Cherreads

Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Planning

A rich lunch was laid out on the table.

Aegon refused the maid's feeding.

He personally cut a piece of bread, sandwiched a crispy-on-the-outside, tender-on-the-inside steak and a fried egg, and finally spread a layer of honey jam.

Taking a big bite, the tender and juicy steak exploded on his tongue with the mellow aroma of the egg.

The sweet and sour honey jam mixed with the steak, fragrant but not greasy.

Aegon let out a satisfied groan. There was no internet here, nor the various entertainment methods of later generations.

Enjoying delicious food became one of his main entertainments. Besides that, it was soaring on a Dragon or watching dancers perform.

After eating the last bite of bread, Aegon said to Alicent:

"I plan to go to Dragonstone. I'll ride a Dragon there after eating, and I might stay for a few days. I will ask Father for permission."

"What are you going to Dragonstone for?" Alicent frowned slightly.

"Just a small matter, don't worry, there's no danger."

Aegon picked up his milk, took a sip, and continued, "Ser Aric, please go ahead by boat. I will follow shortly."

Ser Aric nodded, didn't ask any more questions, and got up and left directly.

Alicent sighed inwardly.

Aegon was intelligent and precocious. When he was a child, he would share his daily life with her, but now he wasn't even willing to tell her what he was doing.

"Be careful."

Thousands of words ultimately condensed into just one phrase: Be careful.

"Oh right, remember to go see Helena and Aemond before you leave," Alicent added.

Aegon nodded and got up to go to the bedchamber.

As soon as he entered the door, a small figure rushed out from under the table and threw herself into his arms.

"Did you miss me, my lovely little Helena?" Aegon laughed.

Helena, only five years old, didn't speak, just held Aegon tightly, burying her little head in his arms.

"What's wrong? Did you dream of something scary again?"

Aegon gently patted Helena's back and asked softly.

Helena shook her head lightly, still holding Aegon and not speaking.

At this moment, Aemond, who was only four years old, raised his hands: "I! I missed Brother, I did!"

Seeing this, Aegon waved to him.

After Aemond shuffled over, Aegon rubbed his little head vigorously.

In the original novel, Aegon married Helena.

But after marriage, Aegon still didn't restrain himself and kept mistresses everywhere.

And Aemond didn't have his own Dragon until 120 AC.

During this period, Aegon not only didn't protect his younger brother Aemond, but even joined Rhaenyra's sons in humiliating Aemond.

It wasn't until 120 AC that Aemond tamed Vhagar, the strongest Dragon of that era.

Aegon still didn't restrain himself and continued to humiliate him wantonly.

It wasn't until the civil war broke out that the Aegon in the original story restrained his contempt for Aemond.

However, Aegon, as a transmigrator, certainly wouldn't be so stupid.

Even if he hadn't read the original, he would never let outsiders bully Aemond. This was a matter of principle, involving too much.

"Brother, my Dragon egg hasn't hatched yet. Rhaenyra said it's a dead egg and that I'll never have a Dragon in my life."

Rhaenyra had said this in the morning, and Aemond chose to complain the moment he saw Aegon.

Aegon's eyes flickered, and he put away his smile. He looked at Aemond and asked seriously, "There's a fifty percent chance a Dragon egg will be a dead egg, it has nothing to do with you. Do you want a Dragon?"

Hearing this, Aemond was stunned for a moment, then nodded solemnly.

"I want a Dragon, but Mother won't let me go to the Dragonpit, nor will she let me go to Dragonmount on Dragonstone."

"I'm going to Dragonmount later. I know there's a gentle female Dragon there, very big, very strong," Aegon said in a low voice.

"Go, I want to go!" Aemond nodded without hesitation.

"Wait for me here, I'll go ask Father for permission first," Aegon instructed.

Aegon found Viserys, who was assembling a model of the Valyria Freehold.

"Father, I need to go to Dragonstone," he stated his purpose directly.

When Aegon was five, he rode a Dragon to the Wall in the North, almost scaring Viserys and Alicent to death.

Since then, Viserys had ordered the Dragon Guard at the Dragonpit not to let Aegon ride a Dragon without permission.

Viserys frowned and put down the Dragon model in his hand.

"What are you going to Dragonstone for?" he asked in confusion, "Your sister is getting married next month, you are not allowed to run around, you are not allowed to go."

Aegon's mouth twitched, and he said helplessly, "I'll just play for a few days, half a month at most, okay?"

"What's so fun about Dragonstone? It's all bare rocks. I think you just want to ride a Dragon and go crazy elsewhere, you are not allowed to go!"

Viserys had an expression that saw through Aegon's little trick. Last time Aegon said the same thing and ended up sneaking off to the Wall, almost worrying him to death.

One must know, there is an unknown darkness outside the Wall!

Aegon I "the Conqueror," the founder of the Targaryen dynasty, once left behind the prophecy of "A Song of Ice and Fire."

He dreamt of winter and darkness coming from the North, destroying everything in the world.

It was precisely because of this dream that Aegon I Targaryen chose to unify Westeros, ending the civil war among the Seven Kingdoms to gather all strength to resist that unknown terror!

The prophecy of "A Song of Ice and Fire" was only passed down among the Kings. Viserys told the prophecy to Rhaenyra, hoping she would understand the responsibility she was about to bear.

But Aegon was not the heir to the throne, so he certainly couldn't tell Aegon these things. He could only strictly forbid him from going to the Wall.
