Arachne seemed to sense Malakai's hesitation. "We can't trust him," she whispered, her eyes locked on Zha'thik.
But Zha'thik just smiled, its eyes glinting with amusement. "You don't have to trust me," it said. "You just need to use me. And I'll make sure you get to Lyra in one piece."
The demon's words hung in the air, tempting and treacherous. Malakai and Arachne exchanged a wary glance.
They were confused on what they would decide?
As they thought for a moment they decided to take his offer, and then Zha'thik swayed his hands.
A decision made, Zha'thik unleashes his power.
As soon as Zha'thik's hands moved, the air around them began to distort and ripple. A dark, swirling portal erupted into existence, its edges churning with an otherworldly energy.
"Hold on to each other," Zha'thik instructed, his voice rising above the growing din. "This will be...unsettling."
Malakai grasped Arachne's hand, feeling a surge of electricity run through his veins. Together, they stepped forward, the portal's energy enveloping them like a shroud.
The world around them dissolved into chaos, colors bleeding together in a mad whirlwind. Malakai's stomach lurched, his senses reeling from the intense acceleration.
And then, in an instant, they were through.
Malakai stumbled, his vision blurring as he struggled to regain his balance. Arachne's hand remained clutched in his, her eyes locked on his as they gazed around at their new surroundings.
They stood at the edge of a tranquil lake, its waters reflecting the vibrant hues of the surrounding landscape. A figure stood on the lake's opposite shore, her long, flowing hair rippling in the gentle breeze.
Lyra !!!,
As they ran towards Lyra Zha'thik stood there being alarmed,he knew kael would come sooner or later, Arachne and malakai ran towards Lyra with a smile, and then Lyra stood up and turned back and saw them, she was alarmed because it had been a while since someone had visited her.
A joyful reunion, but Lyra's alarm sparks concern.
Lyra's eyes widened as she took in the sight of Arachne and Malakai rushing towards her. Her initial alarm gave way to a mixture of surprise and curiosity.
"Arachne? Malakai?" Lyra called out, her voice tentative. "What brings you here?"
Arachne and Malakai slowed to a stop before Lyra, their smiles faltering as they took in her wary expression.
"We've come to warn you, Lyra," Arachne said, her voice serious. "Kael is searching for you, and he'll stop at nothing to claim your power."
Lyra's eyes clouded, her gaze darting nervously towards the surrounding trees. "I knew it," she whispered. "I've been sensing a darkness gathering, but I didn't know what it was."
Malakai's grip on his sword tightened. "We need to get you to a safe place, Lyra. Now."
But as they turned to leave, a faint rustling echoed through the trees, followed by the sound of approaching footsteps.
Zha'thik's warning glance flashed through Malakai's mind: "Kael would come sooner or later."
It seemed sooner had arrived.
