"My Ice-type Pokémon training experience. It contains some common skill teachings, like Ice beam." Lorelei explained casually.

Gary paused for two seconds, then put it away: "Have a safe trip, Sister Lorelei."

Seeing the young boy's somewhat moved expression, Lorelei stepped forward and gently ruffled Gary's hair: "Don't be so sentimental. We'll still meet often in the future."

"The hardest thing to bear is the kindness of a beauty..." This was no ordinary item. The training experience of an Elite Trainer, and from a top Elite like Lorelei, who specializes in one type.

If this experience were sold, it would conservatively be worth seven figures! And Lorelei just so easily packaged and gave this priceless experience to Gary.

Gary thought with some emotion and quietly exchanged an Ice Gem from the system store for 100 achievement points.

Although this item is consumable, because it is not produced in Kanto, it is considered a rare item.

Pretending to pull the gem from his pocket, Gary smiled and handed it to Lorelei: "Here, a gift exchange. Don't worry, it's not something useless."

Taking the cool Ice Gem, Lorelei's mouth curved slightly upward, and she quietly tucked the gem into her four-dimensional storage pouch at her chest: "Thank you, Gary, I really like this souvenir~"

After a light, polite hug, the two left Lorelei's villa.

Lorelei was going to the port, while Gary was headed to Vermilion Gym.

So, one went left, one went right. Gary stood at the intersection, listening to the sound of high heels gradually fading away.

"Nice girl... worthy of being my Trainer." The poké ball at Gary's waist automatically opened, and Psyduck appeared behind Gary, like a seasoned ladies' man.

Gary's face was full of black lines: "How the hell did you get out?"

Psyduck glanced at Gary smugly: "Is it that hard? My own home's door, can't I open it?"

"Next time you run out on your own, I'll let Eevee bite your butt." Gary's mouth twitched.

"Alright... calm down. Young man, women can only affect the speed of your sword draw.

Especially a top-tier one like her, you need a better status, like Champion~? Understand?

So, now let's go find a Gym and kick the Gym Leader's butt!" Psyduck shrugged, activated Confusion, then turned into a red light and returned to its poké ball.

Gary rubbed his temples speechlessly. This duck, it was as if an Alakazam lived inside its body, truly making one feel a sense of incongruity...

Before the sun set, Gary first went to a Pokémon Center, then directly arrived at Vermilion City's Electric Gym.

The decor was heavy metal death rock style, with a giant lightning bolt as its sign, just looking at it made one feel paralyzed.

Two delinquent youths at the gate walked up, casually sizing up Gary: "Hey, kid, this isn't a place for weaklings like you. Get lost."

Gary was so amused he laughed, grinning: "I thought Lt. Surge's place would be more orderly. I didn't expect this kind of style, it's really disappointing."

"What did you say?" The two delinquents with colorful, messy hair immediately got angry, surrounding him with baseball bats and extendable batons.

"Hey, are you serious?" Gary sneered, completely unafraid, and with a flick of his wrist, two poké balls were gripped between his slender fingers.

If these two idiots dared to take two more steps forward, Gary promised to have Rhydon and another horned Pokémon poke two holes in their butts, to teach them a lesson~

"Hey, you two, stop it!" Fortunately, before Gary could act, the Gym door opened.

Lt. Surge's Gym assistant, whom Gary had seen at the park entrance that afternoon, a black man with the two Galar region characters for "Loyalty and Righteousness" tattooed on his right arm, walked out.

It was said that this gangster, born in the Unova region, was once a good-for-nothing until he met the soldier Lt. Surge, which made him turn over a new leaf~

Slap! Slap!

After directly slapping the young gatekeepers on the back of their heads twice, the black man then showed his eight white teeth and smiled: "Mr. Gary, Gym Leader Lt. Surge has been waiting for you all day. Please come in. These two little brats just joined the Gym and don't know the rules. Please don't mind them."

Gary shrugged. As the saying goes, one doesn't hit a smiling face. He wouldn't make things difficult for two hooligans who genuinely wanted to improve: "I'll give you this one, Mr. Akio. So, let's quickly head to the battleground. I hope Mr. Lt. Surge doesn't have a habit of going to bed early."

"This way, please." Opening the door, and then giving his subordinates at the entrance a fierce glare, the black man, Akio, then motioned Gary through the corridor to the Vermilion Gym's battleground.

On the brightly lit arena, Lt. Surge looked up, chugging a drink. Seeing Gary, he immediately stood up excitedly: "Hey boy! I've been waiting for you!"

Gary looked at the bottle in Lt. Surge's hand: "I hope you haven't had too much to drink."

Lt. Surge pouted and threw away the bottle: "I'm drinking soda, young Gary. Alcohol impairs judgment."

Gary nodded with some admiration. This big guy with a drunkard's face was actually a soldier who drank soda. The world truly was strange.

"I apologize, I had something to take care of earlier. So, is it still not too late to challenge?" Gary asked seriously.

"Of course, boy, I am waiting for you!" Lt. Surge said excitedly.

Gary frowned: "I am not a boy, I am a man."

"Oh, you speak the Unova region dialect!" Lt. Surge's eyes lit up.

"Rainbow University's compulsory courses include, but are not limited to, the language of the Unova region. If you want to hear it, I also know the language of the Kalos region, the Alola region dialect, and the Galar region's language." Gary rattled off several different languages.

Lt. Surge had a head full of question marks: "Alright, I hate overachievers. Let's have a real fight! If you win, I'll admit you're a true man, a formidable man."

Gary rubbed his fingers: "No problem. You have the badge ready, right?"

"Hahaha, of course. Akio, go call Pixie to observe!" Lt. Surge commanded.

Akio nodded and turned to leave.

Soon, a short-haired girl with a tan complexion and noticeable muscle definition came running in, carrying a Pikachu.

That's right, carrying! The girl ungracefully grabbed a Pikachu by its tail and ran in. Pikachu not only didn't resist but was actively doing pull-ups with its tail...

"This is my apprentice, Pixie. Like me, she's from the Unova region. Can she be the referee?" Lt. Surge asked.

"I have no objections." Gary shrugged.

"Alright, Pixie, practice later, hurry up and get to the referee's stand!" Lt. Surge yelled.

"Yes, sir!" The girl stood at attention and saluted, then put Pikachu aside and ran to the referee's position.

Goodness. This girl was the most soldier-like apprentice in this Gym!

Curiously glancing at Gary, Pixie frowned. It was for this man that her master had, against all odds, given all three Pokémon a Charge yesterday~ She wondered if he really had the ability.

With the referee in position, Gary also took out his poké ball, and he and Lt. Surge stood opposite each other.

Pixie's somewhat deep mezzo-soprano voice announced with considerable presence: "Next, the Vermilion Gym Challenge will commence. The rules are as follows: a maximum of three Pokémon may be used. If all three Pokémon of either side are rendered unable to battle, the other side wins.

Only the challenger may switch Pokémon during the battle. Let the battle begin!"

Gary nodded to Pixie, satisfied.

Finally, a professional referee. On this point alone, Vermilion Gym was stronger than Pewter Gym and Cerulean Gym!

Lt. Surge gripped his poké ball expectantly and threw it out with force: "Come on, young Gary, let me see what you can do. First up is this guy!"

"Electabuzz!" A fierce-looking Electabuzz, crackling with electricity, appeared on the field.

Gary bounced the poké ball in his hand, then suddenly threw it out: "You've eaten the Moon Stone. Let me see what you learned from Grandpa. Go, Nidoking!"

"Roar!" A cloud of dust scattered across the ground, and a robust, muscular giant beast with a sharp horn on its head appeared on the field.

It was Nidoking, returning from its studies in the backyard, once Gary's ace striker!

The battle officially begins!
