I let out a growl that felt low and guttural in my chest. I couldn't hold back the fury anymore. With one violent motion, I swept my arm across the top of my heavy wooden desk. Everything on it went flying. Stacks of papers scattered through the air like leaves in a storm. The brass lamp was knocked sideways and crashed onto the floor with a loud bang. The bulb shattered, sending tiny pieces of glass across the rug.
I didn't care about the mess. Inside me, Thorne was absolutely raging. My wolf felt like he was trying to tear his way out of my skin. He was restless, his claws scraping against my bones as he demanded blood and retribution. The meeting with the elders had left me feeling like a caged animal.
The door to my study swung open. I didn't have to look up to know who it was.
