Love the skin I'm inColor my skin, the many shades of blackness,
I'm in the middle, the undertones of brown, a whisper of a kiss
My sister is dark-skinned, bold, and beautiful, blessed by the sun
My cousin is light-skinned, held in the hush of the many colors of brown
This battle between fellow sisters is overrated.
There are many shades of blackness, and all are to be celebrated
All equally created by the Creator
Of diversity, He is the inventor.
All shades are beautiful, yes.
Bless us
Let us all call eachother sister,
We are all blackitty black, down to the letter.
Scripture:
"For the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart." — 1 Samuel 16:7 (KJV)
Voice:
"We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry." — Maya Angelou
