Chapter 14 - 13

Racine was surprised to see many people outside.

Despite less chattering and more seriousness written on people's faces, all of them seem to act normally.

A few neighbors who seem to be making makeshift [Boga] gave Racine a nod as he pass by.

Exposed with many games and stories, people already knew what to do and what to prepare for.

They might not all survive but Racine was sure none would let themself die without fighting.

Perhaps those who already have low survivals skills had already pass on the days prior.

Even Racine was curious to what had happened to the sick and elderly with this situation happening.

Did they awaken too? Or have they just died?

Racine shrugged the thoughts away from his mind.

To tell the truth he don't know where he was going. A mall sounds like a good idea especially if he can camp at the rooftops but if it got broken down he be dead.

To be honest Racine don't consider himself athletic nor smart enough to actually survive an apocalpyse.

Lasting this long might actually just be a stroke of luck.

Racine's eyes wondered around looking for a good spot to go when multiple people walk passed him while carrying someone together.

Racine took a step back away from the group only to be smacked by a limp hand in the cheek as the group rushed past him.

It was a slight brush of a hand hitting his face that caused Racine to fall back on his ass.

Not because of the hand's but because of the sudden wave of pain that he felt on his gut.

Racine stood up from the ground a hand clutching the throbbing pain that seems to pulsed around his whole body.

Panic flashed on Racine.

'Has the hide and seek started already?' Racine thought.

'Is he gonna die?' Racine staggered forward finding a nearby wall he could lean into.

It took Racine half an hour aching in discomfort and pain till he was able to think clearly again.

Almost like how the pain suddenly appeared it too also disapeared like it wasn't there to begin with.

Letting out a few shaky breaths, Racine wiped the sweat of his face.

He had already decided where to go.

Taking out a ring of keys he had taken with him.

Racine at it his eyes locking into the smallest key.

With clear direction in mind, Racine heads to the location.

To the family cementery.

It was not a typical cementery with urns nor just a semented gravestone.

Because of the tradition [Undas] Where relatives of the dead gather together and offer candles to the dead.

Their clan despite being more seperated now, pitch in to make proper quarters to host themselves by the cementery.

Thus a two story floor building with living quarters upstairs and gravestone downstairs was made.

the whole place was secured with metal bars and solar lights was placed to keep proper lighting.

It would be terrible if The [Undead] was basically already deceased people and all the dead people in the cementery suddenly rise up and kill Racine.

But according to the survival guide. The undead was something out of this world.

Still for perfect measure. Racine could just go to the top of the cementery rooftop

After all it was left open for adults to stargaze and smoke on.

Who would have thought using money to keep a proper praise to do traditions on would be useful.

Thus Racine decided to walk there and on the process of walking there he also stumbled to a community pantry

[Take one each] written on its sign board and Racine's eyes hovered over the stock of boxes most of the food already dwindled soon his eyes landed on a still untouch box of mosquito free lotion.

He grab one and placed it on his bag and was about to leave when an young man on a wheel chair called to him.

"Hey"

Racine turned towards the young man and his eyes realized who the young man was.

A gold olympic medalist who won track years before, Racine could recognize him because the man's face was consistently shown on adveritsment of a powdered drink.

Carlyn Diaz

"Would you like some of this too?" He tossed a box towards Racine and Racine opened it to see a well made running shoes.

Still prestine and brand new.

Racine checked the size it would be a little bigger but he doesn't mind a perfectly good shoes with a nice grip.

Especially if he had to make an escapadee like before.

Racine removed his shoes and try them on only to have his finger stucked on it.

"You look prepared" Carlyn said to him.

"I don't exactly want to die" Racine mumbled deciding to remove the gloves on his right hand to get a proper hold on the laces.

"Right..With all this going on I probably won't survive" Racine heard him say.
