Bethany P O V
It seems that the Alpha Alex wasn't trying to kill me. He just watched me for a few seconds with confused eyes, then walked towards us. He passed me and sat on the huge chair at his office table.
"Please take a seat," he gestured us to the visitor's chair. We sat opposite him. The frown on his face had been replaced with a welcoming smile. He was looking more charming with the smile on his lips.
"Mr. Morris, hope your journey to our pack was smooth. And my Beta welcomed you with respect?" he asked in his manly voice.
"Yes, Alpha, the journey was fine, and Beta Eric did welcome us warmly," Dad replied to me.
"So you are Bethany, right?" he asked, looking directly at my eyes. I don't know why, but whenever he looks at me, I feel some strange feeling. I couldn't come up with any word, so I just nodded in response.
"So, Bethany, can you tell me what reason caused you to leave your previous pack?" he asked me in a serious tone. I adjusted myself on my chair nervously and then looked at my mom. Mom nodded at me to go ahead.
"I fought with the Alpha's son, and the Beta's daughter, and then mom ended up beating them to save me. That's why the alpha banished me from the pack." I told the story that my father asked me to tell everyone in this pack. Alpha Alex nodded his head, indicating that he understood what I said.
"I would do the same if I were in the place of your mom. They deserved the beating," he said with a smile, making us surprised. He was so charming while talking that I think I am having a crush on him.
"So, Bethany, your parents already completed the joining ceremony, but you couldn't complete it. I think you are afraid of cutting your hand." He said that like a statement. Then he turned to my parents and asked, "So can you please wait outside while I complete her joining ceremony?"
Dad smiled at Alpha Alex, and with a small bow, he stood up from his chair. He patted my head and then went out of the alpha's office along with my mom. Beta Eric also followed them and closed the door while leaving.
I was sitting alone with Alpha Alex in his huge office. He was looking at me intently. The moment was awkward, and I could feel the air of tension between us. He pulled up the sleeve of his right hand and then bit on his wrist, his eyes never leaving mine. He then forwarded his bloodied wrist to me.
"Drink my blood," he ordered me. At first, I was stunned by his order, and then I was hesitant to oblige his order. But I had no other choice than this. So I stood from my chair and walked near him. Hesitantly, I grabbed his hand and touched my lips with his bloodied wrist. The moment I tasted his blood, all my hesitation evaporated in the air. I was intoxicated with the sweet taste of his blood. I straighten myself after drinking the blood. Then recite the words my parents did before.
"I, Bethany Morris, promise to be a loyal member of his pack. I will obey the Alpha and follow the pack rules. I promise to sacrifice my life for the pack's safety."
As soon as I finished my pledges, I felt a sharp pain piercing my body. I cried out in pain and lost my balance. Before my body could touch the floor, however, the alpha pulled me to his chest with his strong arm circling me. I collided with his strong chest. The touch of his hands on my body was igniting heat. I felt warm with his touch, and my body relaxed when the pain subsided. I was blushing in his embrace. I pulled away from the alpha as I saw my parents rushing inside.
"Bethany, are you feeling okay, honey?" Mom asked me, pulling me into her embrace. I nodded curtly.
Alex POV
"The joining ceremony is completed. Now let's discuss your settling in the pack," I gestured for them to take back their previous seats.
"For tonight, you can stay in the pack house. We have a lot of guest rooms here. Your house will be ready by tomorrow." I informed them.
"Thank you so much, Alpha Alex," Mr. Morris thanked me with delight.
"But I am a bit confused, why did you ask only one house away from the pack house?" I asked them what was on my mind.
"Actually, Bethany loves to be alone, and she wants to stay in a peaceful home away from the crowd," Mrs. Morris responded. I didn't ask any questions about that anymore. I thought letting it go was the best choice for now.
"Bethany can start school from this Friday. And as you were warriors in your previous pack, I would like you to train our teenagers in high school. We need an experienced trainer like you for our new generations," I stated their duties and waited for them to express their thoughts. I watched the family of three and exchanged glances among them. I knew they were mind-linking about their new pack roles. After a few moments, Mr. Morris looked back at me with a satisfied smile.
"We are happy that you thought we could help in the training. Thanks a lot for this opportunity," he said humbly. I liked this man. He seemed loyal to me.
"Okay, we have a pack run on this Friday night. I want you to attend this pack run so that you can get to know other pack members as well," I informed them about the pack run, but their faces changed suddenly as if they were worried about something.
Bethany POV
As soon as the alpha informed us about the pack, I became worried. Pack run means all of the pack members will turn into their wolves and run together in the forest. But I don't have any wolf. How would I join the pack run?
Mom was also looking at me worriedly. We just mind-linked a few moments ago about our pack duties. If we also discuss this in the mind link, it might raise suspicion in Alpha's mind.
"The pack run will be a great opportunity for us to create bonds with other pack members. We will definitely join the pack run. But I am a bit worried about Bethany. Her previous experience with pack members wasn't very good. She still needs some time to settle into this new pack and adjust here. If you don't mind, can Bethany skip the pack run?" Dad asked him after explaining the situation. I knew he was just trying to save me from being exposed in front of the whole pack.
Alpha Alex was silent for some time. I became scared by his serious expression. Was he guessing something about my secret? But to my surprise, he flashed a charming smile and agreed with Dad. This man was making me fall for him. I think I can feel something between Alpha Alex and me. The chemistry between us was so obvious to me. I looked away from him, and my eyes met with Beta Eric.
Beta Eric was standing beside Alpha Alex the whole time. Whenever I looked at his way, I caught him looking at me. My cheeks blush whenever our eyes meet. My sexy dreams with him start playing in front of my eyes whenever I think about him.
What is happening to me? What are these feelings that I feel for the Alpha? Moreover, what were those scenes with beta Eric that always came into my dreams every time? Do I have feelings for them both at the same time?
