Lyra is an orphan, she was raised by her best friend's parent Flynn. So on the day of the wedding Kael had already promised to provide every single thing she needed, but Lyra wanted it to be simple, since it was a time of war, she doesn't want to be spending lavishly on a wedding when resources are scarce.
At their house in the morning, on the day of the wedding, Flynn gave her her mom's gold necklace, more like a pendant with an unusual symbol on it.
It had a half star and half wolf bonded together, surrounded by a interwoven spiral.
This pendant was given to Flynn's parent the day they saw her and her mother in the eastern woods. They were foraging when they heard a noise in a near by bush, it was a stranger though she smell like a wolf, both of them being veterans knew instantly something was off with her.
My name is Mirah please help me, she didn't look visibly hurt but they could tell she was really exhausted and on a brink of death, the first thing she did was give them Lyra. They gave her water and she gave them the pendant, saying they shouldn't give her until the day of her wedding.
At first they wondered why does that matter now, instead of us trying to save your life?
But Mirah said her life does not matter, only that of her child! She begged them to please take care of her moon, Lyra.
She kissed her, thanked them, mumbled a few words that sounded like and incantation and right there in their presence they witnessed her body gradually evaporate like snowflakes falling from the sky but it was so peaceful! Everything became quiet and the environment became serene.
And for a moment the fear of a total stranger with an unusual smell just faded away. It almost felt like paradise.
What shocked them both was that they could smell her, since both of them are werewolves, they could tell Mirah was one by her smell, but when she whispered the incantation, they stepped back shocked, only for her to evaporate like a beam of light and bind to the pendant she gave them.
Because they know only witches use incantations and they are never allowed in Their territory, and they came to realise why something was off about her.
They took Lyra home and raised her as their own. Finn came back to the woods to look for clues that might lead him to What happened or where Mirah was coming from, the next day he went there, he saw the royal guards and general Klaus.
On his way he could sense that strong smell of iron and rust. It's been a while but he knew what it was, the royal guard, and there's a lot of them.
What could they be doing here of all places he asked himself.
Finn was no stranger to the royal guard or the army. In fact only kids of about 5years old would say they haven't heard of the Legendary white wolf! Finn retired voluntarily from it all because he feared the blood and death was gradually stripping his soul away, he and General Klaus were once good friends.
They pushed each other to achieve greatness but Klaus had this bloodlust and hunger for power, and all Finn wanted was just a family, a farm, some peace and quiet before his time came.
The guard that saw him at the entrance immediately salute him.
Guard: my lord!
Finn: at ease soldier i no longer wear the badge.
Guard: you're the white wolf, the bane of the night, no badge can measure your sacrifice for this Nation.
Finn: thank you, so what's going on here?
Guard: I don't actually know sir, i was just assigned this post, but i can take you to General Klaus, he's here.
Finn: klaus is here? It must be really serious.
Guard: i think so too.
Klaus asked him what are you doing here Finn, Flynn's father being the fearless person he always was, said he didn't know the woods he's being foraging for years is now prohibited from the public. Klaus told him to leave that there's an official activity being carried out.
General Klaus looked up, his eyes narrowing. "Who allowed the coward in?"
Finn didn't flinch. "Who dares stop me from going where I want around here?"
He took a step forward, his voice dropping to a low growl. "And moreover, I came in and not one of these weaklings could sense me even if they tried."
General Klaus shifted. He knew absolutely well what Finn was capable of. If the White Wolf didn't want to be seen, no one—not even the General himself—would have noticed his approach. Still, Klaus had a reputation to uphold in front of his men.
"Unless you want to be arrested," Klaus said, his hand resting on the hilt of his sword, "you had better leave. Now."
Finn left quietly, escorted out by the guards, but his ears stayed sharp. He caught the hushed whisper of a soldier nearby.
"She's not here," the guard muttered.
Finn left quietly while being escorted out but he overheard one of the guards say "she's not here" . Finn being the ever witty person that he is got home and told his wife what had happened. Then he knew the royal guard had something to do with Mirah and her child.
So that same morning he took his wife and Flynn and left for a near by clan. The journey was a day and half. He met with a trusted old friend Jack, the leader of their clan and they came up with a story of how lyra's parent died.
Her father on a mission and her mother at child birth. They forged papers and everything for the adoption and went back after 6 months. And this was how she came to be a part of their lives.
