"So that's how it is. Is it possible that Giovanni also came from another world, or maybe someone with advanced technology is impersonating him?" Raj muttered while stroking his chin.
"I'm not entirely sure about that either, but his strength and the power behind him should not be underestimated."
"You also said Team Rocket is currently being managed by Giovanni. Then what about your father? Logically speaking, Kenji should be the one managing Team Rocket. Why are you hiding your identity?" Cassidy asked with confusion.
"I don't know either. My father has always hidden his identity and lived in Pallet Town. He only began acting after I started my journey, but he never tells me his plans or goals," Raj said helplessly.
"I honestly don't even know if he really treats me as his son. If he told me something, at least I could help him, but he never says anything."
"He probably doesn't want to involve you. With his ability he would not allow you to live anonymously otherwise. Since that is the case, you should not expose yourself too early," Cassidy replied calmly.
"Then what is the truth behind the legend of this place?" Raj asked.
"I encountered Gastly by chance. My lingering resentment allowed me to cooperate with Gastly to create this legend so that one day the truth could be discovered. I apologize if I disturbed your companions," Cassidy said with a faint smile.
"That makes sense. Otherwise if someone from two thousand years ago knew my parents, that would be far too strange," Raj muttered.
As Raj continued walking with Ash and the others, his thoughts kept drifting.
"Forget it. I'll deal with those things when the time comes."
"Oh right, System, do you have a task panel? I could complete missions and earn points," Raj asked mentally.

"Then help me check something. Haunter needs to be traded to evolve into Gengar. Do you have an item that allows Haunter to evolve without trading? I don't want to trade my Haunter to anyone," Raj said.

"Two hundred thousand points? That's outrageous. This System Shop is basically robbery," Raj complained.
"I'll wait until I have enough points later. Haunter still needs more training before evolving anyway."
"As for now, I'll continue traveling with Ash and the others. Ash is the Child of Destiny in this world. His luck is incredible. Even though he's unreliable sometimes, he has remained the protagonist through so many seasons. Staying near him should bring plenty of opportunities."
"Even if I walk the villain's path, I still need strong bonds with my Pokémon. Otherwise I'll just be pretending. Following Ash also helps me train and collect Gym Badges. Later I may even gain his support against future enemies, including the strange Giovanni Cassidy mentioned."
Before long Raj and the others reached a cliffside path.
"Wow, that's scary. This drop must be several hundred meters deep," Ash said while looking down the cliff.
"If someone fell from here they would definitely die," Raj said while stepping back slightly.
"Yes. If we continue along this cliffside path we'll reach Saffron City," Brock said while checking the map.
"Huh? What are those flying in the sky? Are they Butterfree?" Raj asked while looking upward.
"So many," Misty exclaimed.
"It's because Butterfree's mating season has arrived," Brock explained.
"Mating season?" Misty asked.
"Yes. During this season Butterfree search for partners and then fly across the ocean to lay their eggs. That's how they preserve their species."
"They have to cross such a huge ocean?" Raj asked in surprise.
"Exactly. It's amazing," Brock said with a smile.
"What about your Butterfree, Ash?" Raj asked.
"If Butterfree doesn't cross the ocean it won't be able to reproduce. You have to understand that," Brock said seriously.
"Oh no," Ash said while looking at his Poké Ball.
"Hey look. There's a balloon rental station ahead. Should we rent one?" Misty asked while pointing forward.
"During this season many people use balloons. Some release their Butterfree while others come just for sightseeing. Watching from the sky is very romantic. Let's go," Brock said excitedly.
Soon they were flying above the coastline in a hot-air balloon.
"Wow. What an incredible view," Raj said while looking across the vast ocean.
"Look. We can see the Butterfree. They're so beautiful," Misty said happily.
"There are so many pairs. Their eyes even look like hearts," Raj said in amazement.
"Ash. It's time," Brock said.
"Alright. Go Butterfree," Ash said while releasing Butterfree into the sky.
"Go find a partner."
"You can do it, Butterfree," Misty encouraged him.
Butterfree flew through the flock searching for a partner but did not seem to find one he liked.
"Huh? What's happening?" Ash asked.
"Maybe none of them match Butterfree's preference," Raj suggested.
"Preference? Aren't all Butterfree the same?" Misty asked.
"Some fly differently or have unique traits. Butterfree notice those things," Brock explained.
"Wow. There are so many balloons," Misty said while looking around.
"Those belong to Butterfree Trainers releasing their partners during the migration season," Brock said.
"I see."
Nearby a girl released her Butterfree into the sky with a smile.
When Brock saw her he immediately blushed and froze.
"He's doing it again," Misty said helplessly.
"So Brock really does fall in love with every beautiful girl he sees," Raj said while shaking his head.
At that moment Ash's Butterfree returned and called out helplessly.
"Butterfree, go find that Butterfree the girl released. Choose that one," Brock said urgently.
Butterfree tilted his head in confusion.
"If you choose her Butterfree then the Trainers might also become closer," Brock added excitedly.
Thud.
Misty knocked Brock down immediately.
"Love is something decided by the individuals themselves," Misty said firmly.
"Anyway Butterfree, if you want to have offspring you must find a partner," Ash said gently.
Raj wiped a drop of sweat from his forehead after watching Brock get knocked down again.
"So this is the gentle Misty people talk about," Raj muttered quietly.
"Alright Butterfree. Go find the one you like," Misty encouraged him.
Butterfree nodded and returned to the flock.
"Go Butterfree. Your destined partner must be somewhere out there," Raj said.
Butterfree searched carefully.
Then he suddenly spotted a completely pink Butterfree.
His eyes immediately turned into hearts and he flew toward her.
"It looks like he found someone he likes," Misty said happily.
"He fell in love at first sight," Raj said while watching through a monocular.
Ash's Butterfree circled around the pink Butterfree while chirping.
"What is he doing?" Ash asked.
"He's performing a courtship dance to attract her attention," Raj explained.
"That's right. It's Butterfree's unique courtship dance," Brock confirmed.
"So romantic," Misty said softly.
"If she accepts him she will respond with her own dance," Brock explained.
However the pink Butterfree showed no interest and flew upward instead.
Ash's Butterfree followed her while continuing his courtship dance.
Suddenly she struck him with her wing and flew away.
Raj and the others were stunned.
"It looks like he was rejected," Brock said regretfully.
"How could this happen," Misty said sadly.
Ash's Butterfree then flew crying into the forest below.
"That rejection hit him hard," Raj said.
No matter how Ash called out, Butterfree did not return.
With no choice left, everyone descended to search for him.
"Butterfree, where are you."
"Butterfree."
"Pikachu."
Soon Ash spotted a pair of wings behind a nearby tree.
"There he is," Raj said as they rushed forward.
They found Butterfree sitting weakly behind the tree, slowly flapping his wings while looking completely heartbroken.
