Nora's POV
Knowing I'm essentially living on borrowed time before the next attack, I decide to tackle some household tasks and bring out the decorations. Kevin offers his assistance, and together we manage to complete two loads of laundry, vacuum and mop the entire downstairs, and finish washing and storing all the dishes.
James remains holed up in his office throughout the morning, only emerging to join me on the sofa during my lunch break. The persistent nausea hits me again like a freight train, and I end up drifting off for nearly two hours.
Once I wake up, it's back to work. Kevin and I retrieve most of the Halloween decorations from the basement storage. There's something both pleasant and surreal about maintaining my regular routine with him present. It's glaringly apparent that he lacks experience with anything remotely human-like, having spent his existence observing rather than participating in mortal activities.
