Natsu and the others watched as Kael unleashed his power, all of them feeling a bit shaken by the display.
It was the first time Lucy had ever seen Kael fly into such a rage; he was firing off magic that rivaled ultimate moves one after another, as if it cost him nothing at all.
It turned out that when Kael entered a killing state, he became terrifying to this extent.
Then again, it wasn't surprising; not even mentioning the rest of the guild, Kael's girlfriend Mira had been absorbed this time. He was undoubtedly anxious and fuming deep down.
But Kael being truly angry was, frankly, a little too frightening.

Kael continued his relentless bombardment of the Royal Army.
"Defense———!!"
Scores of soldiers raised their energy shields in a desperate attempt to block.

Those energy shields might have held against most magic, but against an attack of Kael's caliber, they were as fragile as paper, shattered with ease.
"What the hell is going on?!!"
"How can this guy use magic without any magical tools?!"
"And his magic is way too powerful!!"
"He's a monster———!!"
The soldiers were beginning to break; every single one of Kael's strikes was catastrophic.
King Faust and his inner circle noticed the situation immediately.
"It's the leftovers of Earthland's Fairy Tail!!"
Being able to use magic without relying on tools could only be done by those mages from Earthland who possessed internal mana.
"Your Majesty! Let me handle him!"
The Captain of the First Magic War Division, Panther Lily, stepped forward to volunteer.
"Mhm. For a single person to dare act so brazenly here—eliminate him!"
"Understood!"
Panther Lily spread his wings and dove toward the battlefield below.
In an instant, Lily appeared before Kael, his sword expanding to a massive size as he swung it down toward Kael's position.
Kael's figure blurred, dodging the strike with ease.
"I am the Captain of the First Magic War Division, Panther Lily. You're a member of Earthland's Fairy Tail, aren't you? I won't let you run wild in the Kingdom of Edolas."
"Ohhh!"
"Great! It's Captain Lily! Captain Panther Lily is here!"
The Royal Army soldiers cheered, thinking they had finally found their savior.
"Lily?"
Kael narrowed his eyes. Seeing the figure before him, he remembered the cat's identity—the one who would later follow Gajeel and eventually become a member of Fairy Tail.
"If you don't want to die, get out of my way."
"Bastard!"
Lily raised his massive blade and swung it down at Kael again.
Kael stood his ground, simply raising a hand.
Lily's giant sword came to a dead stop just before it could make contact with Kael's palm.
"What?!"
Lily was stunned. What kind of magic was this?
Kael pointed a finger toward him.
"Cursed Technique Reversal: Red."
A small crimson sphere shot toward Lily.
Lily's expression shifted instantly, and he frantically brought his sword up to block.
The red orb slammed into the blade of the giant sword.
Lily felt a horrifying force erupt from the sphere—a power he couldn't possibly withstand. His body was forced backward, his feet skidding across the ground.
CRACK! CRACK!!
Cracks began to spiderweb across the surface of the giant sword.
Then! SHATTER————!
The massive blade exploded into fragments.
"Aaaaauuughhhh!!"
BOOM BOOM BOOM!!
Lily screamed as he was blasted through the air, crashing deep into the palace walls.
"Captain Lily!!"
The soldiers gasped in horror. They couldn't believe their powerful Captain had been blown away in a single hit.
"What?!"
"Even Lily was..."
Watching from above, King Faust and the other division captains felt their faces pale. Lily was incredibly strong, yet he hadn't even been a match for the opponent's opening move.
King Faust spoke with a grim expression: "Deploy the Legion corps. Erza, Sugarboy—you two go and kill that man."
"Understood!"
Erza and Sugarboy moved out immediately.
"Just to be safe, go and prepare the Dorma Anim."
"But... that's a forbidden art!! Article 23 of the Royal Charter states..."
"Just go and prepare it!"
Faust roared. Kael's appearance had made him feel a genuine threat to his life; he wasn't sure these useless soldiers could hold him back, and he refused to leave his life in the hands of others.
By now, the chaos in the palace had caught the attention of many, and crowds of people were screaming and fleeing for their lives.
"What happened? What's going on?!"
Gajeel grabbed a passerby and demanded answers.
"The palace! Someone is attacking the palace!!"
"Attacking the palace? Could it be..."
An image of a certain person flashed through Gajeel's mind, and he immediately sprinted toward the palace grounds.
Before long, Gajeel reached the vicinity of the palace and saw a familiar figure in the distance, tearing through everything with reckless abandon. Every move caused terrifying destruction.
"Kael! It really is him!"
Gajeel had seen Kael in this form once before, during the Battle of Fairy Tail. Kael had used this state to take down the entire Thunder Palace surrounding Magnolia in a single strike.
Only this man would be bold enough to take on the entire Kingdom of Edolas by himself.
Gajeel immediately prepared to jump in and help. Even though he had only recently joined the guild, he was a member of Fairy Tail now.
"Gajeel!!"
Just as he was about to move, a surprised voice called out.
Gajeel looked to the side and saw Natsu's group standing nearby.
"Fire Dragon?!"
Wendy waved: "Mister Gajeel!"
"Gajeel!"
Lucy pouted; she still remembered him stealing her mission.
Happy greeted him: "Gajeel, you're here too! How did you get here?"
"That guy Mystogan sent me. By the way, Fire Dragon, why aren't you helping? Did you lose your nerve?"
"Shut your mouth! We can't use magic!"
"That's right! We want to help Mister Kael, but we can't use magic in this world."
Hearing this, Gajeel remembered that Mystogan had given him something. It was originally meant for Kael, but looking at the guy now, it was clear Kael didn't need it at all.
"Take this."
Gajeel tossed a small bottle to Natsu.
"What's this?"
"Mystogan gave it to me. It was supposed to be for Kael, but he clearly doesn't need it. It's a medicine that lets us use magic in this world."
"What?!"
Natsu and the others' eyes lit up. Being unable to use magic in this world had been incredibly frustrating for them.
The group quickly took the pills and swallowed them.
Whoosh————!!
Violent flames erupted from Natsu's body.
Natsu clenched his fists with excitement and let out a loud roar:
"It's back! It's all back!!"
