Chapter 268 - 8th month

The 8th Month: The "Full-Capacity" Phase

[Author's POV]

The calendar officially flipped to the 8th Month, and the "Double-Heir" project entered the Critical Threshold. Jay's bump was now a glorious, undeniable 1,000% "High-Density" masterpiece. In the Watson mansion, the air was thick with "Security Protocols," "Nesting Instincts," and a very stressed-out CEO.

At 32 weeks, the twins, Alexander and Aurora, were no longer "Kicking"—they were "Reconfiguring the Interior Architecture."

08:00 AM: The "Waddle" Protocol [Jay's POV]

I stood at the top of the grand staircase, staring down at the 40 steps like they were a "Mount Everest" simulation. Moving was no longer a "Smooth Sync"; it was a strategic maneuver.

"Keifer," I called out, my voice sounding a little breathless. "The 'Hardware' is too heavy today. I think my 'Gravity Sensors' are broken."

[Keifer's POV]

I appeared at the base of the stairs in 0.2 seconds. I didn't care that I was on a global conference call with the Tokyo office. I muted the mic and looked up at my Empress.

"Don't move, Jay," I commanded, my "Alpha" frequency echoing through the hall. "The stairs are a 'Variable Risk' I'm not willing to accept."

I walked up the stairs, two at a time, and swept her into my arms. She was heavier now, carrying the weight of two future Watsons, but to me, she felt like the only "Asset" that mattered.

"I'm carrying you for the rest of the month," I murmured against her hair. "1,000%. I'll install a 'Hydraulic Lift' by tomorrow if I have to."

"Keifer, you're a dork," Jay giggled, though she clung to my neck. "But a 2,000% helpful one."

The "Double-Heir" Health Check: [Jay's POV]

The private Watson medical suite was buzzing. Dr. Sterling (the one Keifer still hadn't forgiven) was replaced by a specialized female team—partly for "Security" and 1,000% because of Keifer's jealousy.

"They're getting crowded," the doctor noted, pointing to the ultrasound screen. "Alexander is head-down, ready for 'Launch'. Aurora is... well, she's currently using her brother as a footrest."

"That's my girl," Bridget whispered from the doorway, leaning against Felix. "Tactical positioning from the womb. She's already taking over the 'Perimeter'."

Keifer gripped my hand so hard I thought his "Internal System" might overheat. "Are they healthy? Is the 'Data' stable? I want a 24/7 feed of their heart rates synced to my watch."

"Keifer," I warned. "If you try to 'Track' their heartbeats like a stock market, I am 'Firewalling' your access to the nursery."

The "New Normal" in the House: [Rina's POV]

Living in the Watson mansion during the 8th month was like living in a "High-Security Library."

I was sitting in the garden room, hand-writing a letter to my mother, when Keigan walked in with a specialized ergonomic pillow.

"Rina, the 'Ambient Temperature' in this room is 2 degrees too low for optimal comfort," he noted, adjusting my chair. "I've 'Synced' the heating to your biological signature."

"Keigan, honey," I laughed, catching his hand. "I'm fine. But Jay... she's currently in the kitchen trying to eat a bowl of crushed ice with hot sauce. You might want to 'Process' that instead."

Keigan's eyes went wide. "Ice and hot sauce? That's a 'System Crash' waiting to happen. I'll go alert the CEO."
