"What!?"
Mikoto and Fugaku exclaimed in surprise.
But while Mikoto started fussing over Itachi, Fugaku quickly gained composure.
"You are misunderstanding. His teammates and Jonin-sensei were just killed yesterday on a mission. He is sad, but he is not fragile like—"
Hatake Sakumo.
Fugaku stopped before completing his sentence.
I could only sigh at Fugaku's parenting.
Well, I did what I could.
Let's get at the main matter.
"Have you investigated who was behind the Kyuubi attack?"
"The Uchiha clan has nothing to do with it."
"But the Sharingan—"
"Don't you have Sharingan too? The person might have stolen the Sharingan. And, it's not like just anyone with Sharingan can control Kyuubi. Whoever did it must be at the caliber of Madara in terms of genjutsu.
Sharingan is just a tool. It's strength depends on the user. And no one in Uchiha clan is strong enough. Even me."
I nodded my head.
Alright. So a stolen Sharingan can be used as not only a Kekkai Genkai theft crime, but a major suspect of the Kyuubi attack.
And given that Danzo has a Sharingan and must have done something against Minato-sensei to get rid of competition of his delusions of becoming Hokage, it will be plenty of justification to kill him. Even if Hiruzen tries to object against it.
"Well then, I will be going."
I got up and started to leave.
But just as reached the door, Fugaku asked me.
"What do you think of the current situation?"
"... You shouldn't have agreed to settle in the village's outskirts if you didn't do anything wrong."
Saying that, I left.
I can't really speak my mind directly due to Zetsu spying.
So, this should let Obito think that I am suspicious of the Uchiha clan, and make Fugaku atleast somewhat cautious against accepting unreasonable things just to show that Uchiha clan is innocent in this matter.
While thinking about the next encounter with Danzo, I arrived home. But he was surprisingly not waiting here to know about my conversation with Fugaku.
That's weird.
I don't think Danzo is patient enough for this behaviour.
Did he already hear our conversation?
...Does he have a Hyuga to spy on Uchihas with Byakugan?
I was on active lookout for a small bug that is usually not used by Aburame clan. Which poisoned Shisui in the original. But it wasn't there. Danzo must have been cautious of Fugaku realizing about it. So it's likely that Danzo wouldn't use it to spy inside Fugaku's house.
And though the Hyuga clan is really bad, it takes its non-interference seriously. That's why there is no Hyuga in the ANBU.
But knowing Danzo, it might be entirely possible that he has a Hyuga subordinate.
Faking the death of a branch family member in order to 'free' them from Hyuga clan would be a rather easy method of recruitment for Danzo.
...So I need to be cautious against this possibility.
Sigh. Let's just focus on training for now.
I have 15 days of break, so I should first decide on what to do during this time.
The immediate thing that I need to do is get over the over-reliance on Sharingan.
While it's convenient, it takes up quite a lot of chakra, even if I activate it only for Chidori.
It consumes around 1.5 times of my chakra in performing Chidori with Sharingan then without Sharingan.
So first thing first, I should focus on developing Purple Lightning to replace Chidori.
The main problem with Chidori is that to keep it in shape for maximum piercing power, the movement speed needs to be high, in a straight line. It is not necessarily required to do that, but the power decreases, and the shape becomes less lethal than a normal Chidori should be. It wouldn't be able to be called Raikiri, the jutsu which can even cut through lightning, without the movement speed.
Lightning release is by definition wild and difficult to focus at one point.
There is no such Lightning Ball jutsu like in Boruto filler. Because it's difficulty would be S-rank, not C-rank.
Anyway, I need to tame the lightning to stay in perfect shape without having to rely on my movement speed.
And there is something I have in theory.
For training lightning chakra nature, we imagine chakra rubbing against each other. I know chakra is energy, not matter, but this feels displacing the electrons in a way like using a ruler on hair.
What is it called again? Static electricity?
Yeah. Probably that.
It doesn't create magnetic field. There was never any effect on my metal equipments not in direct contact while using any Lightning release jutsus.
But the lightning style Rasengan certainly did create a magnetic field.
The spinning in Rasengan must have forced the electrons that were static into motion. Thus creating current electricity.
So, I have to somehow make my chakra conductive, and run current electricity through it.
Meaning, my chakra shouldn't do the usual rubbing back and froth. Instead, it should rub while flowing.
Well, it's just a theory, where I am imagining an energy as matter. It is wrong to imagine it like this, but it's worth trying.
I should start from somewhere.
Let's see...
First, I did the full handsigns of Chidori instead of the short one.
Blue lightning cackled on my hand. Loud and noisy, as if the crying of a thousand birds at the same time.
It is stable in my hand. Like static.
Let's see...
Now, let's imagine this as having two portions, the inner layer which is directly over my hand, and the outer layer being the rest.
Let's not think about maintaining the sharpness right now. Just changing it from static to current electricity.
Maintaining control, Iet's move the outer layer away from the inner layer—!
*Boom!*
Just as I did that, most of the outer layer came off, and flew away at a speed and hit a tree. Destroying it. As if I had launched a canon.
And there were purple sparks above the inner layer and the back of the launched outer layer.
I cancelled my jutsu, and looked at my hand.
Even though I have gained resistance to Lightning that my hand doesn't get charred while using Chidori now, I just got some charring.
Thankfully, I have already copied Mystical Palm jutsu. So I don't need to go to hospital for it.
Aside from the charring that my hand received, my metal forehead protector moved rather harshly too.
Interesting.
