Chapter 1: Am I Nami?
One Piece world, East Sea, Cocoyasi Village.
A girl with orange short hair—Nami—was arguing with a girl with blue short hair—Nojiko.
Nojiko: "I'm two years older than you, that's why. If you were the older one, I'd wear your hand-me-downs too."
Nami: "But I want new clothes too!"
Nojiko: "Mine are hand-me-downs as well. You're my little sister—you only get what I've outgrown."
Nami: "We're not even blood-related sisters!"
At that moment, their adoptive mother Bell-mére walked in.
Smack!
Nami was slapped hard and knocked to the ground by Bell-mére.
"Na-mi! Don't ever say something that stupid!"
Bell-mére was trembling with anger, unaware that the girl in front of her now had a completely different soul inside.
The newly-transmigrated Nami hadn't even had time to open her eyes and take in the world before getting slapped across the face.
And she couldn't stop the original Nami's lines from spilling out of her mouth:
"Bell-mére isn't our real mother either, right? Wouldn't it actually be better if we weren't here?"
"That way you could eat properly, buy the clothes you like, and live more freely."
"Anyway, I was just picked up off the street. It'd be better if a richer family had found me instead."
She didn't know the full backstory yet, but clearly something had gone wrong with this transmigration. It felt like she'd grabbed the wrong script.
The mood was perfectly set—wasn't this the moment to dramatically shout, "I'm leaving this family for good!"?
…Nah, too embarrassing. Forget it.
Nami stood up and bolted out the door. Better to escape before they realized something was off. She'd figure things out later.
Just as she stepped outside, she glanced back. This… this scene felt way too familiar.
In the shrinking view of the house, two figures watched her leave: A small girl with blue short hair, wearing overalls and a headband. A slender woman with deep red long hair tied back, short bangs at the sides.
The problem was… neither of them looked like villains at all! Were they the kind of "misjudged supporting characters" that readers always underestimate?
Suddenly she noticed something else—her viewpoint was really low!
She looked down at her tiny arms and legs, touched the ends of her hair… She'd transmigrated into a little girl?
Wait—didn't that woman just call her "Nami"?
Which Nami?
A terrible premonition hit her.
At that exact moment, a notification sound rang in her mind.
Ding!
["Set Sail System" successfully bound.]
[Congratulations, Host, on your successful illegal immigration!]
A system! Her golden finger!
Nami grinned and clenched her tiny fists. Everything was under control now.
Usually, system protagonists had it easy—no grueling hardships, no deep grudges.
Though… the name of this system didn't sound very promising.
She glanced around. No one was paying attention, so she whispered:
"System?"
[System: Present.]
A dazzling panel appeared in front of her eyes. On it stood a shadowy figure—gender unclear, mysterious and ominous, with full special effects.
"System, tone it down! That's way too flashy!"
[System: Foolish host, only you can see this system.]
"Oh, good."
Nami ignored the little jab. After all, she was just a weak, pitiful, helpless transmigrator.
"System, where am I? Who am I? What am I supposed to do?"
[System: Uh… of the three ultimate questions, I can only answer one. You're in Cocoyasi Village.]
"Cocoyasi Village!"
"Isn't this the One Piece world— The Cocoyasi Village in the East Blue— Did I really transmigrate into that Nami?"
She asked in shock.
[System: Correct.]
"The female lead of One Piece?"
She double-checked.
[System: Obviously.]
"I picked a guaranteed-win script, right? A safe one? How did I end up as the Nami who gets taken advantage of left and right?!"
She complained that the afterlife customer service was as misleading as false advertising.
[System: Don't panic, host. With me here, once you stand above all worlds, you could even go back and beat up the King of Hell if you wanted.]
"!!!"
She didn't actually want to punch the King of Hell—she just wanted enough strength to live safely and comfortably in this Great Age of Pirates.
Going back home? She had no attachments there, so no rush.
Wait—
Safe? Comfortable? Survive?
She suddenly froze.
She definitely remembered this scene from her previous life.
Not long after Nami ran away from home, the Arlong Pirates invaded the village.
The leader of the Arlong Pirates was the fish-man Arlong, with a 20 million berry bounty.
In the overall story of One Piece, neither his bounty nor strength stood out.
But in the East Blue, he was an absolute final boss—an evil fish-man who'd later be imprisoned in Impel Down.
After his former Sun Pirates colleague Jinbe became a Warlord and was released, Arlong returned from the Grand Line, attacked villages across the East Blue, and made Cocoyasi Village the base of his "Arlong Park" domain, ruling over 20 villages with military force.
He extorted 100,000 berries per month from each adult and 50,000 from each child.
He shot and killed Nami's adoptive mother Bell-mére, recognized Nami's talent for drawing sea charts, and forced her to work for him.
He even bribed the local Marine branch colonel, Nezumi, to cover for him.
Thinking of this, Nami completely lost her cool.
Oh my god!!!
The Arlong Pirates are about to invade—was it this afternoon or tomorrow?
She looked again at her tiny arms and legs—zero combat ability.
Wait!
I still have the system!
[System: Host may loudly declare "System above all!" to open the status panel.]
The system helpfully offered a hint.
But—"System above all"? Do I really have to shout it? Can't I just think it or whisper?
Nami looked around.
Cocoyasi Village wasn't densely populated, but there were still a few villagers walking on the street.
Shouting something weird out of nowhere would be mortifying! They'd think she was crazy!
[System: Of course not.]
The system rejected her mercilessly, then tempted her:
[Open the panel to receive the newbie gift pack. Gain immense power and overcome your current crisis.]
Newbie gift pack? Immense power? Overcome the crisis?
Nami instantly caught the twelve key words.
Just then, several villagers chatting nearby saw little Nami in the distance throw her head back and roar:
"SYSTEM ABOVE ALL!!!!!!!!"
[System: No need to yell that loud. Too dramatic.]
—
[Host: Nami] [Race: Human] [Age: 10] [Physique: F-] [Combat Power: F-] [Evaluation: With thorough preparation, she could outsmart the old hen at the village entrance. A remarkable girl who can defeat the strong as the weak and fight above her level.]
Nami: …
Outsmarting a hen requires strategy and full preparation?
Does this system misunderstand the word "remarkable"? It definitely feels like mockery.
"How are physique and combat power graded?" Nami asked curiously, staring at her [F-].
[System: For example, [SS] combat power is the average level of the Four Emperors. Combat power is calculated through a special algorithm combining physique, Haki, Devil Fruit abilities, etc. It rises quickly early on, but becomes much harder later.]
"Those are too far away. Let's focus on right now."
All she cared about was what her newbie gift pack contained.
Invincible swordsmanship? A top-tier Devil Fruit? Advanced Haki?
Any one would do—give her the power to defeat Fish-man Arlong and prevent tragedy.
She'd already taken over Nami's body; the least she could do was protect Bell-mére in her place.
[Congratulations, Host!]
"It's here, it's here!" Nami's eyes widened in anticipation.
[A supreme ability rivaling golden legends, one of the ultimate powers across all realms.]
