Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: Double Happiness!

Chapter 21: Double Happiness!

FBI Los Angeles Field Office.

The Terminator T-800's arms and head were melting in the thermite combustion reaction. The Terminator T-800's red optical sensors extinguished in the flames, and the entire metal skull turned crimson before slowly melting.

When the thermite combustion ended, the Terminator T-800's arms and head were severely deformed, appearing in a semi-molten state.

Marcus, holding a steel rod, personally examined the semi-molten arms and head. He even used the steel rod to crush and deform the metal skull, confirming that the internal electronic components had been destroyed.

And indeed, that was the case!

Temperatures exceeding 5400 degrees Fahrenheit, even with the protection of ultra-high-strength alloys, were utterly ineffective.

After all, even ultra-high-strength alloys cannot insulate against heat.

The heat from the burning thermite, conducted through the ultra-high-strength alloys, completely burned away the Terminator T-800's internal electronic components.

"After they cool down, seal them as evidence in our evidence storage room. No one can retrieve them without Director Garrett's order," Marcus instructed Jackson.

"Yes, boss!" Jackson replied affirmatively.

Meanwhile, Kyle was removing the Terminator T-800's power cell, having worked on it for nearly half an hour.

Marcus approached Kyle and asked, "Not finished yet?"

Kyle retorted, "You think it's like replacing batteries, just popping them out?"

"What's with this power cell?" Marcus asked casually, unconcerned by Kyle's sarcastic remark.

Kyle, while working on the reactor, replied, "It's the Terminator T-800's main power source, responsible for powering its servos, hydraulic system, and processing systems."

"What's its power output?" Marcus asked curiously.

"Although it's a compact nuclear reactor, its peak power output is extremely high, potentially reaching 10 megawatts instantaneously. However, due to its small size, limited nuclear fuel storage, and factors like heat dissipation, its total energy output is only about 1 million kilowatt-hours," Kyle explained simply.

1 million kilowatt-hours is an incredibly high total energy output!

After all, for some electric vehicles, 60-80 kilowatt-hours can power them for 250 miles; 1 million kilowatt-hours is truly impressive.

Kyle added, "Back in our time, we discovered some intel. It seems Skynet is developing a new energy system with higher energy density, easier replacement methods, and stronger instantaneous output capabilities."

Marcus chuckled lightly, "Hydrogen fuel cells! A single battery could allow the Terminator T-850 to operate for 120 years, and they could carry two batteries."

"Huh?" Kyle paused, then suddenly realized that Marcus, supposedly from a more distant future timeline, naturally knew about Skynet's subsequent developments.

About half an hour later, Kyle finally extracted the power cell from the Terminator T-800's chassis. It was a fist-sized mechanical device with extremely high technological sophistication!

Marcus took it, secretly thinking, if he brought it to another world, and partnered with tech companies or the energy industry, wouldn't he become incredibly wealthy?

However...

it seems his original world is also trapped in a Time Cage?

"Jackson, incinerate the Terminator T-800's chassis as well," Marcus ordered. He didn't leave the lab but personally watched Jackson incinerate the Terminator T-800's remains to prevent any accidents.

After the Terminator T-800's chassis was incinerated, the Transcendence System finally issued a notification.

"Congratulations! The host has completely eliminated the Terminator T-800. The River of Destiny has experienced a relatively intense fluctuation. The system has gained 50 destiny points," the Transcendence System issued a notification.

"!!!" Marcus was stunned!

A mere Terminator T-800 was worth 50 destiny points?

The Terminator T-800 was truly outmatched. After Marcus gained control of the "Authority," the Terminator T-800 didn't even have the ability to resist, yet it was still worth 50 destiny points.

"Is it that valuable?" Marcus wondered to himself.

"The Terminator T-800 plays a relatively important role in the River of Destiny. The River of Destiny will experience significant fluctuations after the host defeats the Terminator T-800," the Transcendence System explained again.

Marcus stopped communicating with the Transcendence System. He discussed the compact nuclear reactor with Kyle, including how to use it, how to activate it, and how to put it into standby mode.

"By the way, Marcus, can I go see Sarah?" Kyle asked hesitantly.

Kyle added, "Don't worry, I'm just checking on her to make sure she's safe. I absolutely won't approach her."

Marcus thought for a moment and then agreed, "No problem. However, Kyle, I hope you've thought this through. I've already mentioned the theory of time and the River of Destiny. Although we've dealt with the Terminator T-800, we haven't reversed the future yet."

Kyle nodded vigorously, "I know, please trust me."

Marcus patted Kyle's shoulder, "If I didn't trust you, I wouldn't have agreed."

At this point, Marcus lowered his voice, "I will eventually leave. After I leave, I hope you join the FBI and quietly protect this world."

Kyle nodded silently.

Around nine o'clock that evening, Marcus personally drove Kyle to the vicinity of Sarah Connor's actual residence. He said, "She probably hasn't finished work yet. Let's wait a little longer."

"Okay." Kyle's feelings were complicated. He loved Sarah; he had even traveled through time to find her, but for the future of humanity, he couldn't be with Sarah now.

The two waited for nearly half an hour before Sarah Connor finally appeared carrying a shopping bag.

Kyle stared at Sarah, saying nothing and making no move to get out of the car. He simply watched her go inside, and only after she closed the door did Kyle whisper, "Let's go back."

Marcus was secretly satisfied, even more so when the Transcendence System issued another notification.

"Congratulations! The host has completely reversed the fate of Kyle Reese and Sarah Connor. Time and the River of Destiny have experienced significant fluctuations. The system has gained 80 destiny points," the Transcendence System provided a message that surprised Marcus.

"80 destiny points?" Marcus was shocked.

He had neutralized the Terminator T-800, gaining 50 destiny points, which he already thought was substantial. But now, Kyle had simply seen Sarah from a distance and gained another 80 destiny points?

Were destiny points so easy to obtain?

Had his previous actions been incorrect, resulting in him only gaining one or three destiny points each time?
