Chapter 33 - Chapter 33 Don't Die Here

For a moment, he didn't know whether he should ask Li Mo what the point of this strange action was.

After swallowing the tissue, Li Mo still made that familiar tearing sound in his throat, but he smiled and seemed to have no malice.

Yin Xiu stared at him in confusion. He slowly bent down and leaned closer to Yin Xiu, whispering in his ear, "Second rule of the Tomb Town: There are no female ghosts in the town. If you accidentally see a woman in white in the town, please avoid her gaze and do not listen to her voice. If she pesters you, please seek help from other townspeople."

Yin Xiu: ?

A slightly cool breath sprayed on his earlobe, making him confused and unable to concentrate. He had no idea why this person was reciting rules to him for no reason.

"The fifth rule of the cemetery town is that outsiders can be allowed to watch the sacrificial ceremony, but they must be strictly instructed not to violate the first and second rules."

Yin Xiu: ...

He realized in an instant that the white fog that had almost slaughtered most of the players during the day was actually a violation of rule two!

After the white mist rose, someone exclaimed that the woman's presence was a violation of the rules.

The rules only stated the appropriate response, and the punishment was imposed on the spot, so Yin Xiu instinctively thought that the rule ended there, forgetting that the fifth rule was still relevant.

The reason he was able to become a sacrifice is that what happened during the day made all the players now outsiders who violated the rules.

Seeing Yin Xiu deep in thought, Li Mo smiled and continued, "Rule Four: The town must be welcoming to outsiders, but if they violate the rules, please do not show mercy."

Yin Xiu realized that once they became outsiders who violated the rules, all the rules and regulations would be directed at them.

"So that's where the problem lies..." Yin Xiu muttered to himself, feeling that his mind had cleared up a bit.

He was momentarily distracted when Li Mo's bent-over body slowly pressed down, heavily pinning Yin Xiu against the door.

The chill seeped through his clothes, clinging to his skin like an invisible thread. Yin Xiu shivered. He didn't know whether he should draw his sword at Li Mo's sudden closeness, since the other party meant him no harm... and was even giving him a warning.

"Don't die here." He leaned close to Yin Xiu's ear and whispered, his cool cheek pressed against Yin Xiu's neck. Yin Xiu's vulnerable and sensitive vital spot was exposed to the presence of danger. Yin Xiu instinctively wanted to resist, but Li Mo seemed to be proving that he had no ill intentions towards him. He pressed himself closer to Yin Xiu and rubbed against his neck.

The chilling touch, like a snake slithering across his skin, made Yin Xiu shudder, and he couldn't resist the urge to draw his sword. "Can I go in now?"

Li Mo smiled and reached out to open the door behind Yin Xiu.

The weight of the two people against the door caused Yin Xiu to lose his balance and stumble backward, almost falling to the ground under Li Mo's weight, but he managed to regain his footing.

When the door opened, Zhong Mu and the little girl, who were sitting facing each other in the room, were staring blankly at them.

"Brother...why are you hugging him?" The little girl pointed at the two of them.

Li Mo's entire weight pressed down on him, and Yin Xiu had to catch him to avoid falling, making it look as if he was trying to hold Li Mo.

"No." Yin Xiu quickly let go and dodged to the side.

As soon as he let go, Li Mo stood up straight again, looking indifferent.

The little girl looked at the two of them with a puzzled expression, then jumped off the bed and ran over, immediately sticking to Yin Xiu's leg. "I want my brother to hug me too."

Li Mo smiled, staring at the little girl.

The little girl timidly clung to Yin Xiu's leg, staring at Li Mo but refusing to let go, "I want my brother to hug me..."

Ignoring their subtle rivalry, Yin Xiu turned to Zhong Mu inside the room and asked, "What are you doing in my room?"

Zhong Mu scratched his head and stood up from the bedside. "The other players all saw you participate in the sacrificial ceremony, right? Everyone gathered together to study the dungeon rules in order to speed up the progress. But we're all not very popular, and nobody wants to be with us, so I came over to have a private chat with you to discuss it."

To be honest, before Yin Xiu came back, he was really scared to be in a room with two weirdos.

Fortunately, as soon as Yin Xiu returned, Li Mo left the room. Being a little girl, she obediently played with her dolls and was no longer as terrifying as she had been the previous three days.

"Perfect timing, I also have some things I want to tidy up." Yin Xiu nodded, turned around and closed the door, dragging the little girl hanging from his leg as he strode towards the table in the room, looking at Zhong Mu, "Do you still have Mom's note on you?"

"Yes, yes, yes, I really can't remember so many rules. It's easy to get into trouble if I don't carry it with me, so I kept the note." Zhong Mu quickly took the note out of his pocket and was about to hand it to Yin Xiu when he cautiously glanced at the little girl next to him.

Yin Xiu bent down and carried the little girl to the bed, instructing her, "Sit here obediently, I have something to ask you later."

"Oh." The little girl sat there obediently, hugging her doll, very well-behaved.

Zhong Mu then handed the rule slip to Yin Xiu with peace of mind.

Yin Xiu unfolded the note and placed it on the table. He stared at the note and began to organize it. "There are currently six known rules in the dungeon: the dungeon survival rules, the dungeon completion rules, the two notes from Mom, the tomb town rules, and the house rules."

"The rules of the instance are the restrictions imposed on players by the instance, and players must abide by these rules."

"The note from the mother is given to the little girl, and the little girl must obey it, but it does not apply to the player. However, if the little girl violates the rules of the note, the player will also die because of the dungeon rules, since there is a rule in the player's rules to help the little girl complete the note."

"The rules of the cemetery town restrict the townspeople from outsiders, including the player, as well as the little girl and her mother."

Zhong Mu was taken aback, glancing at the little girl beside the bed out of the corner of his eye. "The little girl is also an outsider?"

"That's true, because the little girl isn't considered a resident of this town."

Zhong Mu frowned. "But she can turn into a monster too, just like the townspeople here."

Yin Xiu took out the paper and pen he had brought from the little girl's room from his pocket and listed the rules of the cemetery town and the rules of the house.

"I spoke with the mayor. The first rule of the cemetery town is that children cannot touch the altar at night, otherwise they will be cursed and turn into monsters." Yin Xiu turned to look at the little girl by the bed. "So you touched the altar in the square one night before, right?"

The little girl, suddenly called out, was startled. She fidgeted, pinching the rabbit in her arms, and stammered, "Um... I touched it..."

Zhong Mu seemed to be deep in thought, "So the little girl was a human before..."

"That's right. Outsiders who break the rules will be hunted down by the townspeople, which is why her mother hid her in a house outside town to prevent her from being discovered by others. And now, we players are also outsiders who break the rules."

Yin Xiu told Zhong Mu about what he had just discovered outside the door, and then pointed to the rules for clearing the dungeon.

Dungeon completion rule two: Have the little girl complete all the rules on the mother's notes.

His finger moved to his mother's second note.

Rule number four in Mom's note: Leave town at night.

Finally, he pointed to the rules of the cemetery town.

Cemetery Town Rule Six: Do not allow outsiders who accidentally violate the rules to leave alive.

After staring at the three rules in deep thought for a long time, Zhong Mu slowly said, "If we let the little girl leave the town according to Mother's rules, will the little girl die?"

Yin Xiu nodded, and the little girl by the bed turned deathly pale.

After scanning through all the rules, Zhong Mu suddenly realized something and pointed to the first rule for clearing the dungeon.

"Is the first rule for clearing the dungeon, 'Leave the monster's corpse on the altar in town,' referring to the little girl's corpse?!"

The little girl next to her shivered, her face turning pale.
