28: Chapter 28: Nami's Third Encounter, and the Puppy QuquJust then, a familiar figure appeared in front of Luffy and his companions.Luffy looked closely and saw that it was indeed Nami.Nami was being chased by three pirate henchmen.Nami also saw Luffy and his crew, and her eyes lit up immediately.She shouted, "Boss, you've come to save me!I've stolen what you wanted!"
Sure enough, the three pirates chasing Nami were distracted and glared at Luffy and his companions, saying menacingly, "This woman is one of yours, right?Hand her over right now!Do you know who we are?We're members of the Buggy Pirates, and our Captain Buggy is a pirate with a bounty of 15 million!Scared yet?"
Luffy stared speechlessly at the three idiots opposite him, then turned to Zoro and said, "It's up to you.These little minions aren't worth my time." Zoro nodded, drew his new sword, and eagerly prepared to use it.The trio, seeing this, were enraged and drew their weapons, charging forward with a roar.Zoro swung his Ame no Habakiri, and in the blink of an eye, the three henchmen were on the ground.Zoro said easily, "From now on, let's have Coby handle these little minions.They're too unchallenging."
Just then, Nami was about to sneak away, but a familiar move caught her."So, Miss Nami, that's why they're chasing you, isn't it?" Luffy suddenly had a sea chart in his hand, and Nami was startled."When did you take it?" "I advise you to give it back to me right now.I'm a member of the Arlong Pirates." As she spoke, Nami revealed the tattoo on her arm."Oh, really?I'm so scared," Luffy said fearfully.
Zoro and Nami watched Luffy's performance and couldn't help but facepalm.Their captain was great in every way, except he was too mischievous."Stop acting, Nami.When you mentioned the Arlong Pirates earlier, there was a clear flash of hatred in your eyes.It's obvious you really hate them," Luffy said.Nami's eyes narrowed sharply.Luffy then held up the sea chart and continued, "I've seen this before.It's a nautical chart for the Grand Line.That's enough to prove you know how to navigate, and you're excellent at it."
Nami couldn't help but feel curious about the boy before her.Through these seemingly trivial clues, she deduced that he hated the Arlong Pirates and that she knew how to sail."Yeah, so what?I do know how to sail," Nami said."That's good.Join us and become our navigator," Luffy invited."Join you?" Nami looked at Luffy suspiciously."Yes, our pirate crew is short of a navigator, and you'd be perfect for that." But upon hearing "pirate crew," Nami's face immediately turned cold.She said, "I hate pirates the most!You pirates do all sorts of evil things!I'd rather die than join you!"
"Oh, never mind then," Luffy shrugged, walking away with Zoro and Coby.Shortly after Luffy left, the water prison that had bound Nami was released.Nami gritted her teeth and said, "Damn it, I have to get that sea chart back!It's my dream!" Thinking this, Nami got up and chased after Luffy.Coby, walking along the road, was furious at the scene before him.The town had been ravaged by pirates, yet not a single Marine had come to help.Luffy watched without saying a word, but he was deeply puzzled: "Bugsy is supposed to be a crew member of the Pirate King, albeit an apprentice, but his strength seems so weak.Is he genuinely weak, or is he just pretending?"
Just then, Zoro spoke up, "Luffy, Coby, come look!There's a little dog sitting over there." Luffy peeked out and saw a dirty little dog sitting motionless in front of a shop."Is that Choo-cho?" Luffy thought to himself, while Coby asked in confusion, "Why is there a little dog in such a run-down place?"
Nami caught up at this moment and, seeing Luffy and his companions staring at Chuchu, mistakenly thought they were about to harm the puppy.She ran forward, blocking their path and shouting, "I won't allow you despicable pirates to lay a hand on an innocent life!"
"Huh?" Luffy and his two companions were completely dumbfounded.
