For a few seconds, the basement fell into complete silence.
Imama and Jihan stood frozen, as if their feet were stuck to the floor.
Imama spoke softly,
"Jihan… you heard that too, right?"
Jihan tightened his grip on the flashlight.
"Yeah… and I think that sound came from somewhere around here."
He slowly moved the beam of light toward the corner of the basement.
The light passed over an old table, broken chairs, and dusty lockers.
But no one was there.
"I really don't like this place…" Imama said quietly.
Jihan looked at her.
"Same here… but since we've come this far, we need to find the truth."
Just then, Imama noticed something in another corner.
"Jihan… look over there."
In the flashlight's beam, an old wooden door appeared.
The door was half broken, and rusty chains were hanging from it.
As if someone had once tried to seal it shut.
"Was that door always there?" Imama asked.
Jihan shook his head.
"No… and I don't think that's a normal door."
Slowly, they both started walking toward it.
With every step, the air grew colder.
As if the temperature in the basement was suddenly dropping.
Imama shivered slightly.
Jihan noticed and gently placed his hand on her shoulder.
"Are you okay?"
Imama nodded lightly.
"Just… a little scared."
Jihan stepped a little closer and said softly,
"Don't worry… as long as I'm here, nothing will happen to you."
For a moment, Imama's heart skipped a beat.
The distance between them was almost gone.
Suddenly—
BANG!
The iron gate at the top of the basement slammed shut.
Both of them jumped in shock.
"What was that?!" Imama almost shouted.
Jihan quickly turned and shone the flashlight toward the stairs.
The gate above the staircase was now completely closed.
And then they heard something else.
Slow footsteps.
Step…
Step…
Step…
As if someone was walking right above the gate.
Imama's face turned pale.
"Jihan… someone is up there…"
Jihan looked serious.
"Or someone just locked us down here."
Suddenly the basement lights flickered for a second.
And in that moment—
A shadow moved near the wooden door.
Imama's heart almost stopped.
"Jihan…" she whispered in fear.
"Someone is standing there…"
Jihan pointed the flashlight straight at the door.
But again—
There was no one there.
Only the old wooden door.
And now…
It was slowly opening by itself.
Inside the door was nothing but complete darkness.
As if something inside was waiting for them.
Suddenly Imama felt something strange.
It was like a voice whispering inside her mind.
"Come closer…"
Imama stepped back in fear.
"This basement is haunted…"
At that moment the basement lights began flickering rapidly.
On… off… on… off…
And then a strange voice echoed through the basement.
"Paapp… Paapp…"
"Come to me…"
Then a loud, terrifying laugh filled the air.
"Hahahahaha…"
Imama grabbed Jihan's hand tightly.
The air suddenly became even colder.
And at that exact moment—
Another door somewhere in the basement suddenly opened, and at the same time the gate above the stairs unlocked.
"J-Jihan… please let's go upstairs," Imama said nervously.
Jihan looked at her.
"But we haven't found anything yet."
"Jihan please… listen to me. I can't stay here anymore."
Suddenly Imama's vision blurred.
And the next second—
She collapsed unconscious.
"Imama!" Jihan shouted.
He quickly lifted her into his arms and ran toward the stairs.
But as he started climbing, the gate at the top began closing again.
"Damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!"
Jihan tried to reach it quickly.
Just before the gate shut, Imama's hand accidentally touched the iron gate.
And suddenly—
The gate opened again by itself.
Jihan froze for a moment.
"How did… that happen?"
He couldn't understand it.
How had the gate opened just by their touch?
He stepped out of the basement, still holding Imama in his arms.
For a moment, he stopped at the gate and looked back into the darkness below.
And right then—
A voice echoed from the basement.
"We will meet again…"
"And next time… you will come here on your own."
"Goodbye… myy buddy."
Jihan's eyes widened in shock.
He quickly turned around—
And the moment he did…
He froze completely.
Because what he saw next shocked him even more....
