Chapter 128 - The Terrifying Stats of the Borisin — An Annihilation Campaign Turns into a Rout

Siracusa, Volsinii.

After a round of manpower mobilization, an annihilation force composed of gang members from Siracusa's major families quietly gathered outside this city, which had been seized not long ago.

Taking advantage of their familiarity with the terrain, the combined forces of the families successfully bypassed checkpoints and guards, infiltrating the city in batches.

"According to intelligence, the number of enemies left behind in Volsinii isn't large—no more than twenty in total. They're mainly concentrated on the eastern bank. Once the operation begins, we move fast and kill them as quickly as possible to retake control of the city."

"If conditions allow, capture a few of them alive for interrogation. We need to find out where their headquarters is, and who's leading them."

Several family cadres responsible for on-site command exchanged a few words, confirmed the details, then began issuing orders to their subordinates, preparing to launch a surprise attack on the enemies stationed within the city.

"Remember their features. All enemies are young, white-haired female Lupo. As soon as you encounter anyone matching that description, attack immediately."

"Understood!"

The gang members assembled for the operation were brimming with confidence. After all, their force numbered several thousand, all elites drawn from the major families, while the enemy amounted to fewer than twenty people. With such a disparity, failure didn't even seem like a possibility.

Boom!

As the operation commenced, some gang members carrying explosives detonated charges throughout the city to create chaos. The rest surged onto the streets, ignoring civilians still present, converging on the eastern bank from all directions.

At the same time, the Borisin stationed within the city revealed themselves.

With such commotion erupting inside the city, it was impossible for them not to notice.

Watching the massive extermination force of gang members closing in from all sides, the Borisin girls' eyes flashed with dense killing intent.

To be able to organize a force of this scale within Siracusa, there was no doubt that the major families were behind this operation.

First creating chaos, then launching an open encirclement—clearly, the enemy intended to wipe them out completely.

Faced with such overconfidence, the Borisin guarding the city felt little emotional fluctuation. What truly ignited their killing intent was the fact that these enemies—and the masterminds hiding behind them—dared to obstruct the will of their Benevolent Father and Father.

To seize Siracusa and take control of its government was the Benevolent Father's will. The entire operation was personally overseen by their Father. And they, the Borisin born of transformation, were extensions of both their wills.

Against enemies who dared oppose that will, they would show no mercy.

Thus, as bolts of lightning crashed down from the sky, the Borisin did not retreat in the face of the overwhelming numbers. Instead, they charged straight into the crowd, launching a counterattack.

Slash! Slash! Slash!

Figures wreathed in crackling lightning darted across the battlefield like phantoms. Wherever their claws passed—whether enemy bodies, weapons, armor, or even nearby buildings—everything was cleanly severed.

The Borisin stationed in the city carried no weapons.

Or rather—their bodies themselves were the finest weapons.

Empowered by the lightning surging through their bodies, they attacked at blistering speed. And when enemy strikes occasionally landed on them, the Borisin girls neither dodged nor evaded.

There was no need.

Unless an injury severed a limb or destroyed the brain—causing a temporary loss of combat capability—even wounds to vital areas like the heart or throat were no different from scratches to Borisin with their terrifying regeneration.

Dodging would only waste time.

They would rather kill a few more enemies and end the battle faster.

To the Borisin, this was simply normal combat.

But from the enemy's perspective—from the gang members being slaughtered—the scene was pure horror.

A group of monsters with overwhelming physical strength and combat ability, whose every strike could effortlessly wipe out large numbers of allies, and who could not be killed no matter how much they were attacked.

These gang enforcers, who at most had fought rival families in street wars, had never faced anything like this.

If the enemy were merely strong, if attacks could still meaningfully injure them, then with superior numbers the gang members might have mustered the courage to fight back.

But the Borisin's regeneration was utterly despair-inducing.

Blades, axes, gunfire, Originium Arts—wounds inflicted one second were gone the next, as if nothing had happened. Injuries paid for with blood and lives simply vanished without a trace.

That crushing sense of futility and helplessness was impossible to put into words. It effortlessly eroded any fighting spirit, extinguishing the will to resist.

And so, the tide of battle quickly reversed.

In just a few minutes, what had begun as an annihilation campaign launched by a massive gang force turned into a rout—an escape attempt under the relentless slaughter carried out by the Borisin guarding the city.

Meanwhile, in another city closest to Volsinii, the heads of the major families gathered with what remained of their personal guards, waiting for news from the extermination force.

Unlike the overconfident rank-and-file, the family heads knew roughly how strong the enemy was. None of them harbored blind optimism about this operation.

After all, according to Madam Sicilia's intelligence, these unknown invaders—uniformly young, white-haired female Lupo—possessed terrifying strength. Twelve members of the Great Wolf's Maw had nearly been wiped out after encountering just two of them.

And based on reports from spies in the occupied cities, the enemy's numbers were estimated to be at least several hundred.

At this point, the family heads could only pray that not every single one of these enemies was as terrifying as the two who had massacred the Great Wolf's Maw—that such encounters were exceptions, not the rule.

No—surely they had to be exceptions.

After all, the Great Wolf's Maw was Madam Sicilia's personally trained elite guard—the strongest, most refined private force in all of Siracusa. Each member was a one-in-a-thousand expert. How could a whole group of monsters capable of crushing the Great Wolf's Maw possibly exist?

What the family heads did not know was that while they waited for news, figures were already emerging from the shadows around their encampment.

With the reconnaissance and teleportation abilities of the Shadow Troops, dozens of Borisin had silently surrounded the site where the family heads and their guards were gathered.

Then, Lappland appeared.

Gazing at the encampment—and at the family heads and guards inside, still completely unaware of their predicament—the girl's lips curled into a manic smile.

Lightning gathered in her hand, crackling with power, ready to be unleashed.
