Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Nen Ability X Potion

An endless azure sky stretched out before him.

An airship cut through the white clouds, traveling beneath this blue expanse.

Kevin sat in his seat, took a sip of the coffee in front of him, and watched the scenery outside the window.

To be honest, before researching, he had never imagined that the aerial transportation in this world would be airships, something completely obsolete in his previous life, rather than the airplanes he was familiar with.

Ground transportation, however, was exactly the same as in his previous life.

Alas, perhaps this was simply the difference in worlds.

"Dear passengers, we will soon be arriving at Saba City. Passengers whose destination is Saba City, please prepare..."

Hearing the announcement, Kevin stood up and got ready.

He had quite a bit of luggage, having packed all the strange items from the jeep and brought them back.

He had only sold the jeep.

After getting off the airship, he collected his luggage, hailed a taxi, and arrived at his "home."

To be honest, this location in the city was quite remote, almost reaching the outermost ring of the city.

Colloquially known as the suburbs.

However, he was very satisfied with this detached house.

"Look around, brain, give me some memory fragments! You're a top student, don't act like an idiot."

The building was approximately three stories tall, with white exterior walls, and a yard enclosed by a two-meter-high wall.

Next to the yard was a separate garage.

After exploring inside and out for a while, Kevin, relying on fragmented memories, found a basement located underground.

It was very spacious, estimated to be half the size of the building, including the courtyard.

The entire basement floor, apart from the descending partition, looked exactly like a laboratory.

It wasn't an evil laboratory, but rather a place that seemed to research some kind of chemical agent.

There were various droppers, beakers, and a large number of unfamiliar materials.

A dedicated storage room was filled with biological materials soaking in an unknown liquid: unidentified animals, gigantic limbs, brain matter resembling human brains, eyeballs, and internal organs.

"It seems I'm not exactly a good person," Kevin couldn't help but quip.

This looked far too sinister. After exploring the house for so long, only here did some fragments surface in his mind, all of them showing him refining something on a potion table.

He now understood why, out of everything in the jeep, only various herbal powders were meticulously sorted and stored.

However, he had also discovered something in his personal file.

This body had graduated from the Royal Medical Academy of the Kukan'yu Kingdom, which Kevin had checked and found to be one of the top-ranked medical academies globally.

He was undoubtedly an academic prodigy, specializing in pharmacology.

He had indeed just seen several potions neatly arranged in a small refrigerated cabinet.

"Wait, if it's for experiments, wouldn't there be a rigorous lab journal?"

Kevin suddenly brightened, realizing this point, and quickly began searching.

He soon found a large number of experimental journals in a nearby cabinet.

These experimental journals were meticulously organized, containing various experiment records.

The records weren't strictly rigorous, with many casual notes and texts that seemed like bursts of inspiration.

Then, among these documents, he saw absurd terms.

"Life energy, Qi, Nen, Soul…"

Finally, as he delved deeper into the files, the most profound memories, almost like instincts, surfaced in his mind, so deep they were on par with basic common sense, language, and speech.

A superpower that felt almost innate after graduation.

It was so profound, like an instinct.

He could only clearly feel the emotions emanating from the memory fragments: joy, madness, pride.

Kevin raised his hands. This time, even without using the techniques he had briefly introduced earlier, he could clearly see his "Qi" surging out.

This Qi gathered together, forming a tangible substance, condensing into a solid entity.

A balance scale.

But what was different was that this balance scale had three pans arranged in a triangular formation, and the main structure was crystalline, with only the pans being different.

In clockwise order, they were made of gold, silver, and copper.

Below it, there was a base about ten centimeters thick, hollowed out, with a circular hole in the center.

"A Moment of Dream," Kevin murmured.

That was the name of this item.

And he knew exactly how to use this thing.

It looked like a balance scale, but it was actually a potion-making machine, like a witch's cauldron.

A [Potion Crafting Station].

Each use required placing three different [Materials] on the three different gold, silver, and copper pans.

And in the hollow space below, a suitable empty potion bottle had to be placed.

Then, by activating the Nen Ability, a potion with a certain degree of randomness could be crafted.

Wait.

"No, that's not right."

Kevin rubbed his head, his memories beginning to conflict with his current knowledge.

When he activated the Nen Ability, the item "A Moment of Dream" had already shown him how to use it.

But the method in his memory was different from what he knew now.

Why? Could he deceive himself? What would be the point?

In his original memory, the [Materials] that could be used for potion crafting could only be tangible biological products.

But now there was an additional option—minerals.

Of course, all materials needed to be something he owned, something that belonged to him.

The effects, which in his original memory were only known after crafting and drinking the potion, could now be roughly understood simply by placing the materials on the scale.

He could perform an action called [Estimation].

In any case, this seemed like an enhancement, didn't it? Why? Was it because of his transmigration?

To be honest, he didn't understand, and he didn't even deeply comprehend the specific information about Nen Ability.

However, looking at it this way, he roughly understood why people who used Qi were called Nen Users.

The object before him was undoubtedly generated by Qi. To be honest, this somewhat overturned his worldview.

Something like Qi could actually materialize into a physical object, possessing the ability to create, rather than just strengthening the body or being energy used to unleash attacks.

Was this reasonable?

Who cared? Perhaps this was just how other worlds were.

Kevin easily accepted this setting. After all, transmigration, possession, and body-snatching had all occurred, so this didn't seem so outrageous anymore.

Then, he began to experiment with his "superpower" tirelessly, while also gathering information.

The temptation of a normal person in a normal world gaining superpower-like abilities was simply too great.

If Kevin hadn't been afraid of encountering others with similar powers on the road and causing problems, he would have started using and training anytime, anywhere.

Now that he had returned to this "home," he finally felt a sense of relief.

Even though he was anxious, his body naturally relaxed.

Controlling this Qi to flow within his body was something he was already becoming somewhat proficient at, perhaps due to muscle memory, it felt very smooth.

He felt that since Qi was the power of life, strengthening his body with it should be the most basic ability.

It was completed very easily, and it felt very smooth. Was it also muscle memory?

Expelling Qi, however, seemed a bit more difficult.

Time passed amidst such training and experimentation.
