Alpha Hades filled the entire room without even trying. He hadn't moved since others left and he simply stood there, watching and waiting. The intensity of his gaze made me want to look away. I stood beside my bed suddenly aware of everything.
His question has caught me off guard.
" I—I was…." I stuttered but he cut me off.
"I didn't get a proper explanation to why you were out alone last night" His voice was calm. I folded my arms defensively even though my heart pounded in my chest.
"Why were you alone in the forest?" He asked again.
"I couldn't sleep"
His expression didn't change.
"That's not what I asked." Annoyance flared immediately.
"I was alone because I couldn't sleep."
"Why couldn't you sleep?"
The question made me pause because there was an answer. A real answer and I didn't want to give it. It didn't make sense. I looked away towards the window. Anywhere but him.
"I just couldn't."
