Claudia POV
"B-but—this is very risky…" I continued arguing with him, because thinking of Clarissa and all of her craziness made me shiver. I wasn't scared of her, but I was scared that she'd actually do something to Ray, even though Ray had nothing to do with her before he decided to sign a contract with me.
"Enough of that nonsense. I'll be fine no matter what," he claimed. "Rather than worrying about me, I am more curious about your response. What do you think of the picture? Do you like it?"
"Like it?"
That was an insane question to ask, because he just ordered someone to harm Clarissa to this extent and then asked whether I liked the sight of Clarissa's wounds.
But if I had to be honest…
"I… guess…" I muttered while looking down at the picture once more. "I've never thought about hurting Clarissa before, even when we were kids. But after what she did yesterday, I thought that by killing her I would finally set myself and my daughter free from her torment."
