Claudia POV
I had been relapsing for the whole night, waking up in a daze, staring at the ceiling silently for a while before falling asleep again.
Whenever I woke up, Ray would be there, asking if I was alright before telling me to close my eyes again.
And so I did.
Besides, I also felt exhausted. Perhaps all the events in this whole week had been taking a toll on my health, and the stress was too much for me to bear.
However, even in my dream, I still couldn't rest. Because my dream—no, my nightmare—was acting like a broken tape, replaying that moment when the tip of a sharp fruit knife in Clarissa's hand touched Aurora's neck.
I couldn't save my daughter in that dream, because I was being held off by two men at the same time. With Miles holding my left arm, and Ray holding my right.
They were whispering many cruel words while I desperately tried to break free and save my daughter.
'Why are you trying to save her, Claudia? She's a girl. You know that I want a boy instead.'
