Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Who's In the Shadow.

Arachne's gaze locked onto something in the distance. "I think it's Lyra," she said, a hint of excitement in her voice.

Malakai's heart skipped a beat. Could it be? Were they finally closing in on Lyra?

As Arachne and malakai ran towards it , it turned out to be a demon shape shifter.

What a shocking twist,

Arachne and Malakai's excitement turns to alarm.

As they drew closer, the humming noise grew louder, and the air began to distort. Arachne and Malakai skidded to a stop, their eyes widening in surprise.

Before them stood a towering figure, its body shifting and flowing like molten lava. The demon's eyes blazed with an otherworldly energy, its presence radiating an aura of malevolent power.

"A Zha'thik," Arachne breathed, her voice barely audible. "A demon shape-shifter."

Malakai's hand instinctively went to his sword, his mind racing with the implications. "What does it want?" he asked, his eyes locked on the demon.

The Zha'thik's response was a low, rumbling chuckle. "I have been waiting for you, Malakai," it said, its voice like thunder. "You are just in time to witness the beginning of a new era."

Arachne's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?" she asked, her voice dripping with suspicion.

The Zha'thik's grin grew wider, its body shifting and flowing like a living shadow. "Kael's plan is already in motion," it said. "And you, Malakai, are the key to unlocking its true potential."

Malakai's grip on his sword tightened, his heart pounding in his chest. What did the Zha'thik mean? And what was Kael's plan?

Zha'thik offered to help them get to Arachne, but still yet they didn't trust him because they don't know his intentions, Zha'thik told them he knew were malakai was and if they don't need his help, they won't get there fast enough and then giving kael chance to overcome them,

A tempting offer, but trust remains an issue.

Arachne's eyes narrowed, her gaze piercing. "Why would you help us?" she asked, her voice laced with skepticism.

Zha'thik chuckled, its body shifting and flowing like a liquid. "Let's just say I have my own reasons for wanting to see Kael fail," it said. "Besides, I can ensure you reach Lyra before Kael does. Without my help, you'll be too slow."

Malakai's grip on his sword tightened, his mind racing with the possibilities. He didn't trust Zha'thik, but the demon's words struck a chord. They did need to reach Lyra before Kael.
