One of the two men who had survived regained consciousness, only to find himself tied up in a dark basement, his companion—the other survivor—beside him in the same state. As they tried to gather their thoughts, the sound of approaching footsteps echoed ominously through the space.
"Where are we now?" one of them whispered.
"I think we're about to be interrogated… by those two witches or their comrades. Don't say a word," the other murmured back.
"Yeah… I won't."
Just then, Luna and Yuna entered the basement where the two men were bound. Their expressions betrayed neither mercy nor patience.
Luna: "This reminds me of that fool we interrogated before these two idiots."
Yuna: "As if your memory's going to help us now."
"You're so boring sometimes."
"I just want to get this over with so we can deal with our real problem."
Once the interrogation ended, the twins jotted down the information they had extracted into a notebook and left the basement, leaving the two men behind.
Luna: "Do you think what those two fools told us is true, or are they just trying to lure us into a trap?"
Yuna: "I'm not sure… but we should consider the second possibility and try to verify what they said. We also need to inform the others about the attack."
Meanwhile, Tristan was standing near a small shop not far from Satomi's house, watching from a distance. Earlier, he had left a note in Satomi's mailbox—one that included a secret meeting location where they could talk away from prying eyes.
Now, Tristan waited at that very spot and before long, Satomi appeared. Their eyes met and Satomi walked up to him. They shook hands and then, without hesitation, embraced.
Satomi: "I ran out of the restaurant that day just like you told me but I couldn't help myself. I came back to watch the fight from a distance… Please, explain everything to me. I'm completely lost."
Tristan: "Alright. But Satomi… promise me you'll keep this secret and never try to get involved."
"I promise."
Tristan then told him everything—from the legacy of the wonder stones, to the Fauvism , the Kaos Team and all the information he had gathered.
Satomi: "So, from what you've said… you're being targeted by members of the Fauvism and you're in hiding so they don't find you?"
Tristan: "Not just me. Anyone who possesses a wonder stone is at risk. My teammates in Team Kaos could be in danger too."
"Damn… that's serious. But can I ask something?"
"Sure."
"That day… when you saved me from falling while we were drunk—did you use your powers to do that, even if it risked exposing you to them?"
"Yes. But to be honest with you, I was very careful not to reveal that I used my wonder stone."
"I'm even more grateful to you now."
"Listen, Satomi. Forget everything I told you. Stay away from this mess."
"I'll try… but Tristan, I can't just sit and do nothing while you suffer like this. Not after everything you've shared with me."
"Satomi… if I hadn't saved you that day in the restaurant, you'd be dead. This isn't something small. Don't make me regret telling you."
"Alright, if that's what you want. But know this—I'll always stand by you if you need me."
"Thank you."
They shook hands and Tristan disappeared using teleportation back to the Kaos Team's headquarters, while Satomi returned home.
Elsewhere, Jayden sat quietly on a chair at the back of his father's bakery, away from the other workers. One of the staff approached him saying
"Mr. Jayden, someone's here to see you."
Jayden: "Who is it?"
"Two girls—twins, with red hair. They're waiting for you outside."
Jayden immediately understood. Luna and Yuna.
He rushed outside, greeted them both
Jayden: "I assume you tried to call me but I didn't answer. I lost my phone in the… incident."
Luna: "You mean the fire at your house?"
"So you know."
Yuna: "Yeah, we passed by but you weren't there."
Luna : "Why didn't you come to our house, Jayden? You know where it is. We could've helped."
Jayden: "I didn't want to bother you…"
Yuna: "What's the point of being a team if we can't help each other in times of crisis?"
"You're right. I'm sorry. It won't happen again."
Luna: "Was the fire an accident, or…?"
"It was deliberate."
Yuna: "Do you have any idea who did it?"
Jayden went silent for a moment before speaking again.
Jayden: "I'll come to your house tomorrow evening and tell you everything. I'd also like you to inform the rest of our team about what happened."
Luna: "Alright. We also have news to share with you."
"Then we'll meet tomorrow."
Yuna: "Take care, Jayden. See you."
"Goodbye."
Jayden could no longer hide the truth. He strongly suspected that the fire had been started by someone from a gang that opposed the Iron phantom gang—his old organization. After stepping down as its leader, he knew the enemies he had made would come seeking revenge.
This was a serious problem. If he wanted to find out who was behind the fire, he'd need help from the Iron Phantom's intelligence unit. Sitting alone, he spoke to himself:
"Did I give up my position as leader too quickly? No… it was the right choice. I couldn't stay in that gangster life. But what now? Should I tell Yuna and the others that I used to be a gang leader?"
Thoughts swirled in his mind for a long time. In the end, he decided to tell only the twins. Merrick already knew the truth anyway.
The next evening came quickly. Jayden arrived at the twins' house on time and knocked. Luna answered the door.
Luna: "Come in."
She led him inside. Jayden sat on the couch, and she sat across from him.
Jayden: "Where's Yuna?"
Luna: "In the kitchen. She's making us a treat."
Moments later, Yuna returned with the dessert. The three of them began eating as they spoke.
Yuna: "So, Jayden, what are these details you wanted to tell us?"
Jayden: "There's a lot. But I want to hear your news first."
Luna: "We were attacked… by three men from a gang called the Iron Phantom."
Jayden's eyes widened. He froze, stunned by what he had just heard.
Jayden: "Did you say… the Iron Phantom?"
Yuna: "Yes."
Luna: "You look shocked, Jayden. Why?"
Jayden: "I just… I think I've heard of them before. They're said to be dangerous. I was worried for you."
"That's all?"
Jayden hesitated.
Jayden: "What do you mean?"
Luna: "Aren't you hiding something else?"
A long pause.
Jayden: "I was their former leader. I'm sorry I never told you. I just didn't want you to think I was a bad person. But I've left that life behind. I swear I won't go back."
Yuna: "Jayden… you should give up that life because it's the right thing to do—not just to protect your image in our eyes."
Jayden remained silent, her words cutting deep. She continued:
Yuna: "But the fact that you're telling us now—and that you regret it—is a good sign. Besides, we weren't exactly saints either. Luna and I… we were pretty awful when we were kids."
Luna: "Yeah, we destroyed some places completely."
"Burned one. Buried another."
"Same difference."
Jayden: "I had no idea you two were so… destructive as children. That's terrifying."
"Our past is more chaotic than you can imagine. But anyway, we're not here to trade horror stories. Let's get back to the important stuff."
"Yeah sure "
"Those two men we interrogated said they were trying to kidnap us… to lure you back."
Jayden: "Me?"
Yuna: "Yes. Their plan was to stage a kidnapping, let you know we'd been taken, then 'help' you rescue us… hoping you'd return to them out of gratitude."
"So they saw you with me, realized we were close, and decided to use you to manipulate me… a well-staged performance."
Luna: "Yeah. If they pulled it off, they deserved an Oscar."
"Take me to them. I want to find out if they know anything about who set my house on fire."
"Alright."
