Today is the day! I am both excited and nervous for how today will go. I did find a dress with the help of Ari, she had came back to help Mari with final preparations and I guess the twins told her while she was over their house, we were going on a date but I needed help picking out a dress. As soon as she found out she came right over.
I honestly love Ari, she's like a big sister to me. Even though she found the love of her life and moved in with him three years ago we still keep in contact. She helps give advice about the girly stuff I can't talk to the twins about and the stuff I refuse to talk to my mom about. Don't get me wrong, I love my mom and go to her about most things but there are just somethings you DON'T talk to your mom about. For example when I first started feeling butterflies in my stomach and a throbbing sensation down there when the twins or honestly any boys made certain comments I went to Ari to find out what it meant and how to deal with it. She explained how it was a natural part of growing up, and how we all have needs and the best way to deal with those needs. At first I was embraced by the conversation but she was always so kind and understanding that I got over the embarrassment quickly. When I was old enough she bought me my first toy. Told me it will help with the sensations until I am ready to go that far with someone special. Which she emphasized someone special, she told me the first time shouldn't be given away lightly since not everyone will treasure me the way I should be so that if and when I decide I am ready I should make sure whoever I choose, is worthy of the honor because the heartbreak that comes to giving it to the wrong person is harder than a normal breakup, her words. She said she was speaking from personal experience but never went into details. I respected her for that and never pushed. It's also why I plan to stay a virgin for a long time. I don't know if I will wait until I am married but I will definitely wait for someone special enough to come around. Honestly if Alex and Ash weren't my best friends it would probably be one of them. I shake that thought out of my head because I don't need anything to make me ruin our friendship. Even though they say that could never happen I somehow still don't believe it, if they ever heard me talk about wanting either one of them to take my virginity they would instantly drop me as a friend. No one in their right mind thinks like that about their best friends.
Anyways, once I did all my duties at the sanctuary, got some cuddles in with Sam and Dean, I went home to get ready. Mom insisted we go to get our hair and nails done. She said every girl deserves to be pampered before a date, even though she knows it's not technically a date but just a ruse to get the twins to the venue for their party. Said it didn't matter because either way I was dressing up in a pretty dress tonight. I just laughed, shook my head and let her bring me to get everything done.
I went with a very traditional French style nail for both my hands and feet. My hair was done in a loose mermaid braid updo. I went with a classic smokey eye look and light pink lipstick. My shoes weren't too crazy either, I decided on a simple black block heel so that I could have a little height but still feel comfortable enough to dance and move around in. I decided not to wear any jewelry, figured I didn't need it. If it was my birthday party I was dressing up for it would be different but since it's for the twins I figured if they wanted me to wear any they would have made it known when I asked for suggestions on what to wear.
For the dress I did what Alex asked and got something that will show my collarbone ond neck, still not sure why he requested that specific thing but okay. My dress isn't black or red, so I feel slightly bad I didn't get what Ash asked, but I have a feeling he was just saying it to get a rise out of me. I actually went with a Navy Blue, cold shoulder flare sleeves flowy dress that has a slit. I figured it was just elegant enough to work for a "fancy dinner" but also worked perfectly for a black tie event. I just hope the twins love it just as much as I do, this is my first real formal dress so I am still a little nervous about it.
As I walk downstairs my parents are chatting and when they hear me coming the both stop and look up. My mom has tears in her eyes and my dad looks like he is in awe.
"Wow," Dad says, "Looks like my little wolf is all grown up. I'm kinda glad Sam and Dean have scared off all your suitors." Making both mom and me laugh. "I'm also glad this isn't a real date otherwise I would have to scare off your best friends."
I just shake my head. "Dad, you know you will always be the number one guy in my heart, besides, Ash and Alex don't see me like that." I roll my eyes at my dad's words.
"Sure Little Wolf, whatever you say."
"What's that supposed to mean?" I raise a brow towards my dad.
"It means, I was a teenage boy once, and I am a man now, I can tell when a guy loves a girl."
I snort at that. "Dad they may love me but not in the way you think." He just smiles and shakes his head, effortlessly stopping the argument. He has said a few times over the years that he believes the twins love me but I don't buy it.
"The boys will be here any minute to pick you up. I am going to go wait in the car so they don't see me all dolled up and that as soon as you leave, your dad and I will head to the venue. Make sure you get them to take the long way, okay dear?"
"Yes, Mom, you look beautiful too by the way."
"Thank you sweetheart." She says then leaves.
Shortly after the doorbell rings, and I go to answer it but Dad stops me. He said he has to answer so that he can "lay down the law" about the date tonight and also get pictures of their faces when the twins see me. I laugh and head to the bathroom to check my makeup one last time, figued it was as goid as an excuse as any.
I hear dad open the door and welcome the twins in, He told them I was in the bathroom and would be right out and to have a seat in the living room. I hear dad give his "speech" and chuckle to myself. I have a feeling when I go on my first actual real date with someone it will be my dad and the twins sitting in the living room with whoever the poor soul is giving him the same speech. I shake my head at the thought.
I walk out of the bathroom and into the living room to hear two intakes of breath and the sound of a shutter going off, Dad really did take a picture. I look up to two very stunned pairs of eyes. I clear my throat and ask nervously.
"Do I look okay?"
"Okay? Angel you look like well and Angel."
"Yeah sweetheart you are gorgeous. We've never seen you so dressed up. I'm glad you suggested a fancy dinner instead of a normal hangout for our birthday."
I blush and fully look up at them. They look really good as well. Asher is wearing a fitted black tux with a white shirt, white pocket square and a Navy blue tie, giving him the elegance of a proper gentleman. Alexander is in a Navy Blue suit, with a black shirt and black vest with a black pocket square and as he said no tie.
"Thank you. You two, look nice yourselves, both of you clean up well."
Dad clears his throat, "Okay you three, let's get a picture of you all on your first date. Your mom might kill me if I don't."
"Daddddd!" I screetch at him. "It's a birthday dinner from me to them."
"To-may-toe, to-mah-toe." He responds, causing the guys to laugh and me to roll my eyes.
The twins both take there respective sides and we all smile for the camera.
"Alright you three have fun, I got to go finish getting ready for my date with your mom, she will probably kill me if I don't come pick her up from the salon soon." Dad ushers us out the door and waves goodbye while also giving me a wink.
We get in the car, apparently the twins hired someone to drive us. So I leaned forward to whisper that I needed him to take the long way for a surprise for the twins. He nodded his head and I sat back.
"What was that about?"
"Just needed to tell him the route we need to take."
Neither one questioned. We all just sat in the back and chatted about our day, what the twins are hoping for this next year especially since they will be legal adults. I was a little sad they were planning to go to some training program one weekend a month but I understood it was important to them. I guess they both sensed my sadness because they both took a hand and started rubbing circles with their thumbs, it was nice and comforting. Soon enough we were at the venue, Alex got out first and walked around to Ash's side as Ash got out. Both of them held a hand out to me to help me out. Once we were all out we started walking towards the restaurant part, once inside I gave the hostess our name and she nodded, and lead us to the back room holding the door open for us but also secretly signaling to everyone inside we were here.
"SURPRISE!"
