🌌 STARLOST
Episode 9 — "Fracture Point"
The night after everything breaks—
doesn't feel like night at all.
The air is heavy.
Still.
Like the world itself is holding its breath.
---
Aira sits on her bed.
Lights off.
Phone in her hand.
But she's not scrolling.
Not texting.
Just staring.
Her voice is barely a whisper.
"…A variable."
She lets out a small laugh.
But it doesn't sound like her.
"Great."
---
Across the town—
Nova stands alone on a rooftop.
Wind moves softly around him.
But he doesn't feel it.
His eyes are fixed on his hands.
"They're not stabilizing…"
For a second—
Time flickers.
Just slightly.
A passing bird freezes mid-air—
then suddenly shoots forward again.
Nova clenches his fists.
"No…"
His voice tightens.
"I can't lose control now."
---
The next morning—
School feels different.
Not normal anymore.
Students whisper.
Rumors spreading.
"Did you see the sky yesterday?"
"My phone stopped working—"
"Something's wrong…"
Aira walks through the hallway.
People feel distant.
Like background noise.
Nova stands near the window again.
But this time—
He looks… tired.
Aira walks up to him.
"You didn't sleep, did you?"
Nova answers honestly.
"No."
She sighs.
"Same."
For a moment—
Neither of them speak.
Then Aira says quietly—
"You scared me yesterday."
Nova freezes slightly.
"…I know."
Aira looks at him.
"But you also saved me."
Nova doesn't respond.
Because he's not sure if that's true.
---
Suddenly—
Every window in the classroom cracks slightly.
Tick.
A sharp sound.
Everyone goes silent.
Nova's eyes widen.
"They're here."
---
Outside—
The sky distorts.
Not dark.
Not clouds.
Something else.
Like space itself is folding.
A massive ripple spreads across the sky.
Students run outside.
Phones out.
Recording.
Confused.
Then—
A beam of light descends from the sky.
Right into the center of the town.
Aira whispers,
"…That's new."
Nova's voice is serious.
"This isn't a hunt anymore."
---
They reach the street—
Where the beam landed.
And what they see—
is not just one.
Not three.
But dozens.
Alien units.
Standing still.
Watching.
Waiting.
In perfect silence.
Aira slowly says—
"Okay… yeah… this is bad."
Nova steps forward.
"They're not here to observe."
---
One unit steps ahead.
Its voice echoes louder than before.
"Final retrieval phase initiated."
"Resistance will be neutralized."
Aira mutters,
"They really need new dialogue."
---
Then—
Everything begins at once.
Units move.
Fast.
People scream.
Chaos spreads across the street.
Nova jumps forward—
Blocking multiple attacks at once.
But there are too many.
He gets hit—
hard.
Thrown across the road.
Aira runs toward him.
"NOVA!"
One unit grabs her again.
Stronger grip this time.
No hesitation.
"No interference permitted."
Aira struggles.
"LET GO—!"
---
Nova looks up.
Breathing heavy.
Pain everywhere.
But something else is rising.
Something unstable.
Something dangerous.
His voice drops.
"…Don't touch her."
Time flickers again.
More violently.
The street cracks.
Windows shatter.
The air itself distorts.
Nova stands slowly.
His eyes—
aren't normal anymore.
They glow.
Not like before.
Brighter.
Uncontrolled.
---
Suddenly—
Time fractures again.
But not like Episode 8.
This time—
It spreads.
Everything around him begins to glitch.
People freeze—
then move—
then freeze again.
Moments overlapping.
Reality breaking.
Aira sees it.
"…Nova… stop…"
But he can't hear her.
---
In Nova's perspective—
Everything is noise.
Broken time.
Endless versions of the same second.
The unit holding Aira—
appears in multiple positions at once.
Nova steps forward.
Each step cracks the ground.
"I said…"
His voice echoes across broken time.
"Don't. Touch. Her."
---
He moves.
And this time—
He doesn't just dodge.
He hits.
The unit holding Aira—
disappears.
Not destroyed.
Not thrown.
Gone.
Like it was erased from that moment entirely.
Aira drops to the ground.
Shocked.
"What… did you just do…"
---
The other units stop.
For the first time—
they hesitate.
Their system voices glitch.
"Temporal—error—unknown—"
"Reality deviation—critical—"
---
Above Earth—
The alien vessel alarms go wild.
"Spatial collapse detected!"
"He's not just stopping time anymore!"
The commander stands up.
Now—
he looks serious.
"What is he doing…"
A scientist answers in fear—
"He's rewriting local reality."
---
Back on Earth—
Nova stands in the middle of the broken street.
Breathing heavily.
Everything around him flickering.
Unstable.
Aira slowly stands.
Walks toward him.
"Nova…"
He doesn't respond.
His back is turned.
She reaches out—
and grabs his hand.
"Stop."
For a moment—
everything freezes again.
But this time—
not because of his power.
Because of her.
---
Nova's breathing slows.
The glow in his eyes fades slightly.
Reality stabilizes.
Cracks in time begin to close.
The world… calms.
---
Nova looks at her.
Finally.
"I almost lost it."
Aira smiles weakly.
"Yeah… you think?"
Then—
more softly—
"But you didn't."
---
But above them—
the commander gives a final command.
No hesitation now.
"Authorization granted."
"Begin planetary purge protocol."
---
A new message appears across the alien system:
PHASE FINAL — ERASURE
---
Back on Earth—
the sky begins to glow.
Not like before.
This time—
it feels like the end.
Aira looks up.
"…Nova."
He already knows.
His voice is quiet.
"They're not coming for me anymore."
Aira's heart sinks.
"Then what are they—"
Nova finishes the sentence.
"For everything."
---
And for the first time—
there is no escape.
Only a choice.
Fight—
or watch the world disappear.
---
