The strange figure's whisper echoed in the silent forest.
"You… should not… have come here."
The four friends sat frozen inside the car. Fear filled the air, and no one knew what to do.
Suddenly, the driver tried the key again.
Vroom!
The car engine finally started.
"Hold tight!" she shouted nervously.
She quickly pressed the accelerator and the car rushed forward. The tires screeched as they sped away from the strange figure.
Everyone turned around to look through the back window.
The figure was still standing there… completely still… watching them disappear into the darkness.
After driving for a few minutes, the forest became even darker. The road ahead looked strange and unfamiliar.
One of the friends said nervously,
"Wait… this doesn't look like the road we came from."
Another friend looked around and said,
"You're right… I don't remember seeing these trees before."
The driver slowed down the car. Her heart was beating faster and faster.
"That's impossible… we only drove straight," she said.
Suddenly, the headlights fell on something standing in the middle of the road.
The driver slammed the brakes again.
This time… it wasn't a shadow.
It was an old wooden signboard.
The sign looked broken and covered in dirt.
One of the friends slowly got out of the car and wiped the dust off the sign.
As the words became visible, her face turned pale.
The sign read:
"WARNING: No one who enters this forest ever returns."The four friends stood silently in front of the old warning sign.
The cold wind moved slowly through the trees, making the forest feel even more frightening.
"Maybe… maybe we should go back," one of them said nervously.
The driver quickly turned the car around and started driving in the opposite direction.
But after driving for nearly ten minutes, something strange happened.
The road suddenly ended.
Right in front of them… stood the same warning sign again.
Everyone inside the car went silent.
"That's impossible," one friend whispered. "We just came from here."
The girl who believed in ghosts looked around fearfully.
"I think… the forest doesn't want us to leave."
Suddenly, a loud cracking sound came from deep inside the forest.
CRACK… CRACK…
It sounded like branches breaking.
Then they saw something through the trees.
A dim light… flickering in the distance.
It looked like a lantern.
"Is… someone living here?" one friend asked.
With no other choice, they slowly walked toward the light.
As they got closer, they saw an old wooden house hidden between the trees.
The house looked abandoned, and its door was slightly open.
The lantern hanging outside was moving slowly in the wind.
Just as they stepped closer…
The door of the house suddenly creaked open by itself.on its own.
The four friends froze in fear. No one moved for a moment. The lantern outside the house swung slowly in the wind, making long shadows move across the walls.
"Did… did someone open the door?" one of them whispered.
"I don't think so," another replied nervously.
The friend who believed in ghosts looked at the house carefully.
"Maybe someone lives here," she said, though her voice didn't sound very confident.
Slowly, they stepped closer to the door. The wooden floor made a creaking sound under their feet.
Inside the house, everything looked old and dusty. It seemed like no one had lived there for many years.
Broken chairs were lying on the floor, and spider webs covered the corners of the room.
Suddenly, one of the friends noticed something on the table.
"Look at that," she said quietly.
There was an old diary lying on the table.
The cover of the diary was torn and covered with dust.
One of them slowly picked it up and opened the first page.
The pages were filled with old handwriting.
As she read the words aloud, everyone's faces slowly turned pale.
The diary said:
"If you are reading this, it means you have already entered the cursed forest. No one who comes here can escape. Something lives here… and it watches everyone who enters."
Suddenly…
THUD!
The door of the house slammed shut behind them. The loud sound of the door slamming shut made all four friends jump in fear.
"Who closed the door?" one of them shouted nervously.
But no one answered. They all knew that none of them had touched the door.
The air inside the house suddenly felt colder.
The friend holding the diary slowly turned another page. Her hands were shaking.
"What does it say?" one of the others asked anxiously.
She swallowed and read the next line aloud.
"The forest is alive. It traps people inside and plays with their minds. First it confuses them… then it takes them one by one."
Everyone in the room felt a chill run down their spine.
Suddenly… they heard a sound.
Footsteps.
Step… step… step…
The sound was coming from upstairs.
All four friends slowly looked toward the staircase in the corner of the room.
The wooden stairs were old and dark.
The footsteps stopped for a moment…
Then something slowly moved at the top of the stairs.
One of the friends whispered, "Did you see that?"
Before anyone could answer…
A dark shadow suddenly appeared at the top of the staircase.
It stood there silently… watching them.
To be continued.....
