Chapter 3 - ) Being With Friends

JAY'S POV:

The next morning, the rain had stopped, but the city smelled wet and dark. I walked through the streets to my friends house to meet Section E. I needed them🥺♥️. I needed answers. And maybe…someone to remind me I wasn't losing my mind.

I spotted Rafael first. He was leaning against the fence, arms crossed, smiling warmly.

"Jay!" he called. "You look like you rose from death itself!"

I scowled. "And you look way too happy."

He laughed, as always. "You always think the world is ending. Relax, dude."

I didn't answer. I wasn't here to relax.

Ci-N, Felix and David were waiting a few steps away. They waved excitedly when they saw me.

"JAY! FINALLY!" Ci-N said, rolling his eyes dramatically like a baby. "We thought you'd disappear into grief or something."

I glared at him, "Just busy."

David frowned. "Busy blaming Keifer again, right?"

I froze. HOW did he..?

Felix smirked. "We know you. You have been staring at him for days!"

I crossed my arms angry. I swear I am gonna kill these people!

"I am not staring! I am…observing!"

Ci-N snorted. "Sure, 'observing'. You have basically planted yourself outside his office like a stalker."😹

I glared at them. "Enough! I am serious. Keira is dead. And Keifer…He is hiding something I know it! He killed my sister!"

Rafael stepped closer, his face serious now, "Jay…you can't just accuse him without proof."

I stared at him.

"I know what I saw ok?!" I said sharply. "And I know he was the last person with Keira. That's enough for me to know!"

Rafael sighed, but didn't argue. Not yet.

Ci-N jumped in. "So what's the plan? We help you spy on him?"

I shook my head. "No, I don't need help yet..I just need to keep my eyes open. Alone."

David frowns dramatically. "You are making this harder than it needs to be."

I ignored him. My mind was already racing, thinking about that asshole. Keifer. That stupid smirk. The way he laughed like nothing mattered.

Raefel looks at me with concern.

"Be careful, Jay," he said softly.

I looked up at him, "I always am."

But inside? I didn't feel careful..at all.

Because I feel Keifer was dangerous.

And I knew I was already to close.
