Chapter 13 - Encounter

The hand wriggled in agony as it was cut to shreds.

It flesh ruptured by the bare hands of the one attacking.

The god viewed this sight in pleasure.

The man in the butler outfit laughed.

And laughed.

He could sense it.

The terror of the hand.

The hand that had been given the greatest gift.

The most beautiful gift.

The most valuable gift.

The gift of blood.

The god looked at this sight, smiling.

*smash*

The hand smacked the ground, breaking everything near it.

It was nothing but instinct.

Pure instincts gained by the countless death its owner had gone through.

Yet it was not enough.

It could never be enough to match the presence of the one who had been hunting for all his life.

The one who valued his life while fighting for God.

The one obsessed with God.

The one who is deranged.

The laughter continued to echo through the dark hallway.

The god shifted his sight to the ones running from the sight of the battle.

The god was amused.

The god felt cheated.

The hand tired to grab the incoming fist.

It did grab it.

Held it.

And then was dissected.

Slowly but surely it was dissected.

Into small pieces by the man.

Laughing.

Laughing.

Laughing.

*

I looked at the sun.

It is smiling at me.

I thought.

The sun.

Always so far away witnessing everything.

What a piece of shit it was.

To have been risen from the ground by the gods only to abandon the gods and pretend to be one itself.

Truly a shit.

I thought.

I looked around.

The forest remained as unexplorable as ever before.

But atleast this time I had a general idea of where I was heading.

I could feel eyes looking at me from afar.

I knew who it was.

I thought for a second.

Then continued.

I wasn't approached.

My task hadn't been fulfilled.

So I must fulfill it.

For my dream.

For her.

For the dream I inherited.

I approached the small deserted village that existed near the edge of the forest.

I searched for a while.

I needed clothing.

Clothes and corpse.

Any corpse would do.

My body was barely functioning.

I needed life.

Life which I could gain from a corpse.

Eventually I found a small hut.

It had clothing for me to wear though it didn't have any corpses.

I knew it would be hard to find any.

Afterall in a forest, even bones are eaten.

I sat down for a bit .

My body needed to heal before I could fight them.

It had been utterly destroyed when I enchanted it.

But I had to enchant it again.

If I didn't, I wouldn't be able to win.

I pulled out my dagger.

I had enchanted it with ice.

It could freeze small wounds. Nothing great.

The only true great enchantment I could do was on my body but the price for it was also great.

I sighed.

I was tired.

Tired of this hell.

Or maybe I wasn't.

Who knows.

I certainly don't.

Fuck.

I pulled myself up.

If I can't find any corpses I'd simply have to make them.

Easier said than done.

But it could be done.

I went out.

The bastard sun still shone.

In its light many 'things' took refuge.

Or I should say from its light.

The animal that were affected by madness hid from their prey.

I hid from them.

Seeking them out.

Slowly I slaughtered them.

Small birds, rabbits, even lizards.

It didn't matter what it was , I struck regarding.

Drinking and feeding on their life tk recover my own soul.

In this sense one could mistake me for a vampire.

Soon my soul was replenished.

And the time to fight had arrived.

"Death..."

The smell of death was near.

Black. Violent. Red.

All three came from one singular direction.

Each step I took felt as if the ground beneath me was forcing my life away.

Each step.

Each long step.

Before I realised it , I could see them.

Their breaths, dark.

Their eyes unwavering.

Their resolve steeled.

But something felt off.

Something was off.

I didn't know what.

But it was definitely "off".

I held my dagger in my hands.

I knew whom I had to strike first.

I aimed.

My body was filled with resolve.

The resolve to be one step closer to my dream.

And I struck.

The man with the bow.

I struck him.

He didn't move.

Nor did the two sitting next to him.

No they didn't move.

They couldn't move.

They had died.

All three of them.

Dead.
