CHAPTER 13 — THE WORLD TOUR

Billie's first major world tour didn't feel real until she saw the flights lined up in her schedule:

Los Angeles → London → Paris → Berlin → Tokyo → Sydney → São Paulo.

For most artists, a world tour is a sign they've "made it."

For Billie, it was a test of how much her mind and body could handle.

The tour buses were cold, the planes were loud, and sleep became something she negotiated with instead of experienced. Some nights, she'd collapse into bed after a performance, only to wake two hours later to catch another flight. Fans saw the glamorous moments — neon lights, explosive crowds, flawless vocals — but they didn't see the back pain, the constant headaches, the trembling hands, or the nights she cried quietly in hotel rooms.

Still, when she stepped onto the stage in London for the first show of the tour, the entire arena erupted. A thousand flashlights lit up like stars. Billie froze. Not out of fear — but awe.

The stage was her home.

She performed Ocean Eyes with her eyes closed, letting the nostalgia wash over her. Then she leapt into Bury a Friend, her voice sharp, haunting, electric. The crowd screamed every lyric back at her. It was intense — almost spiritual.

After the show, she and Finneas sat together backstage. They were sweaty, tired, and emotionally drained, but they were smiling.

"First one done," Finneas said.

Billie leaned her head on his shoulder.

"Feels like we just started something huge."

And she was right.

In Paris, she performed with a fever.

In Berlin, she twisted her ankle but still finished the show.

In Tokyo, she cried onstage during idontwannabeyouanymore — a single tear that fans would later talk about online for weeks.

But the moment that marked her growth was in Sydney.

Halfway through the performance, Billie paused between songs. She looked out at the crowd — thousands of people standing, waiting, listening.

"I'm not perfect," she said into the mic. Her voice shook slightly.

"And I don't want to be. I'm just trying my best. Thank you for letting me be human."

The stadium erupted. People screamed, cried, raised their phones as if capturing the moment might help them hold onto it forever.

This wasn't just a concert tour.

This was Billie learning how to open her chest and let the world see her heart.
