Chapter 4 - Chapter 03

Y/N~

It's been a couple of weeks since my new life at Hogwarts began, and let me tell you, magic really is everywhere. Floating staircases? Check. A fireplace that roars to life with a single flick of your wand? Double check. Even the portraits gossip about you if you're too loud in the common room. It's surreal, and I'm still getting used to it.

Today, though, I'm heading out for something important—getting a new wand. Why, you ask? Because Jungkook, my ever-graceful kangaroo of a best friend, slept on my old one. Yes, the boy straight-up squashed it. I woke up to find my wand bent in two half, looking like a sad, magical pretzel. He's been apologizing non-stop ever since, but honestly, I didn't even like that wand much. I'd been wanting a new one for a while anyway, so now I have the perfect excuse. Thanks, Jeon.

We decide to walk to the nearby wizarding village to visit the wand shop. It's a crisp, sunny day, and the fall leaves crunch under our shoes as we make our way down the path. When we reach the shop, Jungkook pushes the door open, and a little bell chimes overhead. The smell of wood, musk, and a hint of something magical greets us, instantly making the place feel special.

"Welcome! Feel free to look around," the shopkeeper calls out, his voice raspy but warm.

I nod and start wandering through the shelves, which are stacked high with wand boxes of every size and color. There must be thousands of them. Picking one feels impossible. My last wand? I'd bought it online, so the process was way easier. But this? This feels like I'm speed-dating wands, and none of them are giving me the spark.

Meanwhile, Jungkook is taking his "judge" duties very seriously. He still feels so guilty about breaking my wand that he's promised to help me find the perfect replacement. Honestly, I trust his judgment—his wand is ridiculously cool, so I know he's got good taste.

I trail off to the far shelves, fingers brushing over the boxes as I go. Some are plain, others are ornate, but none of them are the one. The wands are beautiful, sure, but nothing has given me that heart-stopping, magical moment I'm hoping for.

"Minx!" Jungkook's voice suddenly echoes from the back of the store. I turn just in time to see him sprinting toward me like an overexcited puppy, only to trip over a customer's cloak. The man gives him a look, but I'm too busy stifling a laugh to care.

"I've got it! This is the one," Jungkook declares, holding up a burgundy velvet box like it's the Holy Grail.

I arch an eyebrow at him but take the box anyway. The fancy, vintage vibes are already hitting all the right notes. When I lift the lid, my breath catches.

Inside is the most stunning wand I've ever seen—jet black, its body twisting elegantly, with an amethyst gemstone set into the handle. It's sleek, powerful, and completely my style. My fingers graze over the polished wood, and I swear I feel something spark deep inside me, like the wand is saying, Yes. You're mine.

"Oh my god," I whisper, a tear slipping down my cheek before I can stop it. "I love it."

Jungkook grins, that stupid bunny smile lighting up his face. "Told you. I'm the best."

"I love it, Bunny," I mumble, pulling him into a quick hug.

He ruffles my hair, then grabs the box and makes a beeline for the cashier. Of course, this starts the usual argument—me insisting I can pay for my own wand, and him insisting he has to pay because it's technically his fault I need a new one. Spoiler: I lose the argument.

Dumb bunny won.

Rolling my eyes, I drag him out of the shop and into a nearby café. If he won't let me pay for my wand, then at least I can buy him food as a thank-you. We settle into a cozy little booth with couches, the smell of butterbeer and pastries wafting around us.

"Pick whatever you want," I say, shoving the menu toward him.

"You don't have to—"

"Don't even start, Jeon," I interrupt, narrowing my eyes at him. "Just order."

He laughs but finally gives in, ordering enough food to feed a small army. I don't mind, though. Jungkook is the kind of best friend everyone dreams of having—the one who always has your back, even if it means breaking a wand or arguing over who pays the bill.

As we dig into our snacks, I glance at the box sitting beside me and smile. My new wand. My new life. My best friend. Yeah, I think Hogwarts is going to be pretty fun.
