With the warning said she changed her attitude immediately and asked, "Hey, so would you mind if I stayed here for a while?"
"I guess I don't mind, but why would you want to hang around?"
"Well, we are kind of in the middle of nowhere. I left Tokyo yesterday after work and drove overnight to get here. I haven't had the time to get accommodations in order. I'm also tired and don't feel like doing that right now."
"You really are honest."
"I am. But that doesn't mean I don't lie through omission."
"Sure. I'm the same. I'm going to get the TV set up then."
"Ooh, would you? I have never actually watched TV for entertainment before."
"You haven't? Really?"
"Nope. I don't really have any free time. Whether I'm running the business or reading reports, I spend pretty much all of my time focusing on work."
"That's pretty sad. You don't have any time for relaxation?"
"Well, I actually like working. It's just something I like doing. I know how to delegate work, I have my right hand woman handling my work today. I can still watch over and handle any work that really needs my attention with my laptop. You do have WIFI right?"
"Of course I do. The password is …"
"Thank you. Do you have any recommendations for what to watch?"
"Hmm. Well I have a few that I like, but it's hard to recommend something if I don't know what you like. Do you watch anything?"
"I only really watch the news. That can be entertaining, especially when you know all of the secrets they are trying to hide. It's amusing watching them cover things up."
"Secrets, huh. Then you would probably like "Lord of the Enigmas". It is a Xia animation of a popular story. It is one of my favorites. I had actually read the first book a long time ago when they only had that many chapters released.
I didn't realize I had read it until I watched the animation and saw the red clothing. I had an aha moment and realized why it all seemed so familiar."
"Hmm, so it is a very popular piece of media and culture?"
"Yeah, I would say so."
"Cool, then I am definitely interested in watching it. Also, do you usually remember books you have read?"
"Um, not the titles. But, if you give me the first few sentences of a book, then I can tell you almost the entire plot line. Even if it has been decades, I'll still remember them. I remember the plot lines of the stories my grandmother used to read to me as a kid."
"That's impressive."
"Not really. I think most people can do something similar with what they are interested in. Like you for example, I bet you can remember any of the contracts you wrote up or signed."
"Yeah, I guess that's true."
"People have a strange ability to remember specifics of things they care about. Like people who like sports can remember a player's name and or their stats.
I can hardly remember anyone's name. I have forgotten my own family members' names before. Or someone like this girl I like, she can tell you anything about a car or an engine."
"Hmm~ the girl you like? Is that why you didn't fall for my feminine wiles?"
"Um? I would guess so. I am a one girl kind of guy. If I like a girl then she is the only one I see, there just isn't a place for another. I don't know if that's because I value honor so much or something else?"
"One girl huh, I'm envious. That kind of honor and self respect is hard to find in today's time. With people always cheating or lying. It really is tiring knowing the dirty secrets everyone keeps. I hope I can find a guy who only wants one significant other."
"That's a tough thing to look for, humans are greedy. They always want more. If they think they can get more then they will certainly try to get more."
"Yeah. I know. My father is a man who wants everything, money, power, women, you name it. I was born to one of his many mistresses. So I grew up watching a man push him to the extreme for his greed.
Enough so that he even became a demon in search of more. The only thing I have ever really wanted was a small happy family, a warm place to call my own."
"I understand that, my father did the same."
"Really?"
"Yep. The only difference really is that mine was too lazy to actually achieve anything. I haven't seen or heard anything about him in a while. So, I really don't know what happened to him."
"Then I guess we are birds of a feather."
"Haha, yeah, I guess so."
While we were talking I got the TV set up and moved the absolute unit of a TV that was there. That cinderblock weighed more than I did.
I had logged into my accounts and connected to the internet while we were talking.
I opened up SoggyRoll to pull up Lord of the Enigmas, but I found out that it was banned in Yamato. The entire SoggyRoll didn't work here.
I said, "Huh, looks like this app is banned here. Well, I have a way around that."
So what did I do? I pulled up the good old hacking AI back home. I hacked into my TV and then connected it to an untraceable VPN.
Once I was done I said triumphantly, "There, presto chango I got it working."
"How did you do that? Did you use a VPN?"
"Yeah, I used an untraceable VPN."
"Untraceable? Nothing is truly untraceable."
"Sure. But, I can hack into the service provider and prevent any logs from showing up. Which effectively makes it untraceable. The only way I could be traced is if they had an AI searching for my exact serial number and Ip interlog.
But, I have changed the hardware from the original and I have erased my IP from the system stored cache. So, no one even knows what to use to search."
