Chapter 155 - The Soft Side of a Devil

The Soft Side of a Devil

The mansion felt different that night.

Quieter.

Not with tension…

But with something unfamiliar.

Gentleness.

Elara sat by the window again.

Lost in her thoughts.

The distance between them still there.

Heavy.

Unspoken.

She sighed softly.

Then—

A knock.

She turned slightly.

Confused.

"Come in…"

The door opened slowly.

And Elara froze.

Damian stepped in.

But not like before.

No coldness.

No tension.

In his hand—

A single rose. 🌹

Elara blinked.

"Damian…?"

He walked toward her slowly.

"I don't know how to fix this."

He said quietly.

"But I know I don't want to lose you."

He stopped in front of her.

Then gently—

He held out the rose.

Elara stared at it.

Then at him.

"This is new…"

She whispered softly.

A faint smile touched his lips.

"I'm trying."

That alone—

Made her heart soften.

She slowly took the rose.

"Thank you…"

A small silence followed.

But this one—

Wasn't heavy.

Damian stepped closer.

"Can I?"

He gestured slightly toward her.

Elara hesitated.

Then nodded softly.

He reached out.

His hand brushing her hair gently behind her ear.

Slow.

Careful.

Like she might break.

Elara's breath caught slightly.

This wasn't the Damian she feared.

This was the one she fell for.

"I'm still me," he said softly.

"And I want to show you that… not just tell you."

Her eyes softened.

"You don't have to be perfect…"

She whispered.

"Just don't lose yourself."

He nodded slightly.

"I won't."

A pause.

Then—

Damian did something unexpected.

He took her hand.

And kissed it gently.

Elara's heart skipped.

"Come with me."

She looked at him.

Curious.

But she didn't refuse.

The garden.

Soft lights glowed around it.

Flowers blooming beautifully.

And in the center—

A small table.

Set for two.

Elara stopped.

Surprised.

"You did this…?"

Damian nodded.

"I thought… we could start again."

Her eyes filled slightly.

"Damian…"

He pulled out a chair for her.

Simple.

Gentle.

She sat.

Still watching him.

The night went on quietly.

Soft conversation.

Small smiles.

No fear.

No darkness.

Just them.

Later—

Elara stood near the roses.

The same place she once planted them.

Damian walked up behind her.

He didn't speak.

Just wrapped his arms around her gently.

This time—

She didn't pull away.

Instead—

She leaned into him.

"I missed this…"

She whispered.

"So did I."

He rested his chin lightly on her shoulder.

"I'll fight everything…"

He murmured.

"Just not you."

Elara closed her eyes.

A soft smile forming.

Because maybe—

Just maybe—

The devil could love gently too.
