The blade of light collided with the blade of frozen shadows.
The dark rapier was pushed back by the heavier build of the bright claymore.
The angel smiled, in stark contrast to the aloof man who had stood before Selen not moments ago.
The two of the most stoic people within the hunter society were both clashing, each with a look of joy and determination written all across their once stern faces.
Selen moved her arm and shot the rapier at the angel, sliding the blade off of the claymore and moving it aside all in one fluid motion.
Yet this attack gave way to Ezekiel swinging the large blade at Selen's torso, giving up on any pretense of defense and letting the rapier pierce his stomach.
Selen watched the blade close in; she had no way to physically block the attack and wasn't sure if the blade would cut her darkness, so she made a way to block the blade.
A pillar of frozen shadows shot up and blocked the attack, forcing the blade of light to cut into it deeply.
Selen twisted her blade and then dragged it across the angel's stomach, slicing it open.
Blood spilled across the black ice, seeping into it and freezing all the same, before being cast out by the creator of the ice.
Ezekiel's eyes didn't falter, and his attack continued to cut into the ice, as it did on of the large wings swung around and slashed at Selen.
While the feathers were not sharp, there were small talons at the end of the wings.
The attack sliced through the air, with no time to block it; Selen resorted to dodging, her body swirled into a torrent of darkness and floated through the air before landing atop another black ice pillar.
Ezekiel removed his blade of light and turned to Selen with a Disturbing grin written on his face.
With some of his intestines hanging out, he was forced to stuff them back in, which he did without even a slight look of fear, pain, or disgust.
Then, using the light of the blade, pulled strings of light and fed them into his wound.
This lack of light was putting strain on the angel of light, who, to Solaris, looked as though he could only control light and not bend it. The lights of the arena were the only sources of light outside of the blade of light Ezekiel held in his hand.
Solaris looked at the angel, his face contorting slightly, with a disturbed look.
Something's not right about this man.
As if seeing Solaris's disturbed look, Luician leaned over and spoke loudly enough to cut through the Cheers of the audience.
"Angels don't feel pain."
Lucian said enlighting Solaris, he face set with a small but bright smile.
Solaris turned to Lucian and spoke.
"Don't tell me Angels are real too!"
Solaris stared at Lucian with wide eyes.
Lucian chuckled slightly, then spoke.
"Well, not anymore. All of the angels we are aware of went extinct many years ago. However, that doesn't mean there isn't some still out there."
Solaris looked at Lucian, who was smiling like he hadn't just shattered Solaris's world.
"WHAT! Next you're going to tell me dragons are real!"
Solaris shook his head, then his smile dropped as he saw Lucian scratching his cheek.
"No, actually? What isn't real?"
Lucian thought for a moment, then spoke.
"Well, the dragons are also most likely extinct, but we're not sure about that one at all. And many things aren't real, like gods, for example."
This time it was Solaris's turn to break the news.
Yet before he spoke, he shut his mouth. Then opened it again.
"Yeah, gods would be a bit absurd."
As the conversation wrapped up, Selen had landed another blow on the angel- a few, actually.
A few spears of ice and shadow poked out of the angel's body; yet Selen kept launching more and more, from the air, the rapier, and even from the ground itself. It was as if the entire world was out to kill a single angel.
As one of the spears shot through the air, the angel began to close in, dodging a myriad of frozen shadows.
Selen lowered her rapier, which she had been pointing at the encroaching angel, as she did her body shifted into a shadow and charged the Angel, appearing in front of it with two claws made of shadows, the size of the angel's entire torso.
That, however, wasn't all that changed; her head now had two horns sticking out from it, each made of shadows and ice.
Selen swung her claw at the man, slashing at him as he attempted to block the attack.
Yet some of the claws sliced through and cut into him.
She continued to attack, like a ferocious beast, or...
"A devil."
Solaris whispered to himself.
Solaris felt as though he should've been scared of Selen's form of a large frozen demon of shadows. Yet he wasn't; he was amazed.
Seeing Solaris's amazement, Sami leaned over and spoke.
"There is the reason some call her the Devil of frozen shadows; it is used almost as much as her nickname, Ice Saint, or even some call her the moon's chosen saint."
Sami giggled, then corrected herself.
"I suppose I'm the only one who calls her that."
Sami giggled again and then leaned back in her seat next to Ember.
Of which, who nodded in agreement.
"She can be quite the terror at night."
Solaris looked away from the two and back at the carnage of the arena.
Three awesome nicknames what the hell! And I'm stuck with Sol and Eclipse. This isn't fair.
