Chapter 8 - Chapter 8- Morning misunderstands

Ryuu put the dished in the sink and got dressed. Rei and Ryuu walked out the front door and was met with Takashi standing there staring at them with a shocked and yet a grieved expression on his face. He looked at Rei and noticed that her school uniform looked wrinkled, and her hair looked like it was done with all due hast. Rei saw his strange look and looked down at herself and flushed with realization. Takashi, it's not what it looks like. Me and Ryuu were watching anime till late, and he was kind enough to let me stay the night. We did nothing scandalous. He was just being a good friend and kind host. Rei quickly eeks out an explanation. Takashi looks like he doesn't buy and give Ryuu a withering glare. Ryuu for his part just looks at Rei and undoes her hair and takes out a brush from his bag. He begins to brush it with care until the tangles are all gone and ties up her hair into her usual style. Rei thanks him with a blush on her face. This only furthers Takashi's misunderstanding even more. He notices Ryuu did that with such a calm expression that made it look like he has done this more than once, and that made Takashi's thoughts run wild with what that this all could mean or at least allude to with their relationship. Ryuu and Rei start walking to school with Takashi following behind them like a lost and hurt puppy. Rei still embarrassed looked at Ryuu and asked, why did you do my hair? and why was it so natural for you to do it? Ryuu replies, I didn't want you to look like you fought with the black knights last night and I use to help my mom with her hair when she was running late for work when dad wasn't around. Which was true, in his past life he did do what he said. He remembered those days and gave a wistful look towards the sky. Rei noticed this and gave him a reassuring squeeze on his arm with her hand. She didn't let go until they arrived at school. Takashi said nothing the whole walk, he continued have a sour expression especially when he saw Rei squeeze Ryuu's arm. He quickly went to class and tried to forget about what he had seen this morning, but he couldn't. Ryuu and Rei entered class like it was just a normal day, for them it was. There were no romantic feelings other than Rei having thoughts about Ryuu, but she chalked that up to being a teenager who has a very attractive friend. Lunch finally arrived, as the duo sat down unexpected guest decided to join them for lunch. Saeko busujima. She sat next to Rei and introduced herself to them. Reia and Saeko hit it off pretty fast, they talked about their respective martial arts, one spear the other sword. Ryuu looked at this scene with quite surprise, he wasn't sure why this happened, but more friends was a good thing. Especially when those friends happen to be attractive women. Rei talked about Ryuu's house and his in-home theater. Saeko-Chan, you have to see his theater. We watch code Geass last night and stayed up late. The seats were comfy, so comfy that I got way too tired. Rei says to Saeko. Saeko looks between the two and replies, we all can watch something at your house Ryuu-Kun. Tomorrow is a holiday, so we will have a half day. Ryuu thinks about it and nods, yeah, we can do that. I am more than happy to have friends over; my parents aren't home so it's kinda lonely being there all by myself. With this the start of his core of close friends began. He was excided that in this new life he made friends so fast. Ryuu got home and decided he should check up on his underground fort. He got into his car and headed out. He walked into the open underground space where he was met with Magos Lucarius. Welcome back my lord. How may I assist you today? Ryuu looks around and then asks, can you get me a data slate so that I can not only check on the progress of the fort but also reach you when I have needs? Or at least a small radio I could use to contact you while the data slate is for looking at the progress. Magos Lucarius bows and leaves, only to come back a few moments later with a data slate and a radio. He hands these to Ryuu and asks, is there anything else my lord? Ryuu shakes his head and leaves to return home.
