Chapter 261 - Chapter 261: Ability Awakens Again, Discussion with Lacus

Hearing Felix's praise, Lacus felt somewhat shy and mumbled under her breath.

"Am I really as good as you say?"

Felix reached out and affectionately brushed Lacus's nose, speaking softly.

"You are the most perfect in my heart."

Hearing these calm and simple words, Lacus felt an unprecedented sense of satisfaction, her joy uncontrollably showing on her face.

With a bright smile, she nuzzled Felix's shoulder and replied with the same words.

"You are the most perfect in my heart too."

Upon hearing this, Felix smiled contentedly, wrapping his arm around Lacus and leaning his head slightly against the top of hers.

He quietly savored the presence of his lover beside him.

In this tranquility, a sudden look of shock appeared in Felix's eyes. Glancing at his lover beside him, he murmured inwardly.

'What is this feeling?'

While puzzled, Felix calmed his emotions and tried to sense that extremely peculiar feeling again.

Lacus, leaning on Felix's shoulder, seemed to sense his unease as if by telepathy, lifting her head slightly to look at him.

Noticing Felix's focused expression, she quietly waited for him to come back to himself.

This wait lasted over ten seconds.

Felix snapped out of his reverie and met Lacus's gaze as he turned to look at her.

As their eyes met, Lacus asked with concern.

"What's wrong?"

Hearing the question, Felix pursed his lips and replied.

"Lacus, I sensed a very strange feeling from you."

Upon hearing this, Lacus looked puzzled and mumbled.

"A very strange feeling?"

Felix nodded gently, organizing his thoughts before explaining to Lacus.

"It feels like a kind of radio wave, but completely different from radio waves."

Hearing the explanation, Lacus became even more confused.

"Like a radio wave?"

Muttering in confusion, Lacus thought for a moment and asked.

"Have you only sensed this radio wave-like feeling from me?"

After hearing this, Felix thought carefully before looking at Lacus and replying seriously.

"I've never had this feeling before. It only appeared suddenly after being with you this time.

It was so sudden and unexpected."

After speaking, Felix fell silent, continuing to reflect on the feeling. While Felix was lost in thought, Lacus also pondered his words carefully.

After a moment, Lacus suggested.

"Should we try it on someone else?"

Hearing this, Felix snapped out of his thoughts, considered it, and nodded.

"Okay."

A few minutes later,

Aric was called over by Felix.

Entering the room, Aric saw Felix and Lacus holding hands in a sweet display and immediately felt his heart take a hit.

'Captain, did you call me here just to show off how sweet you and Miss Clyne are?'

While Felix was internally grumbling, his voice rang out.

"Aric, come closer."

'Closer?'

Upon hearing this, Aric felt strange inwardly and subconsciously muttered to himself. But in action, he followed Felix's command, stepping forward to approach both Felix and Lacus.

The distance gradually closed until only two or three steps remained, where Aric stopped and calmly watched Felix.

Felix furrowed his brow under Aric's gaze.

Seeing this, Aric grew even more puzzled.

At that moment, Felix released Lacus's hand, stood up, took a step toward Aric, and then—under Aric's watchful eyes—raised his hand to place it on Aric's shoulder.

The moment they made contact, Felix looked startled.

That sensation, similar to a radio wave, reappeared, though compared to what he felt from Lacus, it was much weaker.

"Captain, is something the matter?"

Calmly, Aric broke the silence.

Hearing this, Felix snapped back to attention, looked at Aric, and withdrew his hand.

Gazing at Aric, Felix thought of a topic and asked,

"How is the plan coming along?"

After hearing this, Aric reported truthfully,

"It's currently in progress. We should be able to finalize everything in another two or three hours."

Nodding slightly, Felix patted Aric's shoulder and replied with a smile,

"Keep at it!"

After hearing this, Aric gave the captain a deep look, reflecting on his unusual behavior earlier, and couldn't help but mutter inwardly,

'What exactly was the captain trying to do just now?'

Felix looked at Aric and waved him off.

Seeing this, Aric raised his hand in a salute to Felix, then turned and left.

After watching Aric leave, Lacus turned to Felix and asked,

"Did you feel that sensation on Aric too?"

Hearing the question, Felix looked at his lover and nodded seriously. Seeing this, Lacus felt a slight disappointment, but it was quickly replaced by confusion.

Felix sat back down beside Lacus, organized his thoughts, and spoke,

"Lacus, what I felt from Aric just now was much weaker than what I felt from you.

If I were to rate it on a percentage scale, yours would be over seventy, while Aric's would be around forty or fifty at most."

Hearing these words, Lacus grew even more puzzled. After thinking carefully, she asked Felix,

"Felix, have you ever felt this sensation on yourself?"

"On myself?"

Muttering the words, Felix closed his eyes and focused intently on sensing.

As he concentrated, the feeling of burst mode suddenly emerged. Experiencing the burst mode state, Felix thought to himself,

'Why did burst mode activate all of a sudden?'

While muttering inwardly, Felix suddenly had a realization.

'Could that sensation be detecting the activity level of the Seed Factor in others' bodies?'

As he pondered, Lacus's voice sounded beside him,

"Felix, how is it?"

Felix listened to Lacus's voice and deactivated his burst mode, returning to normal as he opened his eyes. Seeing the concern, anticipation, and curiosity on Lacus's face, Felix thought for a moment before speaking.

"That feeling was like sensing the activity level of the Seed Factor in others' bodies."

Lacus fell silent upon hearing this.

She had heard of the Seed Factor before—it was said to be a special genetic factor discovered by geneticists while studying human genes, with varying activity levels in each person's body.

However, this was the first time she had heard of someone being able to sense the activity of the Seed Factor in others' bodies without the aid of scientific instruments.
