🌌 STARLOST
Episode 10 — "The Choice That Breaks the Sky"
The sky is no longer the sky.
It burns.
Not with fire—
but with something colder.
A white glow spreads across the atmosphere, silent and absolute.
No sound.
No warning sirens.
Just… ending.
---
Across the town—
People stop.
Look up.
Confused.
Afraid.
Phones don't work.
Cars stop mid-road.
Everything begins to feel… distant.
Like reality itself is slowly fading.
---
Aira stands frozen.
"…Nova…"
Her voice trembles.
"Tell me that's not what I think it is."
Nova doesn't look away from the sky.
His answer is quiet.
"It's worse."
---
High above Earth—
The alien vessel hums with power.
A massive structure unfolds.
Light gathers into a single point.
Not a beam.
Not yet.
A process.
Slow.
Certain.
Unstoppable.
---
Back on the ground—
Aira grabs Nova's arm.
"Okay listen to me."
"No thinking. No analyzing. No alien logic."
"Just answer me honestly."
Nova looks at her.
"What?"
Aira's eyes are shaking—
but determined.
"Can you stop this?"
Silence.
Wind moves around them.
Nova's fists slowly tighten.
"…I don't know."
---
Aira exhales sharply.
"Not the answer I wanted."
Then she steps closer.
"But it's enough."
Nova frowns slightly.
"What do you mean?"
Aira looks straight into his eyes.
"It means you're not giving up."
---
For a moment—
everything else fades.
No sky.
No threat.
Just them.
---
Nova's voice lowers.
"If I lose control again…"
Aira cuts him off.
"Then I'll stop you."
Nova blinks.
"…You can't."
Aira smirks faintly.
"Yeah. I figured."
Then softer—
"But I'll still be there."
---
Something in Nova… shifts.
Not power.
Not energy.
Something deeper.
A decision.
---
He looks back at the sky.
"If I push my ability further…"
"It won't just affect time."
Aira crosses her arms.
"Of course it won't. Why would anything be simple?"
Nova continues—
"It could tear space itself."
"Or erase everything nearby."
Aira takes a breath.
Then says—
"Then don't do it alone."
---
Nova looks at her.
Confused.
Aira places her hand over his.
"You said I'm a variable, right?"
Nova nods slowly.
"Yes."
Aira smiles.
"Then use me."
---
Silence.
But not empty.
This time—
it feels like something is building.
---
Above them—
The light in the sky intensifies.
The final phase is almost complete.
---
Nova closes his eyes.
For the first time—
he doesn't resist his power.
He accepts it.
All of it.
The instability.
The fear.
The unknown.
---
Time begins to distort again—
But differently.
Not breaking.
Not shattering.
Flowing.
Like it's responding to him.
---
Aira feels it.
The air changes.
The world bends slightly around them.
But she doesn't let go.
---
Nova opens his eyes.
They glow—
but steady.
Controlled.
"Stay with me."
Aira nods.
"Always."
---
Then—
Nova steps forward.
And reality bends with him.
---
The ground beneath their feet lifts slightly—
not physically—
but like space itself is shifting layers.
The sky flickers.
The massive structure above begins to distort.
For the first time—
the alien weapon reacts.
---
Inside the vessel—
Alarms scream.
"Distortion detected!"
"He's interfering with the purge field!"
The commander slams his hand down.
"Impossible!"
---
Back on Earth—
Nova raises his hand slowly.
The glowing sky begins to ripple.
Like water.
Like it's no longer stable.
---
Aira whispers—
"…You're actually doing it…"
Nova's voice is calm.
"No."
He looks at the sky—
then beyond it.
"I'm changing it."
---
The light in the sky fractures.
Cracks spread across it—
just like broken glass.
---
But—
Something goes wrong.
---
Nova suddenly drops to one knee.
His breathing breaks.
The glow flickers wildly.
Aira kneels beside him.
"Hey—HEY—!"
Nova struggles to speak.
"It's… too much…"
The sky begins stabilizing again.
The purge resumes.
---
Aira grips his shoulders.
"NO."
"Don't you dare stop now."
Nova looks at her—
weak.
"I can't…"
---
Aira's voice softens.
For the first time—
completely honest.
Completely vulnerable.
"Then I'll carry the part you can't."
Nova freezes slightly.
"…What?"
Aira presses her forehead against his.
"You're not alone in this, idiot."
---
And in that moment—
something impossible happens.
---
The distortion changes.
Not stronger.
But… different.
More stable.
More focused.
---
Nova's eyes widen.
"…You're stabilizing it."
Aira laughs weakly.
"I have no idea what I'm doing."
"But it's working, right?"
---
Nova slowly stands again.
This time—
not alone.
---
Together—
they raise their hands toward the sky.
---
The cracks spread faster.
Wider.
Deeper.
The alien structure begins to collapse in on itself.
---
Inside the vessel—
"System failure!"
"Purge sequence destabilizing!"
The commander watches—
shocked.
"…What is this…"
---
Back on Earth—
The sky shatters.
Not physically—
but like an illusion breaking.
The white glow collapses into nothing.
Silence returns.
---
Then—
darkness.
Normal sky.
Stars.
Gone.
Just like that.
---
Aira falls backward, exhausted.
"…Did we just… save the planet?"
Nova stands there.
Breathing slowly.
Looking at his hands again.
"…For now."
---
Above Earth—
The alien vessel retreats slightly.
Damaged.
But not destroyed.
---
The commander speaks quietly—
but this time—
with respect.
"The anomaly… has evolved."
He turns away.
"Prepare Phase: Ascension."
---
Back on the rooftop—
Aira looks at Nova.
Smiling.
"You didn't lose control."
Nova looks at her.
"No."
A small pause.
Then—
"I didn't."
---
For the first time—
he's not afraid of his power.
---
But far beyond Earth—
something else has awakened.
Something older.
Watching.
Interested.
---
And this time—
it's not just aliens anymore.
---
