Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: The Situation in Westeros

After reading what Drogon wrote, Varys returned to his room to write a reply. He filled three sheets of paper before finishing. Placing the papers back on the stone table, he returned to his room—this was also Drogon's intention, to facilitate communication.

Closing the door, Varys pressed his ear against the panel and listened intently. He even felt a sudden urge to throw open the door and see what was out there.

But The Mysterious Man had made it clear in the letter: do not attempt to probe his identity, now or in the future.

Having received Varys's reply, Drogon hid in a tree and read it carefully to understand the current situation in Westeros.

After Tyrion Lannister was removed from the position of Hand of the King by Tywin, he was given a new role: treasurer, responsible for raising funds for Joffrey's wedding expenses.

Drogon had long forgotten that Tyrion had served as treasurer. Seeing this news, he couldn't help but find it a bit amusing. Forcing Tyrion, who only knew how to spend money, to raise it was truly difficult for him; Drogon could imagine how worried he must be right now.

To avenge his son, Rickard Karstark killed two prisoners aged fourteen or fifteen; they were the grandsons of Tywin's brother, Kevan Lannister.

In a fit of rage, Robb beheaded Rickard, offending the Karstark Family and losing much of his army's morale.

The Karstark Family was a branch of House Stark that had split off a thousand years ago and established its own territory; they had always been loyal supporters of House Stark.

Now that Robb had killed the head of the Karstark Family for two Lannister brats, they would naturally no longer follow him.

After the Karstark Family returned to the north, several other families followed them. As a result, Robb lost half of his army and was now trying to win over House Frey of Twin River City.

Drogon felt helpless regarding the excessive uprightness of the Starks. With Robb allying with House Frey, the total annihilation of the Red Wedding wasn't far off. Drogon was considering whether or not to save them.

Catelyn's father, the Duke of Riverrun, had passed away from illness and was succeeded by her brother, Edmure. Seeing the name Edmure made Drogon want to laugh.

His deepest memory was of Edmure failing to hit the funeral boat carrying his father's body three times in a row with arrows. Finally, his uncle, the Blackfish, snatched the bow and ignited the boat with a single shot. In Drogon's impression, he was just a clown.

After finishing the news about Riverrun, the next part was related to Winterfell.

Winterfell was occupied by Roose Bolton's bastard, Ramsay Bolton. Ramsay Bolton could be said to be the most twisted character in game of thrones, bar none—even Euron "Crow's Eye", captain of the Silence who ripped out the tongues of all his crew, was a step below him.

Not to mention his methods of torturing Theon; simply to prove to his father that Theon had completely submitted to him, he made Theon—who, after being tortured and castrated, identified as Reek—shave him with a sharp razor.

While being shaved, he didn't forget to provoke Theon, telling him that Robb, whom he regarded as a brother, had been killed by his own father Roose at the Red Wedding. Theon finished shaving him with tears streaming down his face, his lips quivering, and his hands trembling.

Even Roose had to admire his bastard son's methods, entrusting him with heavy responsibilities and promising to grant him his surname upon completion, helping him escape his bastard status.

Furthermore, his fondness for flaying people alive showed just how twisted he was.

Varys also discovered that Littlefinger Petyr planned to secretly take Sansa away, and after Joffrey broke his engagement with Sansa, others were also eyeing her.

Eddard's two sons, Bran and Rickon, were burned to death by Theon. If something happened to Robb, Sansa would become the new Queen in the North. Whoever married Sansa would essentially gain the entire North.

Of course, at this time, only Theon, the person involved, knew that Bran and Rickon were still alive and had not been burned to death by him.

Seeing Varys's analysis, Drogon had to admire the political intuition of those high nobles. They began making plans so early, and the facts were just as they expected—Sansa eventually became the Queen in the North.

Drogon already knew other news from Barristan; he now grasped the general progress of this world.

After agreeing on a future message delivery location with Varys, Drogon flew toward Tyrion Lannister's home with Varys's letter of allegiance.

As a fan of Tyrion Lannister, he naturally had to go see him since he was in King's Landing.

Tyrion lived in the south of the city, not far from the Red Keep, but Varys told him that Tyrion likely wouldn't be home. To raise the funds needed for Joffrey's wedding, he was busy visiting various nobles. Tywin certainly hadn't given him an easy job.

Arriving at Tyrion's residence and waiting for a while without seeing anyone enter or leave, he stopped waiting and flew directly to Dragonstone.

On Dragonstone, the Red Woman woke up after spitting out a large mouthful of blood. Stannis had been guarding her side and, seeing her wake up, hurriedly asked what exactly she had seen.

"You say what you saw in the sky was a black dragon?" Stannis was somewhat incredulous.

He had been right behind the Red Woman at the time and had only seen the shadow of a black bird. How could it be a dragon?

"It might not necessarily be a dragon. A black dragon is the omen I saw in the flames, but he is definitely related to a black dragon."

"No dragons have appeared in this world for over a hundred years," Stannis still didn't believe it.

"The lord of light would not give an omen for no reason. Moreover, I suffered a backlash for trying to see the omen clearly—this is almost impossible. This omen is definitely not simple."

"Isn't there still a girl from House Targaryen alive? As long as their family hasn't completely died out, dragons could be reborn."

"If she truly possesses dragons, it will be a huge obstacle to your unification of the Seven Kingdoms, even harder to deal with than Tywin."

The Red Woman was a bit out of breath after saying this. The injury she sustained this time was more than just spitting out blood; it had damaged her foundation.

This was something she couldn't understand. Although her power wasn't strong enough now and she often had to draw from Stannis or through sacrifice to gain more, simply checking omens in the flames should have been perfectly fine. She hadn't expected to receive such a severe backlash.

Lying on the pillow, she smoothed her hair and looked. Her originally jet-black long hair actually had several more silver strands. She quickly checked the ruby necklace around her neck.

It still glowed with a faint red light. Fortunately, nothing had gone wrong with it, the Red Woman thought to herself with relief.

"Are you still leaving Dragonstone?" Stannis asked.

"I'll go after resting for a few days. This will delay Your Majesty's great cause of unification."

Stannis had originally been worried the Red Woman would abandon him and didn't want her to leave. He hadn't expected her to go again after her injuries healed. To this, he could only nod helplessly... Arriving at Dragonstone, Drogon headed straight for Shireen's room. As soon as he landed on the windowsill, Shireen spotted him and hurriedly opened the window.

"I thought you would never come back." Shireen was both disappointed and full of joy.

Drogon opened his backpack, took out some nuts he had swiped along the way, and handed them to Shireen. This time Shireen wasn't polite and happily ate the nuts.

Drogon took out a piece of parchment and handed it to Shireen. "Is this for me?" Shireen took the parchment from Drogon's hand with some confusion.

The handwriting was truly ugly—that was Shireen's first impression. But after reading the content, she was completely shocked.

"Someone can completely cure Greyscale?" she asked in surprise.

Seeing Drogon nod, Shireen's eyes widened further as she asked, "Did you write these words?"

Drogon hesitated for a moment before nodding.
