"You didn't eat, right?"
"No.."
Arthur went to the nearest family restaurant and bought a breakfast meal for Venessa before coming here. It was already past breakfast time but he somehow guessed she wouldn't make anything herself in the kitchen.
Venessa looked at the bag of food in distress. If it was the Arthur she knew, he would never let her eat anything that isn't homemade. He would make her anything simple even if they don't have much time in hand. And today this single action delivered a message to her without even actually delivering.
"I called you several times, but you never picked up."
And even cut the call once.
Venessa couldn't say it because she knew there won't be any point in it. The mark of dried up tears were quite visible on her cheeks confirming the reason if calling him so many times in the morning.
"Sorry, I overslept."
