Raizen, you're from the Uchiha clan… haven't you learned ninjutsu before?"
Rin Nohara asked curiously.
He might have come from the Land of Lightning…
But his surname was still Uchiha.
One of the greatest ninja clans in Konoha....
controllers of the entire Police Force.
A true aristocratic clan.
"Not in the way you imagine," Obito cut in, rushing over the moment Rin approached Raizen.
"In the Uchiha clan, you can't just learn any ninjutsu you want."
He spoke as if lecturing.
"To prevent clan members from misusing techniques or aiming too high, everything must be approved by the elders."
Otherwise, wouldn't everyone just choose the most powerful jutsu?
"I see…" Rin nodded. Her short hair swayed slightly, a few black strands resting beside the purple markings on her cheeks.
Born a civilian child, she didn't understand clan rules well.
"So, Rin Nohara… would you be willing to teach me?"
Raizen asked softly.
His dark eyes met hers, calm and focused.
Her reflection appeared clearly in his pupils.
The air was turning colder.....her clothes were thicker now that late autumn approached.
Rin had great value.
If he could learn from her, he could grow faster.
After all.....Rin was a medical genius.
She mastered Mystical Palm Technique as a chūnin.
And what rank was Mystical Palm?
A-rank.
Just one step below the almighty S-rank techniques.
And medical ninjutsu was even harder to master than normal jutsu.....
requiring micro-level chakra control.
Only someone with enormous talent could learn it so young.
If she hadn't died early…
she might have become a legendary medic like Tsunade or Sakura.
"Mm… sure."
Rin thought for a moment and nodded.
"But at the academy, we're only allowed to teach E-rank ninjutsu. So I can only teach you those."
"That's more than enough. Thank you, Rin."
Raizen smiled warmly.
"You're helping me a lot."
"It's no problem. We're classmates," Rin replied.
Obito, however, felt like he had shot himself in the foot.
Why did I explain all that to Rin?!
"R-Rin! Teach me too!"
Obito begged, not wanting her to teach only Raizen.
But the class bell rang, and Obito had to slump back to his seat.
During the lesson, Obito idly spun his pen between his fingers.
"When Rin trains me… Kakashi won't be able to act all smug anymore!"
He peeked at Kakashi, then at Rin, sinking into fantasies of glory.
Raizen simply kept reading.
Knowledge was basic, yes....
but also precious.
Within the Uchiha clan, he was an outsider.
Would anyone guide him personally?
And even if someone did.....
how much would they teach?
Everything was uncertain.
He knew his own position clearly:
a half-blood Uchiha child picked up from outside.
They only paid attention to him because they feared similar incidents might exist.
And with a single tomoe Sharingan, people might still view him as "foreign trash" from the Land of Lightning.
Rin wasn't a random choice.
Raizen had considered carefully.
There was another genius in class.....
Hatake Kakashi.
Raizen glanced toward the front.
A boy with silver hair and a black mask sat alone.
But Kakashi wasn't someone easy to approach like Rin.
And soon, White Fang's death would plunge Kakashi into coldness and rigidity.
He'd graduate early and treat himself as a pure tool.
After that…
reaching him would be nearly impossible.
Raizen returned to his book.
Strength mattered more than anything.
A full day passed.
Raizen gradually adapted to academy life.
The curriculum consisted of five major parts:
Theory, Physical Training, History, Ninja Skills, and Combat Practice.
Theory covered ninjutsu basics, hand seals, and general academic subjects.
Physical training strengthened the body and taught basic taijutsu.
History focused on Konoha and influential figures of the shinobi world.
Ninja skills taught espionage basics.....codes, infiltration, assassination, disguise...
with kunoichi receiving specialized training.
Finally, practical sparring developed real combat sense.
However, one thing was never taught.....
morality.
The academy existed to manufacture shinobi.
They didn't try to enlighten minds.
The biggest proof?
The Daimyō.
In a world where individuals could split mountains and summon storms,
the entire system was still controlled by ordinary nobles.
Even in Boruto's era, Hokage Naruto bowed to the Daimyō's decisions.
When funding was cut, he endured it silently.
"Thinking too far ahead…"
Raizen exhaled.
The classroom was empty except for him.
He opened his translucent, floating panel.
Based on his tests, no one else could see it.
Today's lessons were mostly history and culture.....probably due to his arrival.
