Chapter 54 - Chapter 54: The Daimyo Like a Stray Dog

Before the shattered city gates of the Fire Capital.

Smoke billowed through the air.

Although the gate had been blasted open in a single strike, the resistance within was unexpectedly stubborn—or perhaps simply foolish.

Thousands of elite samurai from the Daimyo's Mansion, along with a group of rogue ninjas hired for an astronomical sum, stood trembling as they raised their weapons, blocking the only road leading to the mansion.

Behind them stood ranks of archers, arrows already nocked.

"For the Daimyo!"

"Stop him! Hold him back and the reward is one hundred million ryo!"

The samurai commander roared hoarsely, trying to use money to drown out the terror gripping his men.

Uchiha Tobirama stood atop the ruins, gazing down at the densely packed crowd with clear impatience in his eyes.

"So this is your final line of defense?"

He neither drew a blade nor formed hand seals.

The chakra within him surged violently, and a golden radiance burst skyward.

Nine-Tails Chakra Mode—fully released.

Susanoo—Majestic Attire.

Boom!

A colossal golden Nine-Tails materialized, towering like a mountain. In the next instant, deep purple Susanoo armor flowed over its body, encasing it completely.

The giant Susanoo wielded two massive blades wreathed in black flames. With a casual sweep of its tails, the surrounding air detonated with deafening shockwaves.

This overwhelming existence appeared without warning in the heart of the capital.

The psychological impact alone shattered all resistance.

"Th-this… what kind of monster is that…?"

The samurai commander's sword slipped from his grasp and clattered to the ground.

"Disappear."

Tobirama stood atop the Majestic Attire Nine-Tails and waved his hand indifferently.

One of the massive blades swung down, and a pitch-black Tailed Beast Ball condensed along its edge.

Majestic Attire: All-Encompassing Slash.

Hum.

For an instant, the world seemed to fall silent.

A vast purple-black slash, stretching thousands of meters and carrying annihilating power, tore forward.

The samurai, the hired ninjas, the streets, buildings, and fortifications behind them—everything in its path vanished in an instant.

A deep canyon was carved straight into the earth, extending to the distant horizon.

Rumble!

Only then did the thunderous sound arrive.

Nearly half of the capital was erased by this single attack. And this was with Tobirama deliberately holding back—otherwise, the entire city could have been wiped out without leaving a trace.

When the dust finally settled, the once-bustling streets were empty.

Only scorched ground and fragments of shattered armor remained.

One strike.

An army of thousands, gone.

"This… this is the power of a god…"

The few surviving soldiers collapsed to the ground, completely broken.

"We surrender! We surrender!"

"Please don't kill us!"

Tobirama withdrew the Majestic Attire and landed lightly on the ground.

"Clear the way," he said calmly.

"I'm going to meet the Daimyo."

Behind him, the Konoha shinobi burned with fanatic fervor as they stared at his back.

"This is our Hokage!"

"What Daimyo? What nobles?"

"Before absolute power, they're nothing!"

Daimyo's Mansion, main hall.

The earth-shaking explosions outside had finally ceased.

The Fire Daimyo knelt in the center of the hall, his body shaking uncontrollably.

The army he had boasted about was gone.

The defenses he had poured countless riches into were gone.

"Lord Daimyo! Run! Use the escape tunnel!" an official shouted in panic.

"Run? And where would I run to?"

The Daimyo let out a hollow laugh, his face twitching.

At that moment—

Step. Step. Step.

Footsteps echoed.

The doors were pushed open.

Uchiha Tobirama walked in, followed by a group of Uchiha elites radiating killing intent.

Not a speck of dust clung to him, as if he had merely returned from a stroll.

The moment he saw Tobirama, the Daimyo snapped.

He lunged forward and dropped to his knees, sliding across the floor until he reached Tobirama's feet.

"Lord Tobirama! You're finally here!"

His powdered face twisted into a desperate, ingratiating smile.

"It's all a misunderstanding! Truly!"

"It was Hiruzen Sarutobi—and that cursed envoy Inoue! They deceived me!"

"I was misled by traitors and acted foolishly for a moment!"

"You are Konoha's hero, the protector of the Land of Fire! How could I ever oppose you?"

As he spoke, he tried to clutch at Tobirama's leg.

"From today on, I won't be the Daimyo anymore! You can take my place!"

"I'll hand over the treasury keys! Even my family—no, everything!"

"I beg you… please let me live!"

The Konoha shinobi behind Tobirama felt nothing but disgust.

This was the lofty Daimyo who once lorded over them?

The noble who controlled the nation's lifeblood?

Now he was no better than a desperate stray, begging for mercy.

Tobirama looked down at the trembling mass before him, his eyes filled with undisguised contempt.

"A misunderstanding?"

He stepped on the Daimyo's outstretched hand and applied pressure.

A shrill scream rang out.

"That's not what you said when you sent someone to force me to kneel," Tobirama said coldly.

"Nor when you gathered troops to kill me."

"Now that you've lost, you push the blame onto the dead?"

"Pathetic. And cowardly."

"Mercy! Please, mercy!"

The Daimyo kowtowed frantically, completely breaking down.

"I'm the Daimyo! I have royal blood! You can't kill me! If you do, the other nations will—"

"The other nations?"

Tobirama sneered.

"You waited two days. Did anyone come?"

"This is the era of shinobi."

"So-called royal blood means nothing."

He raised his foot, his gaze icy.

"Since you like kneeling so much…

then kneel forever."

Boom.

The kick landed.

The Daimyo's body collapsed lifelessly to the floor.

The Fire Daimyo—dead.

The noble who prided himself on his lineage was executed as casually as a roadside dog.

Screams erupted throughout the hall as officials and servants collapsed in terror.

Tobirama withdrew his foot and wiped it against the fallen man's robes.

"Uchiha Setsuna."

"Yes!" Setsuna answered, flushed with excitement.

"Clean out the Daimyo's Mansion," Tobirama ordered.

"Anyone who oppressed the people and served no purpose—execute them."

"Those with real administrative ability, bring them back to Konoha's Civil Affairs Department."

"From today onward, the Land of Fire has no Daimyo's Mansion—only Konoha's authority."

"Yes!"

The Uchiha moved instantly.

That day, the Daimyo's Mansion was completely purged.

The rotten core of the old era was cut out in the most direct way possible.

Three days later, the ninja world was shaken.

The fall of nations and the deaths of Kage had inspired fear—but this was different.

The death of a Daimyo and the abolition of the Daimyo system overturned centuries of belief.

For generations, shinobi had served the nobility.

Uchiha Tobirama shattered that rule with his own hands.

He declared to the world: shinobi are no longer tools—they are the ones who wield power.

The Earth Daimyo fled overnight into the mountains.

The Lightning Daimyo handed Kumogakure the treasury keys, terrified that history would repeat itself.

The balance of the ninja world had changed completely.

All eyes turned toward Konoha—and toward the man named Uchiha Tobirama.

Fear. Reverence. Worship.

He had become the undisputed ruler of the ninja world.

Late at night. Tobirama's residence in Konoha.

After dealing with the aftermath, Tobirama returned home carrying both spoils and capable personnel.

After washing away the scent of blood, he lay down on the large bed, exhaustion finally catching up to him.

Tsunade and Konan were still working late on Civil Affairs matters, Pakura handled security, and the house was quiet.

"Hm?"

As he lay down, his hand brushed against something hard near the pillow.

It was an ancient black scroll.

"Who put this here?"

Tobirama sat up instantly, fully alert.

He activated his Six Tomoe Rinnegan, extending his perception—but found no trace of intrusion.

To bypass his awareness so completely…

Only one being came to mind.

"Interesting."

A faint smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.

He undid the seal and unfurled the scroll.

By moonlight, its contents became clear.

It wasn't ninjutsu or intelligence—but a distorted history.

The Sage of Six Paths.

Indra and Asura.

Uchiha and Senju, born of the same origin.

Yin and Yang, reunited to achieve ultimate creation.

At the end was a map, pointing to a location within Konoha—the Valley of the End Shrine.

Below it, a line of blood-red script:

If you seek the truth of the world and eternal power, go to the shrine and read the stone tablet left by the Sage of Six Paths.

Tobirama closed the scroll.

Chakra flared in his palm, reducing it to ashes.

"Black Zetsu…"

"It seems I've made too much noise."

Trying to lure him into Infinite Tsukuyomi?

Or planning to use him to revive Kaguya?

Tobirama walked to the window and looked toward the Valley of the End.

If it were Madara, he might have believed it.

But Tobirama was different.

"Since you want to play," he said quietly,

"I'll play along."
