GA: Chapter 52 – Logia-Type: Glint-Glint Fruit. Stop Saying the Quiet Part Out Loud!

Ordinary Group Owner: "You, you all—hmph! I'm done talking to you."

Ordinary Group Owner: "@Dongfang Bubai, Sister Dongfang, what did you draw?"

Dongfang Bubai: "Image.jpg"

[Item: Logia-Type Devil Fruit · Glint-Glint Fruit]

[A Devil Fruit from the One Piece world. The user can transform their body into light and becomes immune to physical attacks.]

[The user is vulnerable to seawater and Sea-Prism Stone from the One Piece world; seawater from other worlds has half the effect.]

Dongfang Bubai: "I think the group's lucky ones are about to gain a new member."

Over the past few days she'd gone through many memory copies from other worlds—One Piece being the one she'd watched the most, with Pokémon coming in second.

The other worlds had more complete storylines, but she was simply drawn to the unfinished ones.

Because the unfinished ones represented unknown possibilities.

The Glint-Glint Fruit's abilities she naturally already knew—it was the power of Borsalino, Kizaru, one of the Navy's three Admirals.

Perhaps not the strongest Devil Fruit in terms of raw power, but in terms of speed, it was undoubtedly the fastest of them all.

Her own Sunflower Manual was renowned for its speed—yet compared to the speed of light, it wasn't even in the same league.

If she could properly develop the Glint-Glint Fruit's abilities, her strength would undergo a complete transformation. Even within the chat group, she would no longer be sitting at the bottom.

Ordinary Group Owner: "The Glint-Glint Fruit?!"

Be My Son: "Kuhahahaha, that little brat Kizaru's ability, huh. Not bad luck at all."

Uchiha Dance King: "Speed comparable to light itself—though it hasn't been fully demonstrated in the memory copies, the potential is undeniably there."

Uchiha Dance King: "Good fortune."

Even Uchiha Madara felt a twinge of envy at Dongfang Bubai's luck.

He had of course watched the One Piece memory copies and had a solid understanding of its powerful figures. The three Admirals' strength, while no match for his future self after merging with the Ten-Tails to achieve the Six Paths level, was still roughly comparable to the peak of his battles with Hashirama.

Worst Elf: "What enviable luck."

Kurumi shook her head as well, letting out a quiet sigh.

The chat group's lottery system truly was enticing as a fast-track to power—whether it was Bai Xuan drawing the Uchiha Obito template or Dongfang Bubai drawing the Glint-Glint Fruit.

If she could draw something similar, perhaps her odds of defeating the First Spirit would increase by a few points.

Turn Daigu into Soup: "The gap between people is honestly bigger than the gap between humans and dogs!"

Turn Daigu into Soup: "I'm so jealous of that luck!"

Why couldn't he draw a Devil Fruit?!

No Mythical Zoan? Fine, a Logia would do!

No Logia? Fine, a Paramecia then!

No Paramecia? Fine, even a… Sharingan would do!

How did he end up with nothing?!

Golden Flash: "Despite its weakness, the fear of seawater isn't an unacceptable trade-off compared to the sheer power it grants."

Ordinary Group Owner: "I'm dead inside, everyone!"

Ordinary Group Owner: "The Glint-Glint Fruit is literally my favorite!"

Ordinary Group Owner: "My absolute favorite character in One Piece is Kizaru—showing up late, slacking on the job, leaving right on time—that's my dream life!"

Ordinary Group Owner: "And the Glint-Glint Fruit is so strong!"

That's the power of light! Not just the speed—the destructive force is terrifying too!

Bai Xuan also hadn't expected Dongfang Bai to draw the Glint-Glint Fruit.

In his eyes, the Glint-Glint Fruit was not inferior to any other Devil Fruit—not even a Mythical Zoan.

Extreme speed and extreme power, all in one.

While many believed the Rumble-Rumble Fruit's speed was comparable to the Glint-Glint Fruit, the speed of light absolutely, definitively surpasses the speed of lightning. Perhaps in the One Piece world the two were made to seem similar—but in reality, there was simply no comparison.

If Dongfang Bai truly managed to unlock speed on par with actual light, then even the weakest attack would become catastrophically devastating.

And the Glint-Glint Fruit also reminded Bai Xuan of something—light was a part of nature too.

The abilities encompassed by his [Natural Authority] should include light as well.

What's that? You say sunlight comes from the sun?

Once it reaches Earth, it's mine.

If you've got a problem with that, go tell the sun to stop shining.

And thinking about it further—darkness was also a part of nature.

Afterward, Bai Xuan experimented with wielding the powers of light and darkness. Unsurprisingly, he succeeded without issue.

It seemed [Natural Authority] was just as domineering as he'd imagined.

A small side note in his daily life—one that hinted there were still many unknown surprises yet to be unlocked within [Natural Authority].

He wasn't in any rush to discover them all.

The abilities he currently commanded were already more than rich and powerful enough.

And so the days passed, one by one—until the stockpile of mutant beast meat in his spatial ring finally ran out.

That was genuinely painful.

Having grown accustomed to dishes made from mutant beast meat, everything else just didn't seem worth eating anymore.

Should he make another trip to the nature reserve?

"You've got some nerve," Huoyou's voice came through the phone, loud and sharp. "People who know you would say you went to investigate. People who don't would think you went on an extermination mission."

"The mutant beasts in the nature reserve run the moment they see a human now."

"Do you have any idea how much psychological trauma you've inflicted on their tiny little hearts?!"

"They reproduce quickly," Bai Xuan said, "and because of the spiritual qi, the young ones adapt fast."

"Besides, I only hunted the mutated ones. The non-mutated ones are doing just fine."

"Aren't those the ones a nature reserve is actually supposed to protect?"

He said it as though it were the most natural thing in the world.

"That's technically true, but we need the meat too."

"We haven't built a complete breeding chain for mutant beasts yet—there just aren't enough of them."

"Hangcheng has plenty of mountains, but they're all too spread out, so… maybe try a different spot?"

Huoyou's voice grew quieter as she spoke, but saying nothing wasn't an option either.

The meat from those mutant creatures was absurdly good—and the restorative effects were remarkable.

The state would naturally never let go of a strategic resource like that.

"…"

"So as long as I don't hunt in the nature reserve, I'm fine, right?"

Bai Xuan sighed.

"Actually, the nature reserve is still fine—just try to target the ones with stronger auras and higher combat power."

Huoyou thought it over before adding.

"Because their aptitude is higher, and if they grow strong enough to threaten humans, the danger would far exceed that of ordinary mutant beasts?"

"Partly that, but mostly—they're fast, heavily armored, hit hard, and hunting them takes far more time and manpower than the lower-tier ones."

"Too much hassle."

"And even though they're more powerful, their bodies haven't grown that much bigger. Some have tough, unpleasant meat—you have to cook it for a long time before it becomes edible."

Silence fell over the call.

Bai Xuan took a long, slow breath, then hung up.

Next time, please—just keep that kind of blunt honesty to yourself.
