It was true that ever since Lewis had openly shown just how much he hated Draen, the dragon lord had deliberately chosen to step back. Draen knew better than to force himself upon his bride when Lewis had made his feelings painfully clear.
So, rather than making things worse between them, he began doing exactly what Lewis wanted.
He kept his distance.
He gave Lewis the space he needed.
If Lewis wanted to be left alone, Draen would leave him alone. If Lewis did not want to see him, Draen would find a reason to stay away. Even when every instinct within him screamed to remain beside his bride, Draen restrained himself.
Perhaps Lewis only needed time.
To think and calm down. Time to decide what he truly wanted and so, the days passed like that uncomfortably.
The atmosphere within the Silvaris Estate gradually changed as everyone became painfully aware of the tension between their master and his bride. Even the servants had become more cautious around Draen.
