Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Confiscated, No Hiding!

A few days passed.

"Lady Krul, the food you ordered is ready."

Two Vampire maids knelt before Krul.

Krul let out a yawn.

"Ha~ mm, you may leave."

"Yes!"

The two Vampire maids bowed their heads and withdrew.

After leaving Krul's palace, they began to whisper among themselves.

The shorter Vampire maid asked curiously.

"Hey, why do you think Lady Krul has taken such a liking to human food lately? She actually asks for three servings of human food every day."

The taller Vampire shook her head.

"How should I know? Over a year ago, Lady Krul significantly reduced the frequency of the blood we delivered to her. I used to think it was because there were too few humans and the quality of the special blood source was too low. But even now, with so many humans captured, Lady Krul's blood-drinking frequency still hasn't increased. Do you think Lady Krul is ill?"

"Do you have no brains? Lady Krul is the Third Progenitor. How could she possibly get sick? Do you think she's a frail human?"

"That's true. Forget it, let's not think about it. Come, I'll take you somewhere. The blood of the human children there is particularly delicious, and they even call us 'Big Sister' so sweetly!"

"Then let's go, let's go!"

Inside the palace, Krul didn't hear the conversation between the two maids. Glancing at the food on the dining cart, Krul said with her eyes closed.

"Take your food away. Do I have to personally deliver it to you?"

Luke poked his head out of the room. After confirming no one was there, he walked over to the dining cart with a swagger.

For the past few days, he had been pushing the dining cart back to his room. After all, as the Queen, many things required Krul's approval, so Vampires would visit her from time to time.

And with 'I'm super cute!' written on his face, Luke didn't dare show himself.

But today was different. Just last night, he had rolled a reward.

Kaneki Ken's Mask!

He could eat just by unzipping it, and it happened to cover the words on his face, so he decided to eat in the main hall today.

Even if a Vampire came looking for Krul and saw a human there, they might be surprised, but they wouldn't say much.

After all, it's not too much for our Queen to keep a human pet in her palace!

Krul was resting with her eyes closed when she suddenly heard chewing. She opened her eyes and looked over.

"Why are you today... Uh, where did you get such a strange mask?"

Luke smiled triumphantly.

"I made it myself. You only said I couldn't wash it; you didn't say I couldn't cover it."

Krul was speechless.

"Get back to your room and eat!"

Luke replied.

"I'm adding a side dish today. I'll go back after I'm done."

This made Krul a bit confused.

"What side dish?"

Without blushing or a racing heart—and more importantly, his expression couldn't be seen through the mask—Luke said righteously.

"You are my dish!"

Luke felt a bit like vomiting, disgusted by himself, but acting like a brat in front of Princess Krul felt so good!

Krul's brain stalled at this cheesy pickup line, but a Vampire lacking in emotion couldn't quite get the point of the sentence.

Krul just found it somewhat inexplicable.

Krul snapped back to reality, her fists clenching.

"I told you to get back! Believe it or not, I'll tear off your mask and tie you up in the square for other humans to observe!"

Luke quickly shoveled a few mouthfuls of rice, then put down his chopsticks.

"OK, finished. Thanks for the treat!"

Then, before Krul could fully lose her temper, he ran back to his room.

Before entering the door, he said in a voice only he could hear.

"Today's Princess Krul is spicy-flavored! A bit of a short fuse."

Krul rubbed her temples.

Since Luke moved into her palace, her daily routine had changed.

Although Luke 'obediently' stayed in his room every day and they basically didn't meet unless it was mealtime or she went to find him.

But Luke's 'craziness' during their limited daily encounters managed to give Krul a headache every time.

Yet, every time, Luke would bounce right on the edge of Krul's red line; whether she dealt with him or not depended on her mood.

And these past few days, Krul was still pondering and refining the Seraph Project, which consumed a lot of her energy, so she couldn't be bothered to deal with Luke.

Finding her brother was of the utmost urgency!

Whenever she was frustrated because she had no clue about a certain part of the plan, she would go and take a sip of Luke's blood.

As long as she drank only a little, Krul wouldn't get drunk immediately; instead, it had a refreshing effect.

At that moment, a knock came at the door.

"Who is it?"

"Lady Krul, I am the Captain of the Third Squad."

"Enter."

A large Vampire walked in.

He spoke in a muffled, booming voice.

"Lady Krul, Lord Ferid also seems to have his eye on those few human children you asked us to watch."

Upon hearing this, Krul stood up.

"Ferid? What is his objective?"

The burly man shook his head.

"Your subordinate does not know. While monitoring those brats, we spotted Lord Ferid's subordinates for several days in a row, and today we even saw Lord Ferid wandering in that area. That's why I've come to report."

Krul stroked her chin thoughtfully. After a while, she instructed the man.

"Continue monitoring. Do not let Ferid's people discover you."

"Yes!"

The burly man got up and left.

Krul was somewhat unsure of Ferid's motives.

"Alucard, get me an apple."

No response.

Krul felt a bit helpless.

That fellow must have gone to the human brats to steal food again.

She walked to Luke's door.

Krul pulled the door open directly. This was her palace; she didn't have the habit of knocking.

But as soon as the door opened, a figure came stumbling forward.

Krul reacted extremely quickly, stepping aside to dodge.

"Ouch!"

Luke lost his balance and fell to the floor.

Krul crouched down, looking at Luke's comical appearance with interest.

"Yo! Was the eavesdropping enjoyable?"

Luke flipped over, leaped to his feet with a carp kick, and pretentiously brushed off non-existent dust from his clothes, looking at Krul with an innocent face.

"What eavesdropping? I just had a bout of low blood sugar and fainted against the door as soon as I entered."

Krul smiled.

"Oh~ you walked in, and then fainted while leaning forward against the door?"

Luke hadn't expected Krul to be so observant of the details.

"Uh, this... that..."

Krul grabbed Luke's shoulder.

"Next, don't move~ Otherwise, you might die!"

Luke froze in place.

Krul nodded with satisfaction, then snatched off Luke's mask.

"Confiscated. From now on, a new rule: no hiding!"

Krul let go of Luke and played with the mask in her hand. The craftsmanship was very fine; there was no way it was made by him as he had claimed.

It seems this guy has some other special qualities.

Luke's mood plummeted; he felt like the light had gone out of his life.

"Then, Princess Krul, how much longer do I have to keep this on?"

Luke pointed to the words on his face.

Krul burst into laughter.

"That depends on your performance."

Krul stopped bantering and looked into Luke's room, but didn't see Alucard.

"Have you seen Alucard?"

Luke pointed to the chandelier in the main hall.

Krul looked up and saw Alucard swinging on the chandelier with its tail. It was obvious it had been drinking Luke's blood again.

Krul rubbed her forehead, shook her head, and sighed—the triple combo.
