Hector Grant stared at the group, his gaze clouded with an incredibly complex mix of emotions.
After a long moment, Hector let out a heavy sigh. "I can see it now—no matter what I say, you aren't going to listen. Since that's the case, I won't waste my breath. If you don't want to leave, then so be it. But I still have to warn you about one thing. Since you've decided to stay in the base, you must stay on high alert at all times."
Seeing that Hector was finally no longer insisting on their departure, Sierra Sullivan breathed a sigh of relief.
Even though she knew his desperate and firm urging for them to leave was entirely for their own good, it still weighed heavily on her heart. Sometimes, deliberate schemes or malicious harm weren't the scariest things; what was truly daunting was someone forcing you into doing things against your will under the banner of "for your own good."
