Chapter 25 - The God of the Arena (Part 2)

In the VIP area, in another room, was the Temple of the Serene Night.

The Temple of the Serene Night is a recent guild in the City of Chaos. Its leader, known as Full Moon, is extremely mysterious.

His true identity, his face, and his talent are unknown, but everyone knows that he is, in fact, connected to slaughter.

What brought him fame was the completion of the killing of a Marquis of the Centipede race, who possessed an S-rank talent, Armored Carapace.

He was extremely famous at the time and, like all famous and outstanding beings, he had a bounty on his head.

Having a bounty can be an inconvenience for ordinary people, but when one reaches a certain level, it becomes normal. After all… after all, the more powerful someone is, the more of a nuisance they become to other ambitious individuals.

And they follow the rule that what cannot be used…

There are places, areas hidden from the sight of society, such as night markets, where all kinds of information are traded. And in those areas, there is information about bounties.

They contain names. They are available. Anyone who can reach them may try.

And that is what happened.

One day, an unknown individual, through an internet website, asked about the reward for that member of the Centipede race. The reward was very high, just like that of all powerful beings.

The informant on the other side of the screen coldly provided the information, lamenting the death of yet another naive fool.

The account had no name, only countless dots. And the profile picture resembled a full moon from a tarot card.

The next day, through a special method, the head of the Marquis of the Centipede race was sent to the public square of the City of Chaos. Attached to the head was a Full Moon card.

The room was silent. There were twenty-two people present. That number was the total membership of the Temple of the Serene Night.

Normally, they would not participate in this type of event. Or if they did, it would be individually, not collectively. But today, in particular, Full Moon ordered everyone to gather, because there would be something interesting.

Danilo was trampled by his opponents, and the audience fell silent.

The spectacle they expected—although everyone knew the protagonist would lose in the end—felt as though it had ended far too early. Many were disappointed, especially after that opening display, where he had elegantly defeated the monsters.

Then they saw the creatures that had been trampling him roar in agony. The three boars doing so were stained with blood and could no longer stand.

After their knees buckled, they saw the legs of the creatures that had been used to trample him severed from their bodies, and then their heads fell.

They saw the protagonist stand up. He looked into the air, at the eagles hovering at a nearby distance. After witnessing the deaths of their allies, the eagles increased the distance between them.

They saw that the protagonist's armor was fractured and in tatters, yet he was fine.

The sword in his hand transformed into a bow.

He did not aim at the birds in the sky, but at the ground animals—the remaining boars and wolves.

They charged, but the protagonist was faster.

Several arrows were fired. Blood and roars of agony echoed. The protagonist grabbed the leg of one of the boars and hurled it into the air, knocking down one of the eagles.

As it fell, the creature tried to regain its balance.

The protagonist leapt and landed on the falling body.

The bow in his hand transformed back into Stormbreaker mode, and with the blade's edge, in three strikes, he decapitated the creature.

Before the body touched the ground, he hurled Stormbreaker with all his strength at another eagle.

It was so fast that it had no time to react.

The blade pierced its chest, and it fell as well.

Meanwhile, they saw the protagonist face the ground monsters using only his bare hands. With each punch, the dry crack of bones breaking could be heard, along with the creatures' wails.

After knocking down the first group, he advanced.

He ran at full speed, bare-handed, toward the rest of the battalion, which numbered in the thousands.

His speed was absurd—twice as fast as the gorillas, which were already extremely powerful.

As for the wolves, boars, and eagles, they were far inferior.

When he reached the battalion, he raised his right hand and opened it. Stormbreaker appeared in his grasp.

He closed his fist, gripping the hammer firmly.

He swung the weapon and began the massacre. He was far too fast, constantly dodging and attacking.

And the most interesting thing was that every part of his body was like a weapon. He did not use only the weapon—he used his feet, his other hand, his elbows, even his head to attack.

Another incredible thing was that, as they realized, his armor—which had been in tatters and half-broken—magically repaired itself.

That was how the fight against the first squad unfolded.

After approximately twenty-three minutes, the last gorilla fell.

The scene fell silent once more for a moment.

People were still trying to digest what they had just witnessed.

A middle-aged, unknown man, in a battle that should have been impossible to win, was performing a miracle.

After bringing down the last gorilla, he stood atop the three-meter-tall creature's corpse.

He spread his arms, looked toward the arena, and smiled.

Only then did the crowd, as if by prior agreement, erupt into cheers once again—this time louder than at the beginning.

In the VIP area of the arena, Mungo Luavo stood stunned as he watched the scene below. It was simply epic.

One man against thousands—something he never imagined he would see.

The more he watched, the more determined he became.

"Who is this man? Who—" asked one of his companions, a trusted aide, equally incredulous.

"Investigate this man's data as quickly as possible," Mungo Luavo said emotionally.

"I want everything about him. His family, what he likes, everything he has done since he was born. Everything."

"This man must belong to me."

After hearing his words, the others were exhilarated as they continued to watch the unique scene unfolding in the arena.

Someone took out a device resembling a futuristic mobile phone, pointed it at Danilo's face, and began recording.

Facial recognition data began to process, attempting to locate his information.

After a short period of time, there was a result.

"I found him!"

"Nivaldo Gourgel, fifty-two years old, four children, divorced. He lives in the country of Kazenga, not here in the City of Chaos."

"Are the data really correct?"

"Yes. The description matches one hundred percent, but there is a small problem.

This Nivaldo awakened a D-rank talent and works as an associate for the Chamber of Commerce of Lisandra and Sons.

His talent is Profit Return, 0.5 times on sales."

After the man finished speaking, the room fell silent.

Those data were the last thing they had expected.

But in a way, it also made sense.

After all, he was an unknown middle-aged man.

If he had always been powerful, his name would have been known long ago.

So if until now he had not been known, there were several possibilities, and none seemed better than the first.

The other possibility was more unsettling.

That the man on the stage was extremely talented and possessed an ability to change his appearance.

Because if it were merely a mask or makeup, then he would be absurdly skilled at that kind of work.

If that were the case, the situation would become truly complicated.

But if he were only Nivaldo Gourgel, then he would be extremely easy to control. After all, all his weaknesses were right there.

Of course, they would have to deal with the Chamber of Commerce of Lisandra and Sons. But comparing the two forces was like comparing heaven and earth.

Although it could not be said that the Hands of God Guild could crush the Chamber of Commerce of Lisandra and Sons with a single hand, as if it were an insect…

With two or three slaps, they would certainly be crushed.

"The other great powers will undoubtedly think the same way, so we must be more efficient," said Mungo Luavo.

"Before the battle ends, I want all his family members under control. After this battle ends, this Nivaldo and I will have a good talk."
