Nora's POV
"Mission accomplished." Kevin materializes in the office doorway, clutching a massive black stone. Water streams from his clothes, pooling on the polished floor, while strands of seaweed cling to his jacket.
"Hold on...you actually dove into the ocean to retrieve that?" Katherine's voice rises an octave, her eyes practically bulging from their sockets.
"What other method did you expect?" Kevin responds matter-of-factly, apparently oblivious to the extraordinary nature of his actions. "Any luck locating a goat?"
"Gideon stepped outside to make some calls," I explain. "He'll return shortly."
The office doors swing open moments later as Charlette enters carrying a laden food tray. She stops dead in her tracks, surveying Kevin's waterlogged state, then sighs deeply. "Your meal, sweetheart."
