Chapter 5 - Transcendence

Vought International

Office of the Vice President, Madelyn

Madelyn was in a meeting with film producers and marketing executives, discussing production and promotional strategies for a project aimed at breaking the stagnation in the current market.

"BOOM"

The thunderous roar of a massive explosion tore through the building.

Meanwhile, in the communications room...

Ashley was clutching the phone, drenched in sweat!

What did she just hear?!

Was she being told that a facility the size of a base, or a prison, had simply vanished into thin air, with not even a shred of evidence left behind to indicate who was responsible?

Ashley couldn't take it. She rushed frantically to Madelyn's office to report the situation.

Ashley reached Vice President Madelyn's door, sweating profusely. She didn't knock; she pushed it open with force and barged in.

Madelyn scowled at Ashley; she despised anyone interrupting her meetings.

Ashley was well aware of this, but she didn't care.

She looked at Madelyn, blinking and gesturing towards the other people in the room.

Madelyn understood the signal. "Alright, that's enough for today. Everyone can leave."

They all understood she wanted to speak privately and obediently filed out.

As soon as they left, Madelyn looked at Ashley. "Talk."

"The psychiatric asylum on the outskirts, south of New York City, has ceased to exist! It's gone!"

Madelyn blinked, not comprehending what she just heard!

She stared at Ashley, and after five seconds, she connected the sound of the earlier explosion to the incident.

"Was that explosion... the sound of the asylum?!!"

Madelyn leaped from her chair, shocked. You have to understand, the asylum wasn't close to the Vought building; you could say the distance was about a three-hour drive.

She looked at the screen Ashley was holding, showing the terrifying crater, and couldn't believe that the base and that hole were one and the same!

After a few minutes, Madelyn raised her head and looked at Ashley. "Send some tracking and investigation-type heroes to the site. Have them search a fifty-kilometer perimeter around the base. And question people—see if anyone noticed anything suspicious about any person."

Madelyn's first thought was the military. There was enmity between them and Vought. Although it wasn't public, in secret, the US government never trusted the 'heroes'. In fact, they never trusted what they called 'heroes' at all.

"Monitor the military's movements. See if they've conducted any recent exercises."

Truth be told, she couldn't think of anyone else with both the power and the audacity to offend Vought like this.

The sound of the explosion had drawn people's attention.

Several press companies and news websites rushed to cover the event, driven by the intense public curiosity to know what had exploded and caused such a commotion.

Before the people and the press could reach the site, police forces rushed to cordon off the area with over fifty cars. There were even military vehicles and armored personnel carriers at the location.

You have to understand, this incident had massive implications for national security. The government had to provide an explanation for what happened, or else people would start taking to the streets in protest.

People would be afraid that in the next hour, an explosion could happen near their own homes. And Americans, by nature, are cowards who fear death. They have no real allegiance to what's called 'America' or the silly 'American Dream.'

Anyone who believes American propaganda is a fool. A nation built on the slaughter of millions of people from races like the Native Americans—do you expect such a nation to endure?

........

Rogers returned to his private mansion and laid the young man with magnetic powers on the floor.

He sat on the comfortable couch, contemplating that the coming period would be a race between the company and his own lab.

Rogers looked at the red interface in front of him, which no one else could see. He still couldn't fully understand his own system, or the "cheat" that had traveled with him.

No matter how hard he tried, there was only:

- Tony Stark Template -

No sign of anything else.

Rogers closed the system, got up, and went to wash up, ready to begin his own work.

Approximately three days passed, and the explosion incident hadn't died down. In fact, public curiosity had only increased. All the claims put forward by Vought—that a gas field had exploded during maintenance due to a fire started by a smoker—were met with skepticism.

Although many believed the story, those who truly cared knew that no matter how powerful a gas canister explosion could be, it could never reach this level of destruction.

Vought knew they had to do something to divert people's attention from the incident. So, they announced an upcoming movie featuring all seven heroes joining forces to save the world, which ignited public excitement.

The Seven rarely film together; you could say it was similar to an "Endgame"-level event, with hype overwhelming everyone.

Rogers knew that given time, people would forget the incident. People's memory is like that of a fish or a fly—they forget quickly.

Rogers continued his work in the lab, and from time to time, an invention of his would shock the news, causing "Oculus" stocks to skyrocket, increasing by more than tenfold.

Rogers's rare public appearances and air of mystery made him a globally famous figure. People began to wonder about the genius who was ahead of his time.

Newspapers and TV channels gave him the title "Ahead of His Time."

Rogers paid little attention to the outside world because, as many months passed, the results of his diligent work began to show.

The young man with magnetic powers had become immensely stronger. He could now lift more than five buildings, each weighing over forty tons!!

Rogers realized the young man had consumed more than ten doses of Compound V and was close to death.

Rogers pulled him onto a lab bed, restraining him with elastic ropes and barbed wire.

And he began his own procedure.

"Jarvis, I'm going to start the process of transferring the Compound V from the young man's body into my own. You will be responsible for removing anything incompatible with my physiology and modifying it according to my personal requirements. If there's any error in the process, I want you to use nanotech to intervene in my red blood cells, purge them of any Compound impurities, and clean them."

"Yes, sir."

The transfer of Compound V from one person to another had begun.

The process was excruciatingly slow. The Compound V only passed through after ensuring no impurities remained. It went through several stages: transfer from the source, purification, then filtration by Jarvis with the addition of complementary elements to ensure the Compound retained its effectiveness. The final stage involved a nano-process that applied the finishing layer, enabling inoculation and integration.

Approximately nine hours passed during the transfer.

Although Rogers could have sped up the process, he didn't want to rush. The faster the process, the greater the chance of error.

For nine hours, Rogers pumped the Compound V into himself at an incredible rate!

As soon as the process was complete, Rogers opened his blue eyes, feeling the latent energy within him.

He clenched his fist, feeling the superhuman physical strength.

"Jarvis, compare my physical data with Homelander's and Soldier Boy's."

Jarvis displayed the data. The numbers were incredibly close:

· Homelander: 98%

· Soldier Boy: 99%

Upon seeing his own data, Rogers couldn't help but laugh maniacally. He could safely say he had reached the peak of this world at maximum speed.

He was now a superhuman, possessing not only immense physical strength but also other powers, similar to Homelander and Soldier Boy.

Powers such as:

"Magnetic Plasma Cannon"

· Mechanism: An ultra-powerful magnetic field compresses and heats a gas (like hydrogen) until it turns into plasma, then hurls it toward the target.

· Effect: A massive fireball of immense heat (millions of degrees) that melts and vaporizes anything in its path.

"Magnetic Disintegration Field"

· Mechanism: Generating powerful magnetic pulses that cause violent vibrations in the molecular structure of materials (especially brittle ones like silicon in electronics, or even bone).

· Effect: This ability poses a threat to Homelander himself, as it could potentially bypass his personal defenses.

These were his new abilities, on top of his enhanced physique and his original control over magnetism.
